Best CBD Company Reviews: Top CBD Oil Brands & Manufacturers [2022]

Green Garden Gold Med Pac CBD Oil

These Med Pac Oils are Green Garden Gold’s range of full-spectrum CBD oil in MCT coconut oil. It’s available in three different flavors and five strengths of CBD for added customization. Other than that, there’s nothing overly impressive about these hemp extracts. Its incomplete lab testing and false marketing claims weigh into this negative review.

Price/Value 2/5

The price of Green Garden Gold’s Med Pac CBD Oil is on the average price range for CBD oils on the market. However, considering the lack of information from the Certificate of Analysis on the quality and contents of the extract, we’re not sure these products include all the benefits it claims to have.

CBD Potency 4/5

These oils have a decent potency range from 750 mg to 10,000 mg of CBD. The highest strength per mL is 83.33 mg of CBD. These oils have effective doses, and they have an ultra-high potency formula.

Hemp Source 3/5

Green Garden Gold uses USDA certified organic hemp, grown in Colorado for its products. This is one of the highest quality crops because of the state’s strict agricultural standards. We’ve docked points for GGG’s lack of third-party lab testing and outdated lab result for the 4000 mg product.

Purpose/Uses 3/5

These are general-use CBD oil supplements with a decent potency range for mild symptom relief. There are no instructions on how to get the most use out of this product, and it’s not formulated for a specific health concern.

Product Variations 4/5

The Med Pac CBD Oil comes in four CBD potencies from 750 mg – 10,000 mg of CBD, and (except for the 10,000 mg variation) they are all available in five flavors: berry, chocolate mint, lemonade, orange and natural.

Formulation/Ingredients 2/5

The base of these oils is MCT coconut oil, which is typical for CBD oils. The product description says this formula is packed with terpenes and amino acids, but we’re not sure where the amino acids come from. If it’s from coconut oil, there are only trace amounts.

Without a complete Certificate of Analysis, we can’t verify if there are any terpenes in the extract. There’s nothing original in this formula you can’t find anywhere else.

Green Garden Gold Med Pac CBD Oil Review

Article By
Katrina Lubiano , last updated on November 16, 2021

We’re reviewing the Med Pac CBD Oil. The flavors and wide range of CBD strengths are excellent features we like to see offered in CBD oils. On the plus side, this allows users to customize their CBD dosing. Unfortunately, Green Garden Gold may have its hands in too many products to produce a CBD oil to our standards.

We’ll cover all you need to know about the Med Pac CBD Oils to help you determine if these oils are worth a try.

Product Overview: Med Pac CBD Oil

The Med Pac CBD Oil collection is Green Garden Gold’s product line of full-spectrum hemp extract blended with medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) coconut oil. It’s available in 4 strengths ranging from 750 mg of CBD to 10,000 mg and three flavors; berry, chocolate mint, and natural.

Outdated and incomplete Certificate of Analysis (CoA), a history of misinformation on the effects of its products, and lack of attention to detail all weigh into this negative review.

Pros & Cons

Pros Cons
  • Comes in various CBD strengths and flavors
  • USDA organic hemp
  • Old and limited lab reports
  • Expensive for its average quality
  • Not certain these oils are full-spectrum

Key Features & Benefits

Wide Variety of Potencies and Flavors

We like to see companies come out with variety in their products. With 4 strengths from 750 mg to 10,000 mg, you’re bound to find an oil that best matches your dosing needs for the best value of your money. To add to that, there are three flavors to choose from to make taking your oils a much more enjoyable experience.

About the Company: Green Garden Gold

Green Garden Gold (GGG) offers a wide range of CBD products made with USDA-certified organic hemp. The products under its umbrella include oils, capsules, pet treats, gummies, beauty products, and muscle rubs.

While this seems like an impressive list — and we do enjoy variety — we’re wary of companies that offer too many products. It’s challenging to provide a wide selection of products and still maintain high manufacturing standards.

Now, onto the scandal.

The trouble started in 2016 when the FDA reprimanded the brand for its absurd claims about its CBD curing and treating diseases in product descriptions, fake testimonials, and blog posts.

GGG has updated its website to comply with the FDA, but it still has a long way to go to redeem itself in our books. It can start with up-to-date and complete third-party lab results and responsive customer service.

Who Should Consider Using the Med Pac Oils?

Enjoyed by beginners and experienced CBD users alike, CBD oils are easy to dose, deliver consistent results, and have a long shelf life.

CBD oil is used to help alleviate symptoms:

  • Anxiety
  • Muscle spasms
  • Pain
  • Inflammation
  • Seizures and convulsions
  • Nausea and vomiting

CBD supplements are becoming a popular, non-pharmaceutical option to treat these symptoms and maintain general health.

GGG recommends customers consult with their doctor before taking new dietary supplements. The website and packaging lack information on how to dose and properly use these products — leaving this information in the hands of its customers.

If you’re looking to learn more about CBD oils — what makes for a high-quality product, how to properly dose, and where to find the best in the industry — you’re in luck! We’ve put together a guide for CBD oils to help you navigate this space.

Price/Value

The average 30 mL bottle of 750 mg CBD Oil usually costs about $70.00 — that’s $0.09 per mg of CBD.

Green Garden Gold’s Med Pac Oil is within the average — but the company and the oils are below average products. In a highly competitive CBD market, these oils just don’t stand out from the crowd.

Cost Breakdown of Green Garden Gold’s Med Pac’s Strength Options:

We appreciate it when companies offer a wide spectrum of CBD potencies. This allows customers to personalize their CBD supplement regime. Because of the outdated third-party Certificate of Analysis, avoid the 4000 mg option (more on this below).

How does one go about properly dosing the Med Pac Oils?

Green Garden Gold doesn’t provide any dosing information for the Med Pac CBD Oil. The website has a basic FAQ with some general information on dosing:

Q. How much CBD should I take?

A. This is a tricky question to answer because each person metabolizes it differently. You may need more or less depending on a myriad of factors including (but not limited to): weight, gender, tolerance, the severity of symptoms, and more. We recommend starting with 10-15mg once a day. You can change up or down from there, depending on how you feel. If you are not finding a sense of relief, take bigger doses or take it more often. If you find yourself becoming lethargic, take less.

As GGG mentions in the answer, CBD affects everyone differently. Your interaction with CBD can vary depending on a number of factors, and your dose will depend on what symptoms you’re trying to treat.

The general rule of thumb when it comes to dosing CBD is to start low and go slow. Here’s a chart with recommended dosing potencies by weight:

Daily Doses of CBD by Weight and Desired Strength (in mg)

Weight (lbs)Low StrengthMedium StrengthHigh Strength
100 lbs10 mg30 mg60 mg

Hemp Source

Green Garden Gold used to source its hemp from Europe and process the plants in Colorado — a fact that put customers off in the past.

Now, Green Garden Gold grows and processes its hemp in Colorado, where the crops are certified organic by USDA standards.

Colorado has very high agricultural standards, with the highest export of hemp in the United States — over 17,000 acres grown in 2018.

If GGG does one thing right, it’s sourcing quality hemp   — it’s a shame the company doesn’t share completed third-party lab results.

Red flag — We need to talk about those lab results.

A savvy CBD shopper knows that checking the Certificate of Analysis, conducted by third-party labs, is one of the most important steps in researching a brand.

Third-party testing is not a requirement in the industry, but it is best practice.

Lab results for each strength of Med Pac CBD oil, and when they were conducted:

Product NameDateLab Result
Med Pac Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract — 750 mg7/ 02/ 2020Certificate of Analysis
Med Pac Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract — 1500 mg7/ 02/ 2020Certificate of Analysis
Med Pac Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract — 6000 mg7/ 02/ 2020Certificate of Analysis
Med Pac Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract — 10,000 mg7/ 03/ 2020Certificate of Analysis

Products can vary from batch to batch, so it’s important to get regular testing for quality control. If the company hasn’t sent for new lab results, could this mean these oils were made in 2020?

CBD oils generally consist of two ingredients — hemp extract and carrier oil. Some companies will add flavorings or other medicinal herbs to enhance the supplement experience.

One way manufacturers will cut costs is by using low-quality carrier oils on the cusp of the expiry date. As these CBD oils sit on the shelves, the carrier oils are going rancid. Even if GGG’s oils are made with high-quality fresh MCT coconut oil, it only has a shelf-life of about two years (if stored in a cool, dark place in an airtight container).

While the other product tests have been conducted recently, GGG is missing some results that we consider to be essential parts of a complete CoA including:

  • Solvent report
  • Microbes report
  • Heavy metals report
  • Terpene report

What we can gather from the third-party testing provided are the cannabinoid profile and its potency. We’ve come across GGG products on its website that were advertised as full-spectrum, but its lab results show it to be a CBD isolate.

This doesn’t look good on the company. If GGG had provided the terpene report, we would be more confident in the quality of this full-spectrum extract.

We prefer full-spectrum CBD extracts for their ability to leverage the entourage effect. This occurs when the beneficial compounds found in hemp work in synergy to enhance CBD’s effects.

Purpose/ Uses

These oils don’t have a targetted use, and there’s not much information on the website product description for a specific use. Its simple formula makes these oils a versatile everyday supplement you can add to your food, drinks, or take sublingually (beneath the tongue) for faster onset of effects.

Product Variations/Flavors

We’ll be honest; the earthy flavor of natural CBD is not a crowd-pleaser. Brands will often use flavors to make CBD Oil more enjoyable.

Green Garden Gold has five flavor options for the Med Pac CBD Oil:

  1. Natural
  2. Berry
  3. Chocolate Mint
  4. Lemonade
  5. Orange

Aside from choosing a flavor, Green Garden Gold also has 4 potency options: 750 mg, 1500 mg, 6000 mg, and 10,000 mg.

Formulation/Ingredients

The base used in the Med Pac Oil is a coconut sourced MCT (Medium-Chain Triglycerides) oil. This is a popular base in the industry because it gives the fat-soluble hemp extract a large degree of solubility within the oil. This is why GGG can offer higher concentrations of CBD oils without the product clumping.

The product description mentions there are terpenes and amino acids added to the Med Pac Oil formulas.

Amino acids are the building blocks of life — they combine together to make proteins. It’s the hemp seeds that contain all 9 essential amino acids required for our diet, and CBD extracts aren’t made with the seeds.

GGG doesn’t specify what amino acids are added or where it comes from, so we can’t confirm there is any present in this formula.

Terpenes are a phytochemical that give cannabis, and other plants, its unique aromas. Terpenes also have therapeutic benefits, especially when combined with other cannabinoids. However, we’re not sure if there are any terpenes in these oils because it isn’t included in the Certificate of Analysis.

Green Garden Gold’s Shipping and Return Policy

Free shipping is offered for orders over $100 in the US, and international shipping is available at a reasonable flat rate of $12.

Within 30 days after the initial purchase, you can request a free shipping slip from the GGG customer service for unopened products and receive a full refund. If the product is opened, GGG will consider a refund or exchange on a case-by-case basis, and shipping will come at the expense of the customer.

Final Verdict: No Redemption for Green Garden Gold

We don’t recommend the Med Pac CBD Oil by Green Garden Gold.

There are hundreds of CBD brands out there — and new ones emerging daily. We recommend you look elsewhere before purchasing the Med Pac CBD Oils by GGG.

The incomplete and outdated lab results prove a lack of transparency and attention to detail when it comes to its products. Whether this is due to marketing incompetencies or because the company has too many products under its name, it’s a deal-breaker for us.

Royal CBD has a great range of full-spectrum oils if you don’t mind spending a little more for premium products.
