Best CBD Company Reviews: Top CBD Oil Brands & Manufacturers [2022]

Diamond CBD Chill Coffee Pods

These CBD-infused coffee pods from Diamond CBD have some of the highest CBD content in a premixed coffee product we’ve seen yet.

CBD and coffee make for a great combination — CBD is reported to reduce some of the unwanted side-effects of coffee like anxiety, jitteriness, or shaking. At 25 mg of CBD per cup, there’s more than enough CBD to do the trick.

We really like this coffee but wish the company spent more time finding the best coffee beans they could. In terms of taste, this coffee is average.

If the flavor of the coffee isn’t important to you, this is a great choice. If you’re a coffee snob like us though — you may want to opt for one of the premium CBD coffee brands like Buddha Beans Coffee Co. instead.

Price/Value 3/5

If you’re looking for a CBD coffee, Diamond CBD is one of the few suppliers to offer products in this category. At $0.20 per mg of CBD, this coffee is priced quite reasonably.

Other CBD coffees on the market can easily go for more than $0.30 per mg of CBD. Diamond CBD is one of the lower-cost providers but the quality isn’t the greatest either.

CBD Potency 5/5

Each coffee pod contains 25 mg of CBD — which is a pretty solid dose for a CBD coffee. In fact, it’s one of the strongest we’ve seen yet. It may be effective for reducing coffee jitters or managing anxiety, stress, and mild pain.

Hemp Source 3/5

Diamond CBD gets all of its hemp from farms in Colorado, Kentucky, and Scandinavia. All of these regions are well-known for producing high-quality hemp.

Unfortunately, Diamond CBD doesn’t state whether or not its products are organic — so we have to assume they’re not. The company’s third-party test results are also outdated, so they’re not really reliable.

Purpose/Uses 5/5

Diamond CBD recommends using its CBD coffee to promote a sense of relaxation — which may seem contradictory, but we found these coffees to be quite even-keel. They’re strong enough to keep us awake, but there’s a subtle relaxing effect in the background — which no doubt comes from the addition of CBD.

Product Variations 3/5

The coffee pods are only available in one size, flavor, and CBD potency. Diamond CBD doesn’t state where it sources its coffee beans. Diamond CBD would benefit by offering larger boxes than 4 so customers could reduce the cost per pod. We’d also like to see some additional flavors.

With that said, we can’t penalize them too much as CBD coffee is already a niche product that can be very hard to find.

Formulation/Ingredients 4/5

CBD and coffee is an incredible combination  — something we’ve covered in a lot of detail in past articles.

The most important consideration in order to get the combination of CBD and coffee right is how much CBD to use — which we feel is best around the 20 mg mark and above per 12 oz cup. At 25 mg of CBD per cup, Diamond CBD certainly got this formula right.

However, Diamond CBD doesn’t actually list the rest of the ingredients so it’s difficult to give this coffee a perfect score.

Diamond CBD Chill Coffee Pods Review

Article By

Millions of people drink coffee every day. If you’re a daily coffee drinker, it’s definitely one of the easiest ways to introduce CBD into your routine.

CBD coffee is on the rise as more companies are learning the benefits of combining cannabinoids and caffeine. How do you know which is the right coffee for you?

In this review, we’ll take a look at the Chill Coffee Pods sold by Diamond CBD. If you’re in the market for a high-potency CBD coffee, Diamond CBD might be a good choice — but the company raises a few red flags.

Overview: Diamond CBD Chill Coffee Pods

When it comes to its CBD coffee, Diamond CBD only has one option. Every box of coffee comes with 4 pods and each pod contains 25 mg of CBD isolate — for a total of 100 mg per box.

Diamond CBD recommends its CBD coffee as a way to promote an overall sense of relaxation or to reduce the coffee jitters. At 25 mg per pod, it may also provide relief from mild pain, inflammation, stress, and anxiety.

Diamond CBD doesn’t tell us where its coffee comes from — which is an important point for coffee-lovers. If you’re spending the extra money on CBD coffee, it’s good to know where it’s coming from.

A box of Diamond CBD coffee pods can be purchased for $19.99. This works out to $5 per cup of coffee or $0.20 per mg of CBD.

Pros & Cons

Pros Cons
  • Low cost per mg of CBD
  • High CBD content
  • Easy to integrate into your routine
  • No full-spectrum options
  • Unknown coffee source
  • Outdated third-party test results

Key Features & Benefits

1. Low Cost per mg of CBD

Benefit: Spend less on your CBD coffee

At only $0.20 per mg of CBD, this is one of the lower-cost options for CBD-infused coffee. We’re used to seeing CBD coffees for more than $0.30 per mg of CBD — the low cost per mg of CBD makes Diamond CBD an attractive choice to save money.

With that being said, CBD coffees are one of the most expensive ways to get your dose of CBD. Try tinctures, capsules, gummies, or vape oils if you’re on a strict budget.

2. High CBD content

Benefit: Get more CBD with less product

Each pod contains 25 mg of CBD isolate, which is a solid dose for newcomers or an easy way for experienced users to get a boost. For those of you who are looking for a way to crush your CBD goals easily, coffee pods could be a good tool to have.

3. Easy to Integrate Into Your Routine

Benefit: No need to change your habits or learn how to dose

Many people drink coffee on a daily basis. If you’re a daily coffee drinker, Diamond CBD coffee pods will feel natural and familiar. Other ingestion methods like tinctures or vape oils can be intimidating, especially if you’re brand new to CBD.

Feel like a pro by choosing a product you already know.

About the Company: Diamond CBD

Diamond CBD claims to manufacture innovative CBD extracts with the help of doctors and scientists.

Diamond CBD is made up of 10+ other brands — the company is also responsible for Blue CBD, CBD Re-Leaf, CBD Oil Biotech, Chill Gummies, Chong’s Choice, Diamond Hemp, MediPets, Meds Biotech, Yum Yum Gummies, and more.

The company has a broad range of products that includes oils, edibles, creams, bath bombs, drinks, capsules, pet products, and vape oils. You’ll also find full-spectrum extracts and CBD isolates.

Whether you’re just starting your journey with CBD or a long-time user, Diamond CBD should have a potency to suit your requirements — it offers CBD potencies as low as 50 mg all the way up to 3500 mg.

Diamond CBD sources its CBD extracts from Kentucky, Colorado, and Scandinavia — all of which are well-known to have high-quality standards for their hemp plants. The CBD extracts are made with supercritical CO2, which helps to keep the extracts clean and pure.

One thing that should be noted is that Diamond CBD has been accused of shady manufacturing practices in the past.

Researchers at the Virginia Commonwealth University found traces of synthetic cannabinoids and cough syrup in some of the company’s vape oils.

Diamond CBD claims to have changed its formulas since then but the company’s past is a good thing to be aware of.

Who Should Consider Using CBD Chill Coffee Pods?

If you currently use coffee pods to get your daily caffeine fix, Diamond CBD coffee pods are an easy adjustment. At 25 mg per pod, they’re also fairly potent which makes it a quick way to get a head start on your CBD intake for the day.

Price/Value

CBD coffee is one of the more expensive ways to use CBD — but you have to consider the fact that you’re also getting a coffee, not just CBD. When compared to other CBD-infused coffees, Diamond CBD is priced competitively.

If you plan on using CBD every day you’ll probably want to combine your normal coffee with a tincture or capsule to reduce the overall cost. If you’re looking for something more convenient, CBD-infused coffee is certainly a great option.

CBD Potency

At 25 mg of CBD per pod, Diamond CBD offers some of the most potent CBD coffee we’ve seen in our research yet.

If you’re a new user, one pod may be more than enough for an entire day. For you more experienced users, one pod can help you get a headstart on your CBD dose for the day, but you may need to follow up with another dose from a tincture, capsule, or vape pen.

Hemp Source

Diamond CBD sources its hemp from Colorado, Kentucky, and Scandinavia. All of these places have generally high standards for hemp. The company also claims that its products are non-GMO.

Diamond CBD provides third-party test results for its extracts but they’re outdated — some of the posted test results are from 2017.

For our full recommendation, Diamond CBD needs to update its third-party test results and use organically grown hemp.

Purpose/Uses

Diamond CBD coffee pods are a great option for those of you who are new to CBD and want an easy way to try it out for yourself. Most of us have had coffee in our lifetime which makes it a simple alternative to vape oils or tinctures.

The coffee pods are also great to leave a few in your desk at work for those days when you need a boost.

Product Variations/Flavors

Diamond CBD’s coffee is only available in one size, flavor, and potency.

We don’t expect a huge selection for CBD coffees because they’re a fairly specialized product — but one option is a little disappointing.

The company also doesn’t provide any insight as to where its coffee comes from — if you prefer to know where your coffee is coming from, we recommend Buddha Beans Coffee Co as an excellent alternative.

Formulation/Ingredients

Diamond CBD doesn’t give us any information regarding the ingredients of its coffees. We assume that they just contain ground coffee and CBD extract but we can’t be sure.

However, the company does tell us that the coffee is made in a facility that contains nuts, eggs, soy, dairy, wheat, and gluten. You may want to avoid this coffee if you have severe allergies.

Diamond CBD Shipping & Return Policy

Diamond CBD offers a 15-day return policy for unused and unopened products. The company is one of the few that pays for return shipping.

Currently, Diamond CBD only ships within the United States. Any orders over $100 are eligible for free shipping. The company also offers expedited shipping for a fee.

Final Verdict: One of the Few High-Potency CBD-Infused Coffees — but a Few Red Flags

Diamond CBD is one of the few companies that offer CBD coffee, which makes it worth a try if you’ve had limited success elsewhere. What makes it stand out is the amount of CBD per cup — which is around 25 mg.

For reference, most other CBD coffees only provide 5, 10, or 15 mg of CBD per cup. We believe the perfect dose for most users to get the maximum benefit is around 20 mg per 12 oz cup — so this product definitely fits the bill.

However, Diamond CBD raises a few red flags. First, the accusations of synthetic cannabinoids and cough syrups are enough to make us wary. Its third-party test results are also extremely outdated — which makes them unreliable.

Diamond CBD coffees also fall short in the actual coffee itself — which isn’t the best to be completely honest.

If you’re a coffee snob, we recommend going with a company like Buddha Beans Coffee Co. instead for their strong attention to detail in where the coffee they use comes from, and how it’s roasted.

For people who don’t care so much about getting premium coffee, this is a decent option to try out.
