Charlotte’s Web Review

Charlotte’s Web is a pioneer in the CBD industry — they were arguably the first official CBD brand to enter the United States and were a driving force behind the media interest in the supplement after using high-CBD hemp flower to treat a little girl with severe epilepsy.

Today, Charlotte’s Web remains an industry leader — offering excellent CBD products affordably. Their products cover several different categories, and each product comes with several options to choose from.

The product lineup at Charlotte’s Web can get a little confusing, so we’ve broken it down into bite-sized chunks to help you pick the product that’s best suited for you.

Mission / Charity 5/5

Charlotte’s Web was originally started in honor of Charlotte Figi, a child suffering from a rare condition called Dravet Syndrome. The company hopes to provide trustworthy and dependable CBD products to make good health attainable for everyone.

Charlotte’s Web donates a minimum of 2% pre-tax revenue to vetted charitable organizations. Some of these groups include the Women’s Bean Project, the Adaptive Training Foundation, and the Realm of Caring.

Hemp Source 4/5

Charlotte’s Web hemp is non-GMO and grown in Colorado, Oregon, and Kentucky.  The company is very particular about the way its hemp is grown and processed — which is necessary to create top-notch CBD extracts.

Although not USDA-certified organic, Charlotte’s Web doesn’t use any synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. Once Charlotte’s Web can obtain certified organic status, the company will get full points here.

Product Range 5/5

Charlotte’s Web offers oils, tinctures, creams, balms, capsules, pet products, and more. Many of these products are available in multiple sizes, flavors, and potencies. This company has some of the most options we’ve seen from a CBD company yet.

Innovation 5/5

Charlotte’s Web’s products mostly match what is currently available in the marketplace. With that said, it was one of the original innovators in this space — many others in the industry based their products around Charlotte’s Web’s initial success.

Safety 5/5

Charlotte’s Web offers an in-depth batch system to track the third-party test results for every single bottle of product the company produces.

We had a browse through a dozen or so of these tests and found no indication of quality issues. Every batch we found was completely clear of heavy metals, pesticides, residual solvents, and microbial contamination.

Customer Service 5/5

Charlotte’s Web offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. There are phone numbers and an email address listed on the website, and the company encourages customers to reach out with any questions.

We found the customer service staff to be helpful and knowledgeable.

Charlotte’s Web Company Review

About the Company: Charlotte’s Web

Charlotte’s Web began as a result of the case of Charlotte Figi, a young girl who suffers from Dravet Syndrome (a rare and severe form of epilepsy).

After trying every medication available without success, out of desperation, her family turned to hemp.

The family contacted the Stanley Brothers (founders of Charlotte’s Web) to develop a hybrid strain of marijuana that produced a high CBD content with very low THC. This is now the standard practice for the industry and the very definition of hemp. But at the time this was unheard of — most marijuana breeders were focusing on the delta 9 THC levels of the plant instead.

The results were incredible. Charlotte’s symptoms significantly reduced, and her quality of life dramatically improved.

This event kick-started the CBD industry in America. After Charlotte’s success, thousands of Americans began looking to CBD to treat a variety of conditions.

Since then, Charlotte’s Web has been featured in many prominent and reliable news publications including 60 Minutes, The Wall Street Journal, TIME, NBC, and more.

Charlotte’s Web offers an excellent range of CBD products including CBD oils, CBD balms, CBD capsules, CBD isolates, and CBD pet oils.

Where Does Charlotte’s Web Hemp Come from?

All of Charlotte’s Web is well known for the quality of its hemp and is one of the few CBD suppliers that actually owns its farms. Charlotte’s Web hemp is non-GMO, organic, and grown in Colorado, Kentucky, and Oregon — all regions that are renowned for their hemp-growing climate. The farms use only natural pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.

Charlotte’s Web provides highly detailed test results for all of its products. The company tests for the cannabinoid content, solvents, heavy metals, and pesticides. The company can also send you the batch test results for your particular product.

However, it’s important to note that these tests are conducted internally.

CBD oils are the quintessential CBD product — virtually every CBD company has a CBD-infused oil in their lineup. These products make CBD easier to dose, they have a long shelf-life, and they’re rapidly absorbed into the body.

Total CBD: 210 – 6000 mg

Charlotte’s Web has many different CBD oils in its lineup, and each option has different flavors and bottle sizes to choose from — it can be rather confusing actually.

We recommend sticking with either the 17 mg per mL oil or the 60 mg per mL oil. The larger bottle sizes (100 mL) are more expensive but save you a lot of money in the long run.

2. CBD Capsules

CBD capsules are quite similar to tinctures. They are suggested for people who are often on the go and need something easy and portable. We usually recommend these to people who take other supplements or medications as well because it’s easier to toss a capsule or two in with the rest of your stack instead of introducing a new dosage medium — such as a CBD oil.

Charlotte’s Web has two capsule options — a low-potency option (15 mg) and a medium-potency option (25 mg).

While both are very well made and contain a high-quality full-spectrum hemp extract — most people should stick to the higher, 25 mg CBD capsules to avoid having to take multiple capsules at a time.

3. CBD Topicals

Topical CBD is the best option for pain or inflammation affecting the muscles, joints, skin, or connective tissue. The best CBD topicals contain a relatively high concentration of CBD (over 4 mg/mL), and other supportive herbs and nutrients.

Read the review for the Hemp Infused Balm for more information on that product specifically.

The Hemp Infused Cream contains 300 or 750 mg of full-spectrum CBD hemp extract.

This is a full-spectrum product which means you’ll be getting more than just CBD. There are more than a hundred cannabinoids in hemp, although the most famous two are THC and CBD.

4. CBD Pet Oil

Dogs and cats have just as much to benefit from CBD oil as humans. This is why CBD pet oils exist — they offer a relevant dose of CBD oil and pet-friendly flavors to make dosing CBD oils easier with your animal.

You can get CBD oils for dogs, and CBD oils for cats.

What Does Charlotte’s Web Do Well?

If you’re a seasoned and regular CBD user looking specifically for tinctures, Charlotte’s Web might be a good choice for you. However, if you’re looking for cheaper or innovative products, there are companies offering similar products for less and others that are pushing boundaries.

1. Veterans Discounts

If you’re a CBD veteran, Charlotte’s Web’s 100 mL tinctures work out to be a pretty good deal, especially when you purchase the high-CBD-content products. However, for those of you who are looking to try a new product or are entirely new to the world of CBD, the smaller 30 mL bottles are expensive compared with competitors.

2. Innovators in the Space

Charlotte’s Web was a major reason public interest in CBD is what it is today. They were the breeders that created the original high-CBD strain that helped Charlotte Figi regain a lot of her quality of life — aptly named “Charlotte’s Web”.

it was from this story that scientists, media outlets, and the general public first started to become aware of the usefulness of CBD products, to begin with. These guys were ahead of their time.

3. Large Range of Products

Charlotte’s Web has many of the products that you’d hope to see from a large CBD supplier. Additionally, many products are available in multiple, sizes, flavors, and potencies.

Ordering from multiple CBD suppliers can be a huge headache and shipping charges can add up.

Charlotte’s Web is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a one-stop shop for all your CBD products — which makes your life easier and can help you have a more consistent experience with your CBD health supplements.

Safety & Third-Party Testing

In this blog post, Charlotte’s Web states that the hemp plants are tested every five days during harvest season.

They also offer a helpful batch system that allows customers to enter the batch numbers found on each bottle. This will allow them to download the third-party test specific to the product they’re holding in their hand. This is a great feature, and one of the most user-friendly ways of checking the quality and potency of the product they purchased.

The Verdict: A Classic Choice For CBD Products

Charlotte’s Web is generally more expensive for similar products when compared with competitors, except for the high-potency oils.

These products work as they’re intended but unless you’re purchasing in bulk or one of their more expensive high CBD, 100 mL bottles, you may be spending nearly double the normal price for similar products.
