Ignite CBD Toothpicks

Ignite CBD is a new player in the CBD industry. It was founded by poker player and social media star Dan Bilzerian — famous for his extravagant lifestyle and posse of supermodels.

This edgy company offers all the staples — CBD oils, capsules, and e-liquids — but they also offer some more unique products…

CBD toothpicks are exactly what they sound like — toothpicks that have been coated in CBD extract. As you pick and chew on the toothpick, the CBD is slowly drawn out of the North American birchwood and into the mouth. The longer you chew these toothpicks, the more CBD you get.

This product may sound ridiculous, but with 25 mg of CBD per toothpick — these things pack a punch.

Price/Value 4/5

If your goal is to pick your teeth, these toothpicks are widely overpriced. If you’re looking for a Bilzerian style way of taking low doses of CBD, these toothpicks are the way to do it. At $30 per pack of ten, you’re paying about a dollar per toothpick — which isn’t bad considering each one holds 25 mg of CBD. That works out to around $0.12 per milligram of CBD, which is cheaper than a lot of CBD capsules and gummies.

CBD Potency 4/5

Each toothpick contains 25 mg of CBD, which is an excellent mid-level dose. The only catch is that not all of this CBD enters the body, a lot will remain left behind stuck in the tough wooden fibers of the toothpick.

The longer you chew these picks, the more CBD we absorb, but we’re very skeptical the whole 25 mg is absorbed. Based on the effects, we’d estimate around half the CBD contained in these toothpicks enter the bloodstream.

Hemp Source 4/5

Ignite sources all of its hemp from the United States Pacific Northwest. The company claims all its products are free from heavy metals, pesticides, and solvents and has third-party testing to back it up. Unfortunately, you have to reach out to Ignite directly to get these tests, which aren’t posted on the website.

There are no USDA organic certifications for Ignite’s hemp at this time.

Purpose/Uses 5/5

Toothpicks are an excellent choice for those of you looking for a discreet way of using low doses of CBD.

Let’s also not forget; this product is still an excellent device for picking the teeth clean after a meal. Each pick is made from a solid spike of North American birch. The CBD is a mere byproduct from this product and shouldn’t be relied on as the primary source of CBD for the body — stick to the oils and capsules for that.

However, the CBD in this product is well-suited for managing local inflammation — like swelling and irritation of the gums, for example — making this a truly epic device for good oral hygiene.

Product Variations 5/5

Ignite’s CBD toothpicks are available in three unique formulas and six different flavors. Each variety is available in packs of 10, and every toothpick contains 25 mg of CBD. In the context of CBD toothpicks, this is an excellent selection.

Formulation/Ingredients 5/5

Ignite CBD toothpicks are made with birch — which is a very durable wood. These toothpicks will last much longer than those cheap excuses for toothpicks you’ll find at family restaurants. These picks can take about an hour of chewing before they start to splinter apart in your mouth.

On top of CBD, these toothpicks are also infused with vitamin B12, melatonin, spilanthes, L-theanine, and caffeine — all of which add to the overall effects of this product no matter how subtle they are.

Ignite CBD Toothpicks Review

Article By

The first time we heard about these toothpicks, we couldn’t help but make fun of them. Why would anybody need a CBD-infused toothpick? How could there ever be enough CBD per pick to give any notable level of benefits?

The truth is this product is pretty clever. With 25 mg of CBD infused into highly durable birchwood — these picks are very well made.

The hard birch wood is strong enough to be chewed on for long enough to allow most of the CBD to diffuse into the mouth. Here is can help with local pain and inflammation in the mouth and enter the bloodstream through the small capillaries underneath the tongue for more systemic effects.

In this review, we’ll explore what we love about this product, and what we don’t. We’ll also cover why we find this unconventional CBD supplement so useful.

Overview: CBD Toothpicks

What are CBD toothpicks? They’re pretty much exactly what you might imagine. They’re little wooden sticks, like the ones you’d use to clean your teeth after a meal, soaked in a blend of CBD and other nutrients.

These picks are designed to slowly release CBD into the mouth as you chew, pick, and hold the wood in your cheek. Ignite CBD claims that each stick offers up to 45 minutes of CBD exposure.

Ignite offers a good selection of flavors with its CBD toothpicks. They’re available in menthol, cinnamint, mango mint, lemongrass, passionfruit, and coffee flavors — which is world-class in terms of selection for something as novel as a toothpick.

Like all of Ignite’s other products, the toothpicks are made with CBD isolate — each one holds 25 mg of CBD.

The sticks are also infused with spilanthes — a herbal extract that increases saliva production, which in turn pulls more CBD out of the toothpick.

The toothpicks are sold in packs of 10, for a total of 250 mg of CBD. They can be purchased directly from Ignite’s website for $29.99 per pack.

Pros & Cons

Pros Cons

  • Well formulated to make the CBD as available to the body as possible
  • One of the most subtle ways of using CBD
  • Small size makes them very portable
  • Offers a steady stream of CBD to damaged or inflamed areas of the mouth

  • Made from CBD isolate
  • Not all CBD is extracted from the pick while you chew

 Key Features & Benefits

1. Excellent Formula

The problem with something like a toothpick is that we need to be able to extract the CBD from the pick so it can enter the bloodstream. To do this, we need time, and saliva to break down the fibers and release the stored CBD.

These picks include spilanthes to increase saliva production and draw as much of the CBD out of the wooden fivers as possible. This is an incredible forethought — and shows the companies attention to detail. This product is not nearly as gimmicky as you might first expect.

2. Subtle Dosage Form

How many times have you seen someone chewing on a toothpick and thought, “I wonder what supplement that guy is taking right now.” Nobody would ever notice you were taking a dose of CBD when you stick a toothpick in the mouth.

If being discreet about your CBD use is important to you, it’s hard to beat a toothpick.

3. Convenient & Portable

These toothpicks are small pieces of wood — you can take them everywhere. Throw them in your gym bag to use after your post-workout snack, your lunchbag to use on your break, or toss one in the mouth on your way out the door. We don’t need to tell you how simple it is to use a toothpick, do we?

About the Company: Ignite CBD

Ignite was founded in 2017 by poker player and social media star Dan Bilzerian — who’s known for hosting wild parties and surrounding himself with celebrities and models. The man has well over 28 million followers. Some have dubbed him the “King of Instagram.”

The company has a fairly small selection of products that includes CBD tinctures, vape pens, and toothpicks. Ignite is relatively new to the scene but has been growing at a rapid pace. The company recently partnered with Bō Vaping to create a line of CBD-infused vaporizers and has other partnerships in the works as well.

Who Should Consider Using Ignite CBD Toothpicks?

CBD toothpicks are a excellent choice for people looking to use CBD discreetly or on the go. They look exactly like regular toothpicks and are small enough to be put into your pocket. At 25 mg of CBD per toothpick, they also deliver a solid dose.

Where CBD infused toothpicks shine is for dental health. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of CBD are perfect for use with sore gums, mild toothaches, and cuts or scrapes in the mouth. The slow-release of the CBD in these toothpicks as you chew them is perfect for alleviating discomfort in the mouth.

These picks are also great for keeping the teeth clean — which is, of course, the sole purpose of a toothpick. The hard North American birch these picks are made from makes them incredibly durable. You can pick away for quite a while before the tip begins to dull, or the wood begins to soften. CBD aside, these are a top-notch option for a regular toothpick.

Price & Value

The cost per mg of CBD for these toothpicks is pretty low at just $0.12. In addition to the CBD, these toothpicks contain L-theanine, melatonin, vitamin B12, and spilanthes. We’ll cover what each of these offer in the formula section below.

Our first impression was that these toothpicks were overpriced, but when you break it down more closely, it’s clear something is going for this unique product option. The best way to compare the cost of CBD products over different price ranges is to look at the cost per milligram of CBD. This accounts for the value of every incremental milligram of CBD in the formula.

These picks only cost $0.12 per mg CBD — which is cheaper than a lot of CBD oils and capsules on the market, and about three times less expensive than disposable vape pens.

 CBD Potency

Each toothpick contains 25 mg of CBD, which is an excellent mid-level dose, and surprisingly high for a product like this.

It’s important to remember that while 25 mg is a pretty good dose of CBD, it’s unlikely all of this 25 mg can be extracted from the wooden toothpick. When we throw the pick out at the end of use, there’s likely going to be a fair amount of CBD left behind.

Based on our experience with using CBD, and after testing these toothpicks — we estimate about half the CBD contained in these wooden toothpicks is extracted and absorbed.

Even at half the dose, this is pretty good coming from a simple toothpick.

 Hemp Source

Ignite doesn’t list its hemp source directly on its website, so we reached out to its support team to learn more. According to ignite customer service rep, the company sources its hemp from the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The company claims its hemp is grown with all-natural practices and free from heavy metals, pesticides, and solvents.

We’re told that Ignite will have third-party test results posted on its website in the near future, but in the meantime, I had to ask for these directly. They were promptly given to us, and we couldn’t find anything wrong with the results.

Purpose/Uses

CBD toothpicks are designed for casual use, and for all the normal uses a toothpick would normally have. We find these toothpicks especially useful if there’s any pain or irritation in the mouth.

At just 25 mg of CBD, and unreliable absorption rates, this product is not intended to be used therapeutically. If your goal for taking CBD is to address a specific symptom, you’re better off going with a CBD oil or capsule.

Product Variations/Flavors

There are three different flavor options for these toothpicks — Calm, Lucid, and Recharge. A pack contains ten toothpicks — each with 25 mg of CBD.

  1. Calm — The calm option is made for those of you who are looking to relax, or need relief from stress and anxiety. Each toothpick contains a microdose of L-theanine and melatonin, which can help you relax and regulate your sleep schedule.
  2. Lucid — The lucid toothpicks are infused with a microdose of Vitamin B12 and best for people who need help focusing or to stimulate your mind.
  3. Recharge — If you’re after a boost of energy, the recharge variety is made for you. Take them in the morning to get an excellent start to your day — the recharge toothpicks contain a microdose of caffeine.

 Formulation/Ingredients

Each toothpick contains 25 mg of CBD, all-natural flavorings, and a few other key ingredients, including theanine, melatonin, B12, and caffeine.

It’s unusual to see ingredients like these even in more common products like tinctures or capsules — these formulas show that Ignite has put a lot of thought into this product.

We’d also like to point out the excellent choice of wood to base these toothpicks on. Ignite chose to use an American birch tree for its beautiful texture and high durability.

Ignite CBD Shipping & Return Policy

Ignite CBD only ships within the United States. Current Government regulations mean its products are also unavailable in Idaho, Ohio, and South Dakota.

Ignite stands by the quality of its products, but if you need to return your purchase, the company offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on these toothpicks.

Final Verdict: A Surprisingly Useful CBD Product

CBD toothpicks sound ridiculous — but there are some real benefits to this innovative product.

First of all, the slow release format involved with using CBD from toothpicks means you can enjoy a subtle dose of CBD over longer periods of time. This makes them perfect for mouth pain or discomfort.

The great flavor and durable birch wood design make these picks great for the sole purpose of a toothpick — to clean the teeth after a meal. The CBD is just a bonus.

While toothpicks shouldn’t be relied on as your primary source of CBD, the 25 mg dose is impressive, and will likely offer at least mild effects to other areas of the body outside the mouth. We feel these picks provide a dose equivalent of around 10 – 15 mg of CBD systemically. The CBD is extracted from the toothpick as it breaks down in the mouth, which is then absorbed under the tongue sublingually.

The bottom line here is that although this product has a gimmicky feel at first, the design the company chose to use for these toothpicks makes them a surprisingly reasonable option for the general CBD user.
