We haven’t reviewed a company as incognito as FlavCBD to date. The company’s “About” page doesn’t mention the CEO, company owner, company backstory, or even where the company was founded. 

There’s no knowing how or why the company came to be, or what its company mission is. 

Fundamentally, FlavCBD is an e-commerce store. The company does provide some educational material about different CBD consumption methods as well as federal and state law surrounding CBD.

While this is awesome, such a vast product range sometimes means that quality is compromised. Consumers should keep this in mind when shopping at FlavCBD. Plus, the company doesn’t provide any documentation to prove quality and assurance, and this definitely works against it as a company.

Finally, FlavCBD makes several claims about the quality of its products. The company claims to use “100% organic, lab-tested cannabis”, but does not provide a CoA to support this claim.

FlavCBD CBD Chocolate Bars are expensive for CBD edibles, which is interesting because FlavCBD’s gummies and candies range are considerably cheaper. Without a detailed list of ingredients, we also can’t be sure whether the company is using “the finest ingredients,” as it says. 

Perhaps FlavCBD’s Chocolate Bars are suitable for people who like chocolate and are searching for a novelty CBD experience. However, the ingredient list is unknown. So maybe some of those same people should avoid it if there is the potential for an allergic reaction.

FlavCBD provides some educational material about the benefits of using edible CBD. When CBD is ingested, effects can be felt for up to 6 hours. This is ideal for those needing longer-term relief from chronic pain, anxiety, or nausea, for example. Plus, cacao is also suitable for those experiencing anxiety or depression, so this is a tasty concoction for these ailments.

Aside from this, FlavCBD gives no specific instructions for who should use this product or how. It’s expensive, so those short of money probably won’t enjoy the prices.

When compared to other CBD edibles, FlavCBD Chocolate Bars are expensive. With that being said, there aren’t many companies offering CBD chocolate bars. This might be where FlavCBD has some leverage to charge more than a typical CBD edible. The price might be explained by “the finest ingredients” used in the product, too. But without a list of ingredients, that’s impossible to prove.

Each chocolate bar contains 100 mg and ten individual pieces, each containing 10 mg. We consider this an average potency CBD edible. At the same time, it’s hard to eat a single square of chocolate. It might be that FlavCBD made a lower dose so that a person doesn’t have to stop at one!

Hemp Source

Like a lot of things with FlavCBD, the hemp source is a mystery. The company does claim to use “100% organic, lab-tested cannabis”, but doesn’t provide a CoA for its customers or any reference to the hemp source. 

We emailed FlavCBD asking for a CoA, but with no avail.

We think it’s important to highlight the hemp source and to provide a CoA for customers. It shouldn’t be the responsibility of customers to ask for a CoA. Companies come across as more trustworthy when they give the CoA openly on the website. At the very least, we were not impressed that FlavCBD didn’t provide the CoA upon request.

Hemp is susceptible to contamination from soil, including pesticides, heavy metals, and microbial activity. Not all of this gets removed during processing, so it is vitally important for consumers to know what is in each and every hemp sample sent for testing. Without this information, there’s no assurance of the safety of FlavCBD products.

Purpose/Uses

Although FlavCBD doesn’t offer any specific instructions or purpose for this product, it can be deduced. 

Cacao is considered a powerful antidepressant — and in fact, it also contains anandamide, a cannabinoid that is also endogenous to the human body. However, the antidepressant effects of cacao are more pronounced when the beans are left unroasted.

CBD is also used as an antidepressant, and research continues to emerge about the efficacy of CBD as an antidepressant. With these factors in mind, the concoction of CBD and cacao may make for a potent anxiolytic and antidepressant mix. 

CBD and cacao are complementary to each other in more ways than one, especially for emotional or psychological disturbances such as anxiety or depression.

The Final Verdict: Expensive Chocolate, Average Potency

If FlavCBD offered customers a reason to pay $20 for a chocolate bar, it might be worth the money. But without an ingredient list or any proof that organic, 100% lab-tested cannabis is used, why should consumers throw caution to the wind? This isn’t true for all FlavCBD products, because some of them are cheap and probably worth trying. But when it comes to the chocolate bars, they are expensive and unjustified for being so.
