Headery is a small CBD brand based in
Denver, Colorado with an admirable philosophy. It revolves around, “balancing the relationship between mental,
physical, and emotional wellbeing” with natural CBD oil blends.
Headery’s founder first started using CBD
oils in 2014 to help with his anxiety. He found it worked so well for him he
decided to put together his own product. He spends thousands of dollars every
year supporting research projects at McMaster University investigating the
connection between CBD and different kinds of anxiety.
This is one of the few companies we’ve
found so far willing to spend the time and money pushing the industry forward
through research — so hats off to the leadership behind Headery in this
respect.
The hemp Headery uses to make its products is
sourced and processed in Denver, Colorado from organic-certified labs.
Headery’s CBD extract is independently lab
tested by Botanacor and ProVerde
for quality assurance. Its lab tests aren’t posted on the website, but the
following tests were promptly provided via email:
- Cannabinoid profile
- Terpenes
The tests we were given from Headery included the cannabinoid profile and terpene profile — but lacked the heavy metal or pesticide tests. So we were unable to confirm the organic status of the hemp.

The Good Morning oil was formulated to help
soothe mental and physical daily stressors through clean, full-spectrum hemp
extract. The company recommends that you add the Good Morning Oil into your
favorite smoothie, energy drink, or coffee first thing in the morning.
We tried it with our coffee and really liked
the results. Headery oils are unflavored, so it won’t affect the taste of your
coffee. Just make sure you mix it in well so the oil doesn’t accumulate at the
top.
Adding
CBD to your coffee may counteract the jitters and shakiness coffee
drinkers often experience after having a cup or two.

Snooze is the companies CBD formula for sleep.
It’s intended to help calm the mind and body from daily stress and anxiety to
help us fall asleep faster at night. It’s a combination of the same high-grade
hemp extract used to make the Good Morning Oil, with the addition of melatonin
— the sleep hormone that regulates the sleeping portion of the sleep-wake
cycle. \
There’s 30 mg of melatonin per bottle — so
every mL of oil you take gives you 30 mg of CBD, with 1 mg of melatonin. We
found we need about 3 – 5 mL of oil to get the best results.
1. Affordable CBD Oils
Headery does single potency and affordability
well. Both oils contain 30 milligrams of CBD per milliliter — which works out
to around $0.08 per mg of CBD. For context, the most affordable CBD products
range from about $0.05/mg – $0.09/mg, so
this company is well within the affordable range.
CBD shows promise as a health supplement because of the effects it has on balancing the endocannabinoid system. CBD’s role is more of a balancing support rather than a laser-focused supplement.
When CBD is combined with other active
compounds (like melatonin), it can provide targeted support.
By taking melatonin about an hour before bed,
you can help send a signal to the brain that it’s time to prepare for sleep. It
directly opposes the other hormone in the sleep-wake cycle (cortisol) that
makes us feel alert — but also causes us to feel stressed and anxious.
We believe third-party lab tests should be
easily accessible on the website. We had to email the customer service team to
get the Certificates of Analysis for these products.
Even the tests we got were incomplete — missing out on key information like heavy metal contaminants, and pesticide or solvent residues. Not having these tests doesn’t mean the company uses poor-quality hemp, but it doesn’t completely rule it out either.
Hemp is a bioaccumulator. This means it
absorbs compounds, even the bad ones, in its environment faster. If the soil
it’s grown in is full of toxic heavy metals like cadmium, the final product
will likely contain cadmium as well — which can actually cause more harm than
good.
Safety & Third-Party Testing
Headery tests its products for cannabinoid
profile and potency and it’s terpene profile. However, as we’ve mentioned, it’s
missing contamination reports.
We’d
like to see the following tests from Headery:
- Heavy metal profile
- Pesticide profile
- Solvent residue
- Microbial & mycotoxin
contaminant profiles
Headery’s Shipping and Return
Policy
Headery products are only available online and
ships within the United States. One of the perks with Headery is that it
provides free shipping via USPS on all orders with a 30-day return policy.
If you live outside the United States, you’ll
need to use a mail forwarding service like Shipito to get the products to your
address.
The process is simple:
- Set up an
account with a mail forwarding company like Shipito
- Enter the
address Shipito gave you when purchasing the oils
- Await
delivery — the product will first go to the American-based Shipito address
before being redirected to your home address
Final Verdict: Affordable Sleep
and Stress CBD Oils
Headery’s Good Morning and Snooze CBD oils are
both potent and affordable. We love that Headery uses a full-spectrum hemp
extract for both its products and that each bottle comes with a relatively high
potency for an affordable price.
We especially love how Headery contributes to
CBD research — helping to push the needle forward on our understanding of how
this incredible plant can be used for common problems. Every bottle purchased
also provides a bottle for CBD research to McMaster University.
The only downside of this company is the lack
of testing. This is something the CBD industry is lacking as a whole, but many
companies are starting to provide complete seed to bottle transparency with its
customers — Headery would benefit to follow this practice as a small
brand.
