Although advertised as full-spectrum CBD pet treats, the Doggy Be Good CBD Oil Treats contain 2 mg of CBD isolate per biscuit. GGG needs to be mindful of its marketing claims. There’s nothing particularly bad about this product. It contains a reasonable amount of CBD for small-medium pets, is free from nasty ingredients, and has a decent flavor range. It would’ve received a higher rating in our books if it was more upfront about the extract used.
The soft chews are on the pricer end in this product range — but overall, these are reasonably priced CBD treats for small to medium-sized dogs. It would score higher if the treats had a little more substance by including other healthy ingredients.
2 mg of CBD per treat is a fair dose for small to medium-sized dogs to relieve mild symptoms of pain, anxiety, or inflammation. For larger dogs or for dogs who need a stronger dose to treat conditions, this product won’t deliver the potency needed without snacking on all the treats in the package.
Green Garden Gold uses organically grown hemp from Colorado. The extracts are made using supercritical CO2, the gold standard of extraction methods. GGG loses a point for its lack of complete third-party lab testing to verify hemp quality.
GGG doesn’t make any health claims about the Doggy Be Good CBD Oil treat. These treats are designed to help to make dosing your dogs with CBD easier so they too can reap the benefits CBD has to offer.
If GGG went above and beyond in any aspect of this product, it was to include three different treat variations in flavor and texture. Our only suggestion in this category is to offer stronger potencies for large dogs.
There’s nothing innovative about this formula. These are basic dog treats infused with hemp extract. We’re docking points here because GGG claims to use full-spectrum CBD extract for the entourage effect — third-party lab results show only CBD present in the formula.
Adding CBD supplements into your pet’s routine can benefit your furry companion’s well being and help to address symptoms of pain, anxiety, and inflammation.
We’ve looked into many varieties of pet-specific CBD products. In this article, we’ll be covering one of Green Garden Gold’s pet products, dog biscuits.
We’ll give you all the information you need about Green Garden Gold’s Doggy Be Good CBD Oil Treats to help you determine whether or not these products will make a great addition to your pet’s diet.
CBD-infused dog treats simplify dosing CBD for your pets. With 2 mg of CBD per biscuit, there’s no need to measure oils or mix it in with other foods.
The Doggy Be Good CBD Oil Treats come in three formulas:
One jar of biscuits contains 70 treats, and the beef flavored soft chews contain 40 treats per bag.
Now, let’s get into what we like and didn’t like about the product.

Having CBD incorporated into a pre-made dog treat will make administering CBD to your dog a breeze. It’s even available in different flavors, so you’re bound to find a flavor your pet will love.
Each treat is pre-measured to contain 2 mg of CBD, so there’s no need to measure oils or sneak capsules into their food.
The pet food industry is notorious for containing nasty ingredients like food dyes, rendered fats, and harmful preservatives. There’s nothing dangerous in GGG’s pet treats, so you can feel good about giving these snacks to your pets.
We’re not sure what happened here. GGG says its made with full-spectrum CBD oil in the formula. However, the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) conducted by a third-party lab determined it uses a CBD isolate.
This was easy to spot. The most common test provided by CBD companies will show the cannabinoid profile and potency of the product.
GGG claims to use a full-spectrum CBD extract to leverage the benefits of the entourage effect, but it doesn’t look like there’s anything but CBD in the extract.
Worried your pet will get high from THC? Don’t. Most full-spectrum extracts contain less than 0.3% THC, so you don’t have to worry about the side-effects associated with psychoactive formulas.
Hemp has over a hundred different therapeutic compounds. Full-spectrum CBD oils contain most of the plant’s original chemical profile to employ the entourage effect. The compounds work synergistically to produce more significant health benefits than CBD can do on its own. While CBD isolates aren’t necessarily a bad thing, we prefer full-spectrum CBD products for this reason.
Whether this error was due to an out-dated lab result or careless product copywriting, we’re not impressed — it’s a red flag for us when a company makes false claims.
Green Garden Gold (GGG) has a massive CBD product catalog for pets and humans — over 20 different products with potency and flavor variations.
While we do appreciate choices when it comes to CBD shopping, it can be difficult for a company to maintain high quality across the shelves. Third-party testing for batches and quality control can be a costly endeavor.
In 2016, GGG received a letter from the FDA outlining fraudulent information on its website in the form of product descriptions, blog posts, and fake testimonials.
GGG has since resolved these infractions, but the brand still has a lot of work to do to clean up its reputation. This includes customer transparency with timely customer service communication, complete and current third-party lab tests, and providing the correct information about its products.
For example, the Doggy Be Good CBD Oil Treats are not made with full-spectrum CBD. The lab-results show these treats are made with a CBD isolate extract. GGG should pay more attention to claims such as this.
Like humans, our dogs have an endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays a role in regulating our mood, stress, and the immune system. The ECS acts like a read-receipt to maintain balance within different systems. It communicates what systems may need more or less of. This is how CBD offers many health benefits, though it does work better when combined with other therapeutic ingredients to support a specific condition.
These treats aren’t formulated for any single condition like GGG’s Dog Hip and Joint Formula Capsules. Green Garden Gold claims these dog treats promote your pet’s general well-being as an easy to administer CBD supplement.
With the right dose of CBD, you can help improve your pet’s quality of life by:
Your pet may react differently to CBD and other ingredients found in the treats, so you should always monitor your pet after dosing.
Green Garden Gold does not provide any specific uses for its Doggy Be Good CBD Oil Treats.
This is problematic for us because giving your pet too high of a dose can result in the following side-effects:
Our pets can’t tell us when something’s not right, so we need to be extra cautious when dosing our pets.
The general rule of thumb to follow is to start your pet on a low dose and increase the doses gradually. You can increase your dose every few days until you’ve noticed the desired effects in your pet — improved mood, reduced stress, and anxiety, relief from pain, joint mobility.
Dog Size | Low Dose | Moderate Dose | Strong Dose |
Large (over 50 lbs) | 12 mg – 25 mg | 25 mg – 35 mg | 50 mg – 60 mg |
Medium – Large (30 – 50 lbs) | 7.5 mg – 12.5 mg | 15 mg – 25 mg | 30 mg – 50 mg |
Medium – Small (10 – 30 lbs) | 2.5 mg – 7.5 mg | 5 mg – 15 mg | 10 mg – 30 mg |
Small (5-10 lbs) | 1.25 mg – 2.5 mg | 2.5 mg – 5 mg | 5 mg – 10 mg |
These treats are made for pet owners who are looking for a simple CBD treat for their small-medium sized dog (under 30 lbs) at a modest price range.
You can always expect a bit of a price mark up for anything marketed for pets. At $0.25-$0.37 per mg of CBD, these pet treats come at a reasonable value for CBD isolate products.
If you have a larger pet, you won’t find the best value for your money here because your dog will require more treats to reach a higher CBD dose.

The Doggy Be Good CBD Oil Treats contain 2 mg of CBD per treat. This may seem absurdly low for human standards, but 2 mg is perfect for small pets.
Aside from being much smaller than us, dogs’ livers process cannabinoids differently than ours do. While CBD is considered safe and well-tolerated, cannabinoids stay active for much longer.
2 mg of CBD per treat is a good starting point for small to medium-sized dogs, but the Doggy Be Good CBD Oil Treats aren’t the most efficient way of dosing larger dogs in need of severe symptom relief. Larger dogs will need more biscuits to hit the desired dose.
These treats can work in combination with other CBD products such as capsules and oils to reach the desired dose for your pet.
Dosing should be approached with caution. Starting low and increasing slow is the rule of thumb when first introducing CBD to your pet’s diet. There is a simple equation to follow that makes finding the perfect dose easy.
Simply multiply 0.25 (for a mild dose) or 0.5 (for a stronger dose) by your pet’s weight in lbs.
Ex: 0.25 x 16 lbs = 4 mg
In this example, a 16 lbs dog who requires mild symptom relief should consume about 4 mg of CBD a day.

Green Garden Gold’s hemp is sourced from Colorado and is certified organic. Colorado has the highest export of hemp plants in the United States and is known for its excellent production quality.
Why does organic matter?
Organic farming processes ensure the hemp crops won’t come into contact with harmful pesticides that can affect the final outcome of the hemp extract. Unfortunately, GGG cannot fully back this claim due to incomplete third-party lab testing.
The Certificate of Analysis provided by GGG on the product page verifies only the cannabinoid profile and potency of the treats.
Third-party testing is not mandatory, but they’ve become best practice in the industry. These lab tests hold the CBD company accountable to its marketing claims and keep customers safe from contaminated products.
We wish GGG would provide these tests on its website. If the products are as good as they claim to be, there’s nothing to hide.
All mammals have an endocannabinoid system (ECS) in which CBD interacts with. Because of this, our canine companions can stand to benefit from the therapeutic properties of CBD too.
GGG doesn’t mention any specific uses for these treats. CBD has been shown to improve your pet’s quality of life by helping to support the ECS. The ECS is a modulator for other vital systems such as the sleep-wake cycle, the stress response, and hormone system.
The dose of 2 mg of CBD is appropriate for smaller dogs, but you might need a few more treats or another form of CBD supplementation to support more severe symptoms.
As we’ve mentioned earlier, Green Garden Gold claims to use a full-spectrum extract. However, the third-party lab results show that CBD is the only cannabinoid present in the formula.
There are no beneficial ingredients aside from CBD in the formula of the Doggy Be Good CBD Oil Treats. All additional ingredients are used to give the treats structure and flavor, and we like that there’s nothing nasty in the ingredient list. Cheap pet treats tend to contain harmful compounds like rendered fats, nasty preservatives, and food dyes.

Dogs are not commonly gluten intolerant, but having a gluten-free option is an excellent addition to the product range.
The soft chew treats are also a welcomed variation. It’s ideal for dogs with sensitive teeth — at the end of the day, it all comes down to your pet’s preference.

GGG needs to pay careful attention to how its products are marketed. The CBD industry is known for its lack of regulation. It’s new, and there are hundreds of competing brands — but it’s the company’s responsibility to put forth the right information about its products.
In terms of cost and value, these treats are reasonably priced — but there’s nothing innovative about the formulas.
