JuJu Royal Review

Unfortunately, we don’t rate JuJu Royal as a great CBD company. There aren’t any specific red flags, but there isn’t anything that particularly stands out, either. Although it uses high-quality, domestically grown hemp and supercritical CO2 extraction, and lists third-party lab test results for all its CBD products, it is clear that JuJu Royal’s strength lies in its THC-rich marijuana strains. The CBD options are very limited, with only one CBD oil tincture — the most popular type of CBD product — and a lack of other popular forms such as capsules and gummies.

Mission/Charity 3/5

According to the company website, JuJu Royal’s aim is to promote cannabis legalization, freedom, and love. This is a fairly generic mission statement, although it’s strengthened by the claim of donating 1% of all profits to benefit veterans who use cannabis.

Hemp Source 4/5

The hemp used to make JuJu Royal CBD products is of high quality: it’s grown organically in Colorado and certified by the Department of Agriculture. In addition, the CBD is CO2 extracted, and there are third-party lab test results available. The only thing lacking is proper USDA certification for the organic hemp — which we expect to see in the coming years as this becomes more achievable by American hemp farmers.

Product Range 2/5

JuJu Royal has a fairly limited offering of CBD products: a CBD tincture with one concentration, limited CBD vape juices and related vape products, and CBD-infused olive oil. The company does not specify whether the CBD contained in its products is full-spectrum or not, which may be a problem for those wishing to benefit from the entourage effect.

Innovation 3/5

JuJu Royal uses supercritical CO2 extraction, which is considered the gold standard for hemp extracts. It is also one of the few companies offering CBD-infused cooking oil. Outside of that, however, the company does not seem to be particularly innovative.

Safety 3/5

JuJu Royal provides limited information on product safety and CBD education in general. The only safety-related information comes from the third-party lab test results, which confirm that the products contain as much CBD as advertised but no more than 0.3% THC, and lack foreign matter, mold, and mildew.

Customer Service 4/5

JuJu Royal has a telephone contact number and an email form to handle customers’ questions. The company also offers a standard 30-day return policy for unused items. They must be in the same condition that you received it as well as in the original packaging, and you must pay for the shipping costs.

About the Company: JuJu Royal

Like his late father, Julian Marley is a follower and promoter of Rastafarianism — the religious movement that promotes cannabis use for spiritual reasons.

The company’s main focus is on THC-rich marijuana products and related items, such as grinders, apparel, and vaping accessories. However, it also offers a range of CBD products made from hemp grown organically in Colorado.

Although JuJu Royal has a strong, unique brand image, there is nothing that stands out about the company besides its famous founder. It seems like THC-rich marijuana is its focal point, but it’s expanded into CBD as an afterthought because of its recent rise in popularity.

Where Does JuJu Royal Source Its Hemp?

The hemp used for all JuJu Royal products is grown organically in Colorado and certified by the state’s Department of Agriculture. The only thing lacking is proper USDA certification for the organic hemp — which we expect to see in the coming years as it becomes more achievable by American hemp farmers.

In addition, JuJu Royal provides third-party lab test results for all of its products. These results confirm that the products contain high levels of CBD and are free from foreign matter, mold, and mildew.

JuJu Royal Products

As noted above, JuJu Royal focuses primarily on THC-rich cannabis products rather than CBD. However, the company does sell a CBD tincture, CBD vape juices, disposable vape pens, and vape cartridges, as well as CBD-infused olive oil.

Total CBD: 1500 mg
Potency: 50 mg/mL
Cost per mg CBD: $0.06
Extract Type: Unspecified
Flavors: Mango, Mint, Pineapple-tangerine
THC Content: <0.3%

JuJu Royal sells a single 30 mL CBD tincture containing a total of 1500 mg of CBD or 50 mg per mL, which is high potency. It contains a standard mixture of CBD oil, terpenes, and MCT oil and comes in three flavors: mango, mint, and pineapple/tangerine.

JuJu Royal has added its own blend of proprietary steam-distilled terpenes to make the product “broad-spectrum” while maintaining the lower cost of tinctures made using a CBD isolate. Therefore, at $0.06 per mg of CBD, it’s good value.

Total CBD: 250 mg
Potency: 250 mg/pen
Cost per mg CBD: $0.20
Extract Type: Unspecified
Flavors: Pineapple, Tangerine
THC Content: <0.3%

JuJu Royal offers a 5 mL disposable CBD vape pen that contains 250 mg of CBD. It comes in either pineapple or tangerine flavor. This is ideal for people who are new to vaporizing, as there are no equipment or additional products required. However, it’s worth noting that once the battery runs out, you’ll be unable to use any liquid that’s left in the cartridge.

At $0.20 per mg of CBD, it seems quite expensive at first, but when you consider that this price includes the vaporizer itself, it’s much more reasonable. It contains isolated CBD with added terpenes for a “broad-spectrum” feel.

Containing a total of 250 mg of CBD, it’s a fairly standard potency for a CBD vape cartridge.

3. CBD Vape Cartridge

Total CBD: 250 mg
Potency: 250 mg/cartridge
Cost per mg CBD: $0.19
Extract Type: Unspecified
Flavors: Pineapple/Tangerine
THC Content: <0.3%

JuJu Royal also offers a 5 mL vape cartridge containing 250 mg of CBD isolate and added terpenes in either pineapple or tangerine flavor. You will need to have a vaporizer battery already, as it’s not included with this product.

At $0.19 per mg of CBD, this product is fairly expensive and only slightly less than the disposable vape pen. However, it’s worth noting that, unlike the disposable vape pen, there’s no chance of wasting any of the liquid as it can be used with a rechargeable battery.

Containing a total of 250 mg of CBD, it’s a fairly standard potency for a CBD vape cartridge.

4. CBD Vape Juice

In addition to disposable CBD vaping products, JuJu Royal offers a selection of CBD vape juices to use in vaporizers. These are ideal for people who already own a vaporizer and are looking to enter the world of CBD.

Priced at $0.10, $0.12, and $0.17 per mg of CBD, depending on which potency you choose, they’re a little on the pricey side compared with similar products on the market, especially when you consider they’re not full-spectrum (it contains JuJu Royal’s mix of CBD isolate and added terpenes).

The vape juice is available in three CBD strengths (300 mg, 600 mg, and 900 mg) and three flavors (Kingston Cream, JuJu Fruit, and Reggae Splash). This is a good variety that will suit both new and experienced CBD users alike.

5. CBD Olive Oil

Finally, JuJu Royal offers one unique type of CBD product: CBD-infused olive oil. As the name suggests, this product mixes 237 mL (8 oz) of olive oil with 250 mg of full-spectrum CBD and one of three herbal flavors: jerk, rosemary, or basil. This product can be used for salads, dipping bread, and cooking.

The potency is low, at only 1.05 mg of CBD per mL, but it’s intended as a CBD-infused rather than CBD-based product, so this is to be expected. Priced at $49.00 or $0.20 per mg of CBD, it’s expensive for a low-potency product; however, it’s fairly specialized, and you’re paying for the olive oil and flavoring as well as the CBD.

Safety and Third-Party Testing

All of JuJu Royal’s CBD products are tested by Botanacor — a Colorado-based, third-party testing lab.

The results of these tests are available on JuJu Royal’s website as Certificate of Analysis (COA) documents, which can be accessed with or without a batch number.

These test results are relatively recent and confirm that JuJu Royal’s products contain as much CBD as advertised, are safe from mold and mildew, and contain no more than 0.3% THC.

What Does JuJu Royal Do Well?

JuJu Royal stands out for using organically grown, pesticide-free, Department of Agriculture-certified hemp cultivated in Colorado.

In addition, the company uses supercritical CO2 extraction, which is widely regarded as the industry gold standard for high-quality hemp extracts. It also offers third-party lab test results for all its CBD products to prove their potency and legal THC levels.

What Could JuJu Royal Improve?

Without a doubt, JuJu Royal is lacking in CBD expertise, which is highlighted by the limited selection of CBD products. The company offers only one CBD oil tincture — the most popular type of CBD product — and does not sell other popular forms such as capsules or gummies.

Furthermore, information about the company’s manufacturing practices is not listed in a comprehensive, clear manner, further highlighting the lack of attentiveness to its CBD products.

Lastly, JuJu Royal does not use full-spectrum CBD, instead using a CBD isolate with added terpenes. Full-spectrum is considered superior to a CBD isolate because of the synergy between the many active components of cannabis, which produces something called the “entourage effect.”

JuJu Royal’s Shipping and Returns Policies

JuJu Royal offers first-class, priority mail, and priority mail express shipping to all 50 US states, as well as worldwide. The charge is calculated depending on where you live before you complete the purchase.

JuJu Royal has a 30-day returns policy. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging, and you must pay for the shipping costs. The company website states that you will be notified of the approval or rejection of your refund.

Final Verdict: JuJu Royal Uses High-Quality Hemp But Lacks CBD Expertise

In conclusion, we do not recommend JuJu Royal as a CBD brand. There aren’t any specific red flags, but there isn’t anything that particularly stands out, either.

Although the company uses high-quality, domestically grown hemp and supercritical CO2 extraction methods — plus lists third-party lab test results for all of its CBD products — it is clear that JuJu Royal’s strength lies in its THC-rich marijuana strains.

It seems that the CBD product line is an afterthought, offered as a way to cash in on the growing popularity of CBD in the US. This becomes especially apparent when looking at interviews with Julian Marley — the brand’s founder. While Julian is clearly a promoter of cannabis and Rastafarian culture, he does not seem interested in, or even aware of, the possible unique potential of CBD.

Overall, therefore, we would recommend buying CBD products from a different company.
