Green Garden Gold VG Blended CBD Oils

This product is no longer sold by Green Garden Gold.

The Green Garden Gold vape oils come in a variety of flavors and potencies — 6 mg/mL up to 33 mg/mL. These vape oils are said to be made from vegetable glycerin and a full-spectrum hemp extract sourced from certified organic crops.

We have several caveats with this product line, and considering there isn’t a shortage of oils on the market, your money is best spent elsewhere.

Price/Value 3/5

The VG (vegetable glycerin) Blended CBD Oil rings in at an average market price of $0.10-$0.19 per mg of CBD. Its versatility of use as a sublingual oil or vape liquid is appealing to first-time CBD users and experts alike.

We just wish Green Garden Gold was more upfront about what’s in this product. The marketing certainly makes it sound to be a fantastic oil containing a variety of cannabinoids, terpenes, and amino acids — but we’re not convinced there’s anything special about this product.

CBD Potency 3/5

There are 3 CBD potencies available: 6.6 mg/mL, 20 mg/mL, and 33.3 mg/mL. There’s a decent range here for beginners, but this product line is lacking high-strength variations for those looking for severe symptom relief.

Hemp Source 3/5

Green Garden Gold sources and processes its hemp from Colorado, a state with high agricultural standards. The hemp is also certified organic by USDA standards.

We wish GGG provided complete third-party testing for its terpene profile and possible hemp contamination. We’re docking an extra point because it claims to use full-spectrum hemp, yet lab results only revealed three cannabinoids present in the sample.

Purpose/Uses 3/5

GGG doesn’t have a specific use for this product. The VG Blended CBD Oil can be taken sublingually or vaped, which makes it a versatile CBD oil. According to the lifestyle images on the product description page, GGG suggests these oils are suited to treat pain, stress, and promote a healthier lifestyle without the use of prescription medications.

Product Variations 4/5

The VG Blended CBD Oils come in three strengths, two sizes, and seven flavors. This is quite the variety. It’s a shame it doesn’t include stronger potencies.

Formulation/Ingredients 3/5

This is your basic vape oil recipe — vegetable glycerin, hemp extract, and natural flavorings. Vegetable glycerin is used as a base because it produces milky vapor clouds at low heating temperatures. The product description claims this formula includes terpenes, phytochemicals, and amino acids — without complete third-party lab tests, we cannot verify these claims.

Green Garden Gold VG Blended Oils Review

Article By
Katrina Lubiano , last updated on November 16, 2021

The Green Garden Gold VG Blended CBD Oils is a collection of full-spectrum extracts infused in vegetable glycerin and can be taken sublingually, added to your favorite drink, or vaped.

The versatility and wide range of flavors make the VG Oils appealing to both beginners and experienced CBD users alike.

This review examines the manufacturer, GGG, and its VG Oils formula to determine its value as an effective CBD supplement. By the end of this article, you’ll be a more informed CBD consumer.

Product Overview: VG Blended CBD Oils

The VG stands for vegetable glycerin, and it’s what allows this oil to be vaporized and taken sublingually (beneath the tongue).

Vegetable glycerin is a clear, viscose, and odorless substance with a naturally sweet taste. It’s often used in vape liquid formulas because, at low heat temperatures, the liquid vaporizes into a smooth thick cloud.

The VG Oils are said to contain full-spectrum CBD extract and are available in two sizes (15 mL and 30 mL), seven flavors, and three potencies.

Pros & Cons of the VG Blended CBD Oils

Pros Cons
  • Organic hemp source
  • Reasonably Priced
  • Versatile use
  • Not full-spectrum, as advertised
  • Lack of complete third-party lab testing

Key Features & Benefits

1. Vegetable Glycerin Base

Vegetable glycerine is made by removing the fatty acid molecules from plant-based triglycerides, leaving behind pure glycerol (glycerine). Triglycerides are the main constituents of body fat in the human body. Because CBD is fat-soluble, binding it to a base such as an oil or glycerin will make it more readily active when ingested.

Vegetable glycerin is one of the main ingredients in vape oils for its ability to produce milky vapor clouds at cooler heating temperatures. It’s also odorless and has a naturally neutral sweet flavor, which is ideal for adding flavoring to.

Because this product has a vegetable glycerin base, it can be smoked for fast-acting effects or added to food, drinks, or taken directly beneath the tongue. Eating the VG Oils may take longer to feel its effects, but it will last much longer than smoking it.

2. Certified Organic Hemp Source

Hemp source is a crucial indicator for the quality of the final product. Green Garden Gold is off to a promising start with its hemp source.

Green Garden Gold uses high-quality hemp crops for its products. It’s harvested from USDA certified organic hemp frams in Colorado — a state known for its leadership in the cannabis farming industry in the US.

About the Company: Green Garden Gold

Green Garden Gold (GGG) was established in 2014 and offers a wide variety of CBD health products for pets and humans.

In 2016, the Texas-based company received a letter from the FDA outlining compliance issues. GGG was suggesting its CBD products could cure, treat, and prevent disease in its product descriptions, fake testimonials, and blog posts.

GGG has since cleaned up the language on its website, but it still has a long way to go to redeem itself in our books.

For starters, this product claims its a full-spectrum CBD oil — However, third-party lab tests show only three types of cannabinoids were found in the extract.

Its lab tests are lacking results verifying its claims that the product is “packed with terpenes, phytochemicals, and is rich in Omega 3, 6, and 9.” And the Certificate of Analysis provided is missing information about possible hemp contamination — these are standard tests reputable companies opt for.

On top of this, the lab tests aren’t regularly updated. It can take months or sometimes years before new tests are conducted and updated to the site.

Lastly, we wish GGG’s customer service were more responsive. As a company striving “to be best in the industry,” its efforts don’t match up.

Who Should Consider Using the VG Blended CBD Oils?

According to the lifestyle images on the product description page, GGG suggests these oils are suited to treat pain, stress, and promote a healthier lifestyle without the use of prescription medications. It’s also suited to aid in workout recovery after strenuous exercise.

Users may like that these oils have more versatility over hempseed or coconut oil-based CBD oils because vegetable glycerin can be used sublingually, added to drinks, and vaped.

Vaping these oils will increase its bioavailability. Smoking CBD bypasses the digestive process, so the effects are felt much faster, although the trade-off being the effects won’t last as long.

Price/Value

The price range for GGG’s VG Blended CBD Oils is $19.99-$99.99 per bottle, and it’s available in different potencies and flavors.

The average price for CBD Oils on the market ranges anywhere from $0.10-$0.16 per mg of CBD, so GGG oils are priced reasonably well for its category.

In terms of value, we don’t recommend the 100 mg (15 mL) option for its low-CBD potency and price at $0.19 per mg of CBD. Moreover, we don’t think it’s ethical to label these products as full-spectrum when the lab results can’t back these claims — it’s deceitful and we’ll get into this more below.

Cost Breakdown of the Green Garden Gold VG Blended CBD Oil potencies:

Product Name Total Price Total CBD Content Cost per mg CBD
VG Blended CBD Oil — 100 mg (15 mL) $19.99 100 mg $0.19
VG Blended CBD Oil — 300 mg  (15 mL) $45.00 300 mg $0.15
VG Blended CBD Oil — 500 mg (15 mL) $65.00 500 mg $0.13
VG Blended CBD Oil  — 1000 mg (30 mL) $99.99 1000 mg $0.10

CBD Potency

The potency of the VG Blended CBD Oil is run-of-the-mill.

Aside from the 100 mg (15 mL) option, these products have an appropriate strength for mild to moderate symptom relief but lack the extra oomph necessary for severe symptom relief or for someone who requires a much larger dose.

Potency Breakdown of Green Garden Gold VG Blended CBD Oil:

Product Name Total CBD Content CBD Concentration(mg/mL) Potency Level
VG Blended CBD Oil 100 mg — 15 mL 100 mg 6.6 mg/mL Extremely Low
PVG Blended CBD Oil 300 mg  — 15 mL 300 mg 20 mg/mL Low-Medium
VG Blended CBD Oil 500 mg — 15 mL 500 mg 33.3 mg/mL Medium
VG Blended CBD Oil  1000 mg— 30 mL 1000 mg 33.3 mg/mL Medium

Hemp Source

GGG uses Colorado-grown hemp — a state with a great reputation for producing high-quality hemp crops — and it’s USDA certified organic.

We wish GGG provided complete lab results.

GGG needs to update its third-party lab tests on its website regularly. Some products have tests from a few years ago! Every product should be batch tested to maintain quality.

This last report date for the VG Oils is fairly recent. However, it’s not a full test report.

We’re missing the following lab tests:

  • Terpene profile
  • Solvent report
  • Heavy metals contamination
  • Microbial contamination

Additionally, these oils are marketed as full-spectrum extracts to leverage the benefits of the entourage effect, but these oils are hardly full-spectrum.

These are not full-spectrum oils.

“Full-spectrum” and “entourage effect” have become buzzwords in the cannabis industry.

Users seeking CBD for therapeutic benefits often opt for full-spectrum extracts because it maintains the plant’s natural diversity of phytonutrients (cannabinoids and terpenes) that work in synergy to boost the effects of CBD — this is the entourage effect.

Considering these oils only tested positive for three types of cannabinoids (CBD, CBC, and CBN), and we don’t have results for a terpene profile, we doubt these are full-spectrum. This is made with a broad-spectrum extract.

Full-spectrum extracts are expensive. To cut costs, manufacturers will take isolated compounds (CBD, CBC, CBG, and CBN) and mix them to produce a more “natural” looking profile.

It won’t provide the same level of synergy as a proper full-spectrum extract, but it will offer more chemical diversity over CBD isolates.

A complete lab test would clear this up.

Purpose/Uses

Green Garden Gold recommends these oils to help maintain a healthy lifestyle, but it doesn’t list any specified uses (possibly to comply with the FDA). The imagery in the marketing suggests these oils are ideal for pain, sleep, and sports recovery. With a vegetable glycerin base, you get more versatility with the VG CBD Oils as they can be taken orally or vaped.

Dosing will depend on the individual, but GGG says, “most users swallow 15 drops in each use or more, as desired.”

Formulation/Ingredients

The ingredients list on the label of the VG Blended CBD Oil includes vegetable glycerine, hemp extract, and natural flavoring.

This small list of ingredients makes for a basic CBD vape/sublingual oil, but Green Garden Gold also claims to include several beneficial ingredients in its VG oil…

Terpenes

Terpenes are a class of organic compounds produced in plants that contribute to its aroma and flavor. It’s one of the ways we can identify cannabis strains without looking at the bud under a microscope.

Hemp can produce a diverse range of terpenes that are known to have therapeutic effects such as pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, improve concentration, creativity, and more. However, Green Garden Gold does not inform us of which terpenes are included in its product because the VG oils weren’t tested for its terpene profile. This makes it difficult to guarantee the effects of the terpenes— if there are any present.

Phytochemicals

These are a diverse group of plant chemicals that include curcumin, flavonoids, carotenoids, and more. While they do not contain nutritional value, phytochemicals may contain anti-inflammatory antioxidant and antimicrobial properties that aid in improving general health and well being.

Phytochemicals vary in what specific benefits they provide to consumers. Unfortunately, Green Garden Gold does not specify which phytochemicals are included in their VG Blended CBD Oil, nor do have any proof of the phytochemical content.

Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. They are vital to the body functioning normally. Amino acids are made by the body or received through food sources.

BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids) can help with muscle soreness and athletic performance, which is somewhat relevant to the intended purpose of the VG Blended CBD Oils.

However – like all of the other ingredients in this section – there is little information provided by Green Garden Gold that proves and/or specifies the type or content of amino acids in the VG Blended CBD Oils or where it comes from since vegetable glycerin and hemp extract aren’t known to have any substantial amino acid content.

These added ingredients are impressive, but it doesn’t match the lab result provided or the ingredient list.

Product Variations/Flavors

The VG Blended CBD Oil comes in a variety of flavors, some of which are only available in specific strengths.

Availability of flavors:

Potency Per Bottle Banana Cream Pie Blueberry Berry Cinnamint Green Apple Regular Strawberry
100 mg x x x x x x x
300 mg x x x x
500 mg x x x
1000 mg x x x

The 100 mg, 300 mg, and 500 mg bottles are only available in 15 mL sizes (0.5 oz) and the 1000 mg strength is available in 15 mL and 30 mL (1 oz) bottles.

Final Verdict: We Want to Like These Oils, But They Fall Flat

We don’t appreciate it when a company makes promises the product can’t back up. This is precisely the case with GGG’s VG Blended CBD Oils.

The VG Oils are suggested to help with pain, inflammation, sleep, and exercise recovery with full-spectrum CBD extract, phytonutrients, terpenes, and amino acids — but we’re not convinced this product delivers.

The extract isn’t a full-spectrum as advertised, and the third-party lab results are incomplete. We don’t have proof of a terpene profile, and we’re not sure the hemp is free from contaminants.

Considering there’s no shortage of CBD products on the market, you’re better off spending your money on a less deceptive brand.

As an alternative, we recommend Koi CBD. This brand specializes in CBD vape oils – but have other CBD products in its range and is in a similar price range to the VG Blended Vape Oils with a more extensive range of potencies and flavors.
