HempWorx Hemp-Infused Coffee
Hempworx makes a lot of different CBD products, some better than others. We’ve found these coffee products to be some of the companies poorer options. For example, the coffee comes with a very low CBD content (5 mg) and uses what we’ve determined to be some seriously low-quality coffee reminiscent of 24-hour diners. To make matters worse, the company is charging a premium for this product.
The creamer is quite a bit better in terms of taste, but offers the same CBD content, and high price tag. We’re also skeptical that the “keto” ingredients are doing anything at all at doses this low. It seems to us that Hempworx is trying to sell these products based on trending buzzwords like “keto” and “CBD” rather than by offering any real benefits.

At $0.46 to $0.92 per milligram of CBD, this instant coffee is expensive. Unfortunately, due to the low potency (5 mg per packet), and low-quality coffee used to make this product, we consider this product below-average in terms of value. There are plenty of other CBD coffee products available at the same or lower cost that tastes much better and delivers a better dose of CBD.
This product is made up for somewhat by the creamer option — which allows users to double up on the dose to get more CBD and allows people to use their own coffee instead.

With only 5 mg CBD per packet, this coffee is too low potency to provide most of the benefits associated with CBD. Although your dose may vary, we prefer taking closer to 15 or 20 mg with our coffee. This means that you’ll need to supplement this CBD coffee with CBD oil or capsules to get this dose — which defeats the whole purpose of using this product to begin with.

Hempworx uses organic, non-GMO hemp grown in Kentucky, one of the first American states to begin cultivating hemp on a wide scale following the 2014 Farm Bill. The company also claims to use organically-grown hemp to manufacture their products, but have not yet achieved the certifications to prove it.

Hempworx CBD coffee and coffee creamers have a clear use — to provide the general health benefits of CBD while reducing the side effects of coffee. Unfortunately, the CBD dose is too low to satisfy these purposes. Several of us here at Daily CBD tested this product for a few days and all but one of us were very disappointed with the effects of this product.

Products like this are hard to find — so we wouldn’t expect there to be a wide variety of products in this category. The company does offer the option of using instant coffee with CBD or adding their CBD-infused creamer to your usual cup of coffee instead. Most CBD coffee companies will at least offer some different roasts, or a decaf option — making it hard to justify a higher score than this.

The formulas used in Hempworx CBD coffee and coffee creamers are poorly thought out. The CBD content is so low, and the coffee used to make these products is comparable to that of a diner. Chaga is also included in the formula — which is a popular medicinal mushroom species. This ingredient is also contained in far too low concentrations to be of any real use.
Again, this rating is boosted somewhat by the option to purchase a CBD-infused creamer instead — which allows users to choose their own coffee and allows for the option to double up on the creamer to achieve larger doses of CBD.

HempWorx Hemp-Infused Coffee Review
With the CBD market continuing to develop, a host of exciting new products are emerging onto the scene. One particularly popular new trend is CBD-infused coffees — such as this hemp-infused coffee by Hempworx.
Adding CBD to coffee makes sense for two reasons: it directly inhibits some of the key side-effects of coffee (like jitteriness and anxiety), and it makes it easy to incorporate CBD into daily routines that are already well-established like drinking your morning coffee.
Coffee is the most popular stimulating beverage in the world. As many as 2.2 billion cups of coffee each day around the world.
The popularity of the beverage is hard to deny, but there are some unfortunate side-effects associated with it like jitteriness, and anxiety. CBD is being used in combination with coffee for its ability to curb most of the side-effects of the coffee.
In this review, we’ll be looking specifically at the Hempworx coffee and coffee creamer packets — both infused with 5 mg of CBD per package. Spoiler alert: we’re not a fan of this product, we recommend going with something like Buddha Beans Coffee Co. coffee instead for your CBD coffee fix.
Overview: Hemp-Infused Coffee
Hempworx is a Las Vegas-based CBD brand offering a variety of different CBD products in their lineup. The company is noted for using organic, Kentucky-grown hemp in all its products — including this coffee and creamer.
We’re off to a good start.
1. Taking a Closer Look at the Hemp-Infused Coffee
Their coffee product contains 30 packets of instant Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) infused with 5 mg CBD each for a total of 150 mg CBD per box. Arabica coffee is the most popular coffee species due to its pleasant flavor compared to other species like Coffea robusta. Robusta is much more bitter but has significantly higher caffeine content. A lot of the unpleasant coffees sold at 24-hour diners will use a blend of arabica and robusta coffee in order to provide as much caffeine as possible — at the cost of the flavor.
Hempworx has chosen to use Arabica coffee — however, some of us here at Daily CBD are”snobs” when it comes to coffee, and these instant coffee packs taste very much like a blend of robusta and arabica to us. It’s bitter, lacks depth, and has a strong caffeine effect.
Whether this is a good or a bad thing is up to your own preferences and why you’re drinking the coffee to begin with. If you just want a kick in the morning, this will do the trick — but if you’re looking for a fresh brew of delicious coffee, we suggest looking else where.
This coffee also contains Chaga mushroom extract — which is a type of fungus found growing on birch trees. It has a flavor very similar to coffee, only without any of the caffeine. A lot of people use this fungus as an alternative to coffee when trying to avoid caffeine. It also provides a wide range of medicinal benefit — primarily on the immune system. A lot of cancer patients use this herb to support their immune system while it battles cancer.
We love that this company has added chaga to the mix, but can’t justify this as a plus because the dose used in this formula is much to low to be of any real use. The dose for this particular mushroom is much higher than what’s contained in the package.
2. Taking a Closer Look at the Keto Creamer
If you don’t drink coffee, or want to use your own beans, Hempworx also supplies the equivalent dose of CBD (5 mg) in the form of a single-use creamer packet as well. In our eyes, this is the better product as it allows you use better coffee, and gives the option of adding multiple creamer packs to achieve a higher CBD dosage — which is too low in its current form to be of any real use in combatting the side-effects of the coffee.
This product is marketed as a ketogenic coffee creamer — which means it’s designed to be very low in sugar, high in fat, and includes other ingredients that support the metabolism of fats for energy.
These sticks include a proprietary blend of MCT oil powder and plant-based extracts such as:
- Garcinia cambogia
- White kidney bean
- African mango
All of these ingredients are added to stimulate fat-burning to support ketosis. However, the addition of CBD in this package doesn’t add much value to the rest of the formula (especially in such a low dose). Additionally, these packets only contain small amounts of these other ingredients, which is unlikely to provide many benefits in their current form.
If using this product, we recommend using two or even three at a time instead, in order to get a dose that’s going to produce anywhere near the level of benefits suggested by the company.
These creamers are also offered in three different flavors: mocha, vanilla, and hazelnut.

Key Features & Benefits
1. It’s Convenient
One of the main benefits of CBD coffee is its convenience. Each packet comes pre-measured with just the right amount of coffee for a single cup. All you need to do is add the contents of the packet to a cup of hot water and stir it around. Simple as that.
The creamer is very similar, although you’ll first need to make a pot of coffee before adding the creamer to the brew.
Since the CBD is already included in the packet, you don’t need to fuss around with oils or remember to take any capsules either.
2. Fewer Side-Effects From the Caffeine
It is common to experience anxiety and related side effects such as nervousness when drinking coffee, especially if you are susceptible to the stimulating effects of caffeine.
CBD is often used to counteract many of these side-effects. Most people will take a capsule of CBD or use oils alongside their coffee — but in this product, it’s already included for you.
Some people find this product has fewer side-effects than similar coffee without CBD. We agree but found this coffee to still produce some of these effects despite the CBD content of the packet. Your experience may differ.
3. THC-Free
This CBD-infused coffee is guaranteed to contain zero THC. This is particularly helpful for individuals who are extremely sensitive to the effects of THC and those who need to pass routine marijuana (THC) drug tests. It also means these products can be sold legally across the United States, and much of the developed world as well without any legal issues.

Hempworx is based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. They’re a daughter company of My Daily Choice — which was founded in 2014 by Josh and Jenna Zwagil.
My Daily Choice is an affiliate-based company selling all kinds of health and wellness products. The companies business model is to use their network of affiliate marketers to sell their products to friends, family, and through running events and meetups.
The company has had a controversial past, with numerous complaints entered into the Better Business Bureau about their marketing techniques.

Who Should Consider Using Hemp-Infused Coffee?
Hemp-infused coffee isn’t meant to be a primary source of supplementing CBD and shouldn’t be relied on as such. If you’re using CBD for a particular reason, whether it’s a symptom or medical condition, CBD oils, capsules, topicals, and even vaping are all much better ways of getting CBD into the body.
CBD is added to coffee primarily to reduce the unwanted side-effects of the coffee. The antispasmodic and anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects of the CBD make it perfect for taking the edge off the negative side-effects of the coffee.
This particular coffee and keto creamer don’t offer enough CBD to be of any real therapeutic value, so people interested in using this coffee need to remember that. If your goal is to find an instant coffee packet with a decent dose of caffeine, and small amounts of CBD as a general health supplement — this is certainly a good option.
If you’re looking for top-notch fresh coffee or a strong dose of CBD — we suggest you keep looking.
Price/Value
Arguably the biggest weakness of these two products is price — $69 is simply too expensive for 30 packets of coffee containing 150 mg of CBD in total or 15 creamer packets with 75 mg. That works out to around $2.30 per coffee — which is about the same or equal to a standard cup of coffee in most parts of the world.
Of course, having CBD included in the package is going to jack the cost of this product up, so let’s compare this to using CBD oil along with coffee instead.
The price of CBD oils can vary a lot, but in general, the average cost per milligram is about $0.12. So 5 mg of this is going to run you an extra $0.60 on top of whatever coffee costs in your local area. I’ll let you work out the economics of how that compares to these $2.30 packets of instant coffee.
To us, we prefer to use a CBD coffee offering a higher dose of CBD, or simply add some CBD oil or take a CBD capsule along with our normal coffee.

CBD Potency
As we’ve mentioned, these CBD coffee products have a fairly low potency with only 5 mg CBD per packet/stick. For some people this may be enough to do the trick — however, for most this dose is much too low. We’ve found that in order for an average-sized adult (both men and women), we need about 10–20 mg of CBD with a normal cup of coffee to counteract the side-effects of jitteriness and mild anxiety after drinking a cup of coffee.
Of course, as always, your experience may differ.

Hempworx uses non-GMO hemp grown on organic Kentucky farms, one of the first American states to seriously focus on hemp cultivation following the 2014 Farm Bill. Since this time, there has been a new farm bill (2018) which has further opened up the hemp cultivation regulations.
Hemp is now legal to grow across the United States without the need for any special licensing — giving even more farmers access to this valuable crop.
As a byproduct of these recent changes, certifications are now possible for proving the organic status of hemp. This process is slow and expensive, but there are a number of companies working their way towards achieving USDA certified organic status.
If (and when) Hempworx is able to achieve this certified organic status, they will be receiving full marks for their hemp sourcing — however, in the meantime, we can’t yet prove the quality or organic status of the hemp this company uses to manufacture its products.
Formula/Ingredients
These coffee products use innovative formulations. Most notably, both the coffee and creamers include plant-based extracts with some research-backed health benefits, such as chaga, while the creamer includes botanical extracts like white kidney bean and garcinia cambogia.
These ingredients are great for a product aimed at the ketogenic diet followers because they have all been shown to support fat metabolism — something that is of the utmost importance while following a ketogenic lifestyle.
However, the packets are very small, and there are a lot of ingredients included in the formula that needs to be taken in relatively high doses to be effective for this purpose. We just can’t see how there is enough of these ingredients to do what’s promised in this regard.
Hempworx Shipping and Returns
Hempworx ships internationally and fees to ship can range from $15 in the United States, to $70+ internationally.
In order to purchase from the company, you’ll need to first set up an account. For another $20 you can become one of their affiliates — which is not something we would ever recommend.
You have 60 days to return your order but must return the entire order. So if you purchased several different products and want to return just one, you’ll have to send the whole thing back.
Final Verdict: Innovative Products Undermined By Low Potency And High Price
The idea behind CBD-infused coffee and coffee creamers is promising: an easy and convenient way to take CBD to improve your health while simultaneously counteracting the anxiety induced by caffeine.
Unfortunately, the problem with Hempworx’s CBD-infused coffee is that the 5 mg CBD dose is simply too low.
This much CBD is hardly enough to reduce caffeine-induced anxiety, let alone provide the general health and wellness benefits of CBD, especially when taking CBD orally is the least effective way to use it due to poor bioavailability (absorption).
If you’re set on trying out CBD-infused coffee, we would recommend a product with higher CBD concentrations and a lower price, such as those sold by companies specializing in CBD-infused coffee like Buddha Beans Coffee Co.
