Elixinol has an extensive lineup of top-notch products with an almost “pharmaceutical” feel to them. Everything they sell has high purity and has been extensively tested by the company itself. These tests are clearly visible on their website.
We love the diversity of products produced by this company — covering everything from tinctures and capsules to topicals and protein powders.
Unfortunately, all the products this company offers are fairly basic — containing just carrier oils and CBD extract. We’d love to see some more specialty products from this company for things like pain, inflammation, and sleep support. The company doesn’t use any other ingredients in the vast majority of its products which leaves something to be desired.
Elixinol donates 5% of every purchase to a non-profit that can be selected from their list of charitable organizations. They also allow customers to send a request for organizations not on their list of approved organizations.
This is much more than most companies in this space are doing — so we applaud Elixinol for taking the initiative.
Elixinol has proprietary farms in the United States and Europe. All of the company’s American hemp comes from Colorado — a state that’s well known for its quality hemp. The European division uses hemp from one of the company’s farms around Europe. Elixinol claims to have 100% organic and naturally processed hemp — but have not yet achieved USDA certifications to prove the organic status of its hemp. With that said, this company is well-known for offering some of the best hemp in the industry.
Elixinol carries a wide range of products such as wholesale CBD oil, CBD oil capsules, CBD oil tinctures, CBD oil liposomes, CBD oral applicators, CBD topical balms, hemp skincare products, hemp seeds and protein, and CBD dog treats. This covers most of the general staples in the industry except for vape oils and vape pens.
Elixinol uses a chemical-free CO2 “cold” extraction process that’s environmentally friendly and non-toxic. This type of process maintains the extraction temperature closest to the botanical material. It results in a pure high-quality CBD extract by reducing the thermal degradation of the hemp.
There’s a lot of room for innovation in the formulas behind their product lineup, as the company offers no specialty formulas to help direct the effects of the CBD for a particular symptom or condition. All of these products are fairly simple in nature, containing just CBD, and various carrier oils.

Elixinol is one of the few CBD suppliers that grows its own hemp. The company has farms in both the United States and Europe. All of its American products are made with Colorado-grown, non-GMO hemp while Elixinol’s European division sources its hemp from farmers around Europe. All of its extracts are rigorously quality tested for safety and consistency.

Elixinol enforces a strict no GMO policy from the hemp used in its products. The company sources its hemp from Europe, the USA, and Australia. They test everything to confirm the absence of harmful chemicals or soil contaminants like heavy metals.
It’s very important to us that CBD companies perform this testing because it doesn’t take much for cannabis to become contaminated. It’s considered a bioaccumulator which means this plant has a tendency to absorb harmful compounds from the soil if the growing conditions aren’t strictly controlled.
Elixinol uses Supercritical CO2 Extraction to extract its CBD and the natural flavorings for its tinctures like Cinnamint. The company uses the same “Eco-Friendly Cold CO2 Extraction Process” to maintain quality.
They offer a few different types of CBD oils — vegetable glycerine-based, MCT oil-based, and a high-potency version only available in Brazil.
The extraction process used by Elixinol yields approximately 18% CBD.
This is quite high compared to other CBD manufacturers. Elixinol gets this concentration higher than usual by using supercritical CO2 extraction and specially bred industrial-grade hemp with high levels of CBD.
A point of criticism for Elixinol is that it doesn’t have any recommended uses for its products. Other companies have geared their products towards a specific niche whether it’s for pain management, weight loss, or sleep support, to name a few.
Companies like Kats Naturals or Brothers Apothecary add other herbs and supplements to their formulas to tailor them for a specific health condition or symptom. Elixinol, on the other hand, doesn’t offer any such product. Everything they sell is fairly generic in this sense — so if you’re using these products for a specific health complaint, it’s best to speak with a health practitioner to add other herbs and nutrients to the supplement regimen to optimize your results even further.
The other issue we found with Elixinol is in some of the marketing “buzzwords” the company is using to sell its products. Words like “hybridized full-spectrum” and claims of having significantly “higher bioavailability” without any proof are just a few examples of terms Elixinol is using to sell more products. We’re skeptical about these claims and question the truth or relevance in some of them.
Elixinol provides detailed test results for all of its CBD products.
The company claims to send ‘dummy’ products to third-party labs to test the stability of their testing practices and ability to find abnormalities. An additional benefit is that Elixinol can perform rapid recalls and identify any consumers in possession of a tainted product since they’re linked to batch numbers in the testing process.
That all sounds great. However, Elixinol’s test results only list Elixinol as the testing lab — no third party.
While the tests contain essential information like CBD purity, heavy metal, microbiological, and pesticide results, Elixinol doesn’t provide the name of the lab or any pertinent information on who is conducting these tests.
Based on the track record of Elixinol’s key players the tests should be legitimate. After all, Paul Benhaim has had proven success from his previous ventures and has made a name for himself in the hemp industry. However, we can only judge based on what we see, or in this case what we don’t.
Elixinol has both a US website and a European website. The North American website will ship products to the US and Brazil, while the European website serves the rest of the world, and will ship just about anywhere CBD products are legal.
Elixinol only accepts returns on products that have been damaged during shipping. You need to notify the company within three days of receiving the product to be eligible for a refund. The company will also not cover lost items in transit.
Overall Elixinol seems to be a company that can back up on its claims of high-quality products. Based on the information available, Elixinol demonstrates best practices in acquiring its hemp, extraction process, and testing procedures (although difficult to confirm).
The biggest potential red flag for Elixinol is that its self-proclamation of the integrity of its hemp plants, processes, and testing.
The lack of transparency makes it challenging to stand behind the company and its products wholeheartedly. It may be a marketing misstep, as the company appears credible, but it raises some suspicion.
Elixinol can be seen as a ‘sleeping giant’ of the CBD industry. The company has an extensive collection of CBD and hemp products that allows its consumers the freedom to choose which application works best for their lifestyle. Elixinol can deal with wholesale and bulk orders to emphasize the scale at which it operates.
The most endearing quality, although it can be misconstrued, is its pharmaceutical style approach in processing and testing its products.
