Hemplucid doesn’t provide ideal serving size information, so it’s left up to you to calculate the dosage that works best for your pet.
However, we do recommend to start low and work your way up for practical and safety reasons – too much could be overwhelming.
Because of its lower potency, the 100 mg bottles are ideal for small animals that weigh less than 15 lbs, while the 300 mg bottles will work better for larger animals.
It’s all a matter of experimentation, but do keep in mind that animals don’t require a dose as big as that required by most humans.

On its website, Hemplucid states that it sources its hemp from Colorado due to its higher quality control and experienced growers.
The company also uses ProVerde Laboratories – a testing laboratory specifically designed for cannabis and hemp also based in Colorado – to conduct its third-party testing, which shows the cannabinoid profile, as well as it being free from pesticides, contaminants, and heavy metals.
As a general note, we have been particularly concerned with the USDA Certified Organic stamp shown across a lot of the website – the symbol can be seen second from the right.
In layman’s terms, a USDA Certified Organic stamp means that the item and/or product should contain 95% organic ingredients in its formulation, which means that it should be totally free from pesticides, fertilizers, and dyes, as well as free from solvents, genetic manipulation, and irradiation.
After we’d conducted a search using the USDA’s Organic Integrity Database, which lists every farm or business with the Certified Organic stamp, we found that Hemplucid is not included in this database.
We have emailed a representative about this and this is the response we received:
“I’m sorry for the confusion, I just found out that to be fully organic certified, You have to be in the same fields for a minimum of three years. We recently moved fields a few years ago and will be re-certified in early 2020. I hope this doesn’t affect your work on writing about organic Hemp In America.”
Therefore, be aware, Hemplucid is not currently USDA Certified Organic.

Final Verdict: An Excellent CBD Oil for Pets
Hemplucid has successfully engineered a decent product for the health and well-being of your pets.
The pricing is particularly impressive for such a specialized product; much lower than other companies offering practically the same product.
In terms of flavorings, both the fish and chicken flavors are incredibly beneficial, especially if your cat or dog is a fussy eater. The fact that these are easily administered and can be mixed into other foods is also a huge bonus.
It’s worth noting that whilst administering the product is easy, accurately knowing how much you’re giving your pet can be slightly more challenging, unlike premeasured gummies and other edibles.
As mentioned before, we recommend taking time out of your day to understand dosages, which is something that isn’t explained by Hemplucid.
It’s also worth mentioning that a full-spectrum product can contain THC amongst other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. Though the THC content is very minuscule – not enough to be remotely intoxicating – we understand owners may not want their pets to ingest any of it at all.
If that’s the case, a CBD isolate alternative may be a better option.
Unfortunately, what lets Hemplucid down as a company is its misleading USDA Certified Organic stamp of approval, which is not something it actually has. This misleading information damages the company’s reputation somewhat.
Otherwise, we’re more than happy to recommend this product, not only for its price but for its convenience and taste.
