Ignite was founded in 2017 by Dan Bilzerian. Since its founding, the company has grown significantly, adding new products to the lineup every couple of months.
We love Ignite’s CBD products. The team’s attention to detail in the design, formulation, and quality of the ingredients is outstanding.
Recently, the company partnered with Bō Vaping to release a line of elegant cartridge-based vape pens with incredible functionality. They taste great, offer a decent dose of CBD, and won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
Read on to learn about what we love about Ignite, what products it sells, and where we feel the company could improve.
Mission / Charity4/5
Ignite is selective about its growers, cultivators, and manufacturers to achieve effective and safe CBD extracts.
The company aims to remove the negative stigma associated with CBD and cannabis — and is doing a great job at backing this up. While we can definitely get on board with this mission, it lacks the generosity or drive for innovation we’re looking or to give full points in this category.
Hemp Source3/5
Ignite doesn’t list the hemp source on its website, so we reached out to them. The company sources its hemp from the United States Pacific Northwest.
There’s no mention of organic hemp on the company website, but all products are lab tested for quality and potency reassurance. All Ignite products are made with a highly refined CBD isolate.
Product Range3/5
Ignite is a newer company and has an excellent product range for a company of this size. The company sells tinctures, topicals, vape pens, clothing, and accessories. The company also has a line of CBD-infused toothpicks that are actually a lot better than you might expect.
Innovation5/5
Ignite has a fairly basic lineup of CBD products — but covers all the staple products, with a few innovative options like its aromatherapy-based roll-on oils, and its American Birch CBD-infused toothpicks.
Ignite is also one of the first companies to sponsor professional athletes as part of its marketing campaign.
Safety5/5
Although Ignite doesn’t list its third-party test results on the public website, its customer service team will provide them when asked. We were able to find copies of recent testing on all the products we requested, including heavy metal, cannabinoid profile, and pesticide tests.
Ignite only uses CBD isolate in order to ensure there’s no trace of THC in any of its products.
Customer Service5/5
Ignite offers a 30-day no-hassle return policy for unopened and unused products. When we reached out to Ignite’s customer service team, they replied within 24 hours with detailed and well thought out responses.
It’s also one of the most active companies on social media — reachable on public Instagram, Facebook, and Twitch accounts.
Ignite was founded by Dan Bilzerian — an
infamous poker player and internet personality. Using his extensive social
media reach, Bilzerian grew a small CBD startup into a large organization in a
short period of time.
Recently, Ignite signed UFC champion Brian Ortega as one of the company’s sponsors. This marks the second major sponsorship the company has signed following the signing of motorcycle racer Dean Wilson.
Ignite has an active Twitch channel for live streaming events and other activities that the company is sponsoring. It’s an intriguing idea, but it seems as though these live streams have very little to do with cannabis or CBD.
Ignite has a smaller product catalog than many of the
more well-known CBD suppliers in the industry — but it’s picking up
steam quickly. Ignite recently teamed up with Bō
Vaping to create a line of high-grade pre-loaded CBD vape pens and cartridges.
Ignite currently sells tinctures, vape oils, vape pens, and… toothpicks.
That’s not a typo. Ignite is the first company we’ve come across offering CBD toothpicks. It’s an unusual idea, which we’ll explore in more detail below.
All Ignite products are made using CBD isolate and offer no full-spectrum options at this time. Ignite uses short path distillation extraction methods, which can yield highly concentrated, consistent, and pure extracts free from solvents and impurities.
Recently, the company has come under fire for its poor spending habits — the company posted a loss of 67 million dollars in 2019, and even worse in 2020. It’s unclear whether Ignite will be able to turn things around and survive, or not.
What Does Ignite Sell?
Ignite has a limited
range of CBD products that include disposable and reusable vapes, tinctures (or
drops as Ignite calls them), and toothpicks.
Ignite CBD Drops are a fairly standard offering — consisting of CBD isolate, MCT oil, terpene flavorings, and stevia. They’re available in four flavors; lavender, blood orange, tropical fruit, and unflavored.
The company only offers its CBD Drops in one size and CBD
strength. Each bottle is 30 mL (1 oz) and contains
1000 mg of CBD — giving it a total concentration of 33 mg per mL of oil.
Ignite CBD Drops can
be taken orally or applied as a topical directly onto your skin.
Ignite sells disposable and reusable vape pens — but doesn’t sell its vape oils on their own.
A) Ignite Disposable Vape Pens
Ignite disposable
vape pens are organized into three categories:
Recharge — To “energize, refresh,
and get excited.”
Calm — To “relax and
unwind, just chill.”
Lucid — To “stay clear and balanced.”
Each category
apparently provides different benefits, but there doesn’t seem to be any
difference between each variety aside from its flavors.
You can find these pens in the
following 7 flavors:
Category
Flavors Offered
Recharge
Tropical Fruit, Tangerine
Calm
Pink Chill, Lavender
Lucid
Apple Berry, Spearmint, Blood Orange
Each disposable vape pen contains 250 mg of CBD and
delivers 1–2 mg per puff. Each pen costs $44.99.
B)
Ignite ONE Reusable Vapes Pens
Ignite partnered with Bō Vaping to make these
attractive CBD vape pens. They feature an elegant design and a convenient
cartridge system.
The battery is held in the lower portion of
the pen, which can be recharged and reused. The top part with the mouthpiece
contains the CBD, a carrier oil, and the heating element. When the CBD is
finished, the whole cartridge can be thrown away.
Ignite One reusable vape pens are sold on their own for $39.99. You can also purchase it with a vape pod for $59.99 or two pods for $79.99.
The vape pods are
available in two flavors: tropical fruit and blood orange. Each vape pod
contains 150 mg of CBD and is sold separately for $19.99.
The pods and pen are
a proprietary design — which means they’re not compatible with other vape
products.
The last product in
Ignite’s CBD lineup is toothpicks. Yes, as in the wooden sticks you use to get
trapped food out from in between your teeth.
This is a gimmicky
product, as the founder Dan Bilzerian is known to often sport a wooden
toothpick in his mouth. This is not meant to treat or prevent any illness but
offers a truly unique way of getting CBD into the body — unlike anything
we’ve ever seen.
With that said, each
pick contains 25 mg of CBD and vitamin B12. This is a relatively high dose of
CBD, especially for a product like this. Most of this CBD will be absorbed
through the small capillaries underneath the tongue while you chew on the
toothpick.
They’re made from
North American birch wood — a hardwood used for woodworking — to give them
an attractive appearance and a fresh flavor. The toothpicks also come in the
company’s signature Lucid, Calm, and Recharge options.
These toothpicks come in 6 flavors:
Cinnamint
Menthol
Mango mint
Lemongrass
Passionfruit
Coffee
For best results, we
recommend chewing on these picks for as long as possible to absorb as much of
the CBD as possible.
Each pack comes with 10 CBD toothpicks for $29.99.
Safety & Third-Party Testing
Ignite only uses natural ingredients such as hemp oil, MCT oil, and natural flavorings and sweeteners. The company sources its hemp from reputable farms in the Pacific Northwest of the US.
Ignite states that its products are free from heavy metals, pesticides, and solvents. All of its products have been third-party tested but the results are not yet available to the public.
Ignite offers a 30-day no-hassle return policy for all of
its products. However, this only applies to unopened
and unused items.
At the moment these
products are sold in dispensaries across California and online to the rest of
the United States.
Unfortunately, if you live outside the United States, you won’t be able to find Ignite products.
Final Verdict: Top-Notch CBD
Option From One of the Biggest Names in Cannabis
If you’re going to make a
purchase from Ignite, vape pens are the way to go.
They’re a pretty solid product made with CBD isolate at a reasonable price.
They’re available in a ton of flavors, which is a bonus for those of you who
don’t like the earthy taste of CBD.
However, we’re not as sold on the CBD Drops. They have great taste, but there isn’t anything in particular that makes them stand out from the crowd. With that said, if you’re looking for a basic CBD oil completely free from the psychoactive THC — this is still a good option.
For
novelty products, Ignite CBD toothpicks are sure to be a conversation starter
and provide an effective dose of CBD and vitamin B12. This is perhaps one of
the classiest toothpicks ever made.
Ignite is on a steady track towards failure as a company if they don’t turn things around soon. Dan Bilzerian has been using the company as his own personal checking account and slowly driving the company into the ground. With a 67 million dollar loss last year, and on par to match that this year, things need to change with the company in a hurry if they aim to survive for a couple more years.
