CBD Bath Bomb are a great way to relax at the end of a long day at work or after the gym. As far as bath bombs go, this is a great affordable option by cbdMD — one of the largest manufacturers of CBD products in the world. Each bath bombs comes with 100 mg of CBD, which is decent as far as bath bombs go. They come in a variety of different colors and aromas and are made using real essential oils. Highly recommended.
This product is fantastic value, especially when compared with other products with similar quality and CBD potency. This company is one of the most reputable in the CBD space. Everything is tested for quality and then tested again.
In terms of cost per milligram of CBD, this product is on the low end by all comparisons.
100 mg of CBD per bath bomb is a good dose and should be effective enough for most casual users to feel benefits. However, this method of using CBD isn’t very efficient. For more serious symptoms, you’ll be better off with something a little stronger — around the 200 mg range.
cbdMD’s hemp is sourced from the US, specifically Colorado and Kentucky. It’s all organically grown, and third-party lab results are available on the website. Once this company achieves certified-organic status, they’ll receive a 5-star rating in this category.
This product is intended as a way to reduce muscle tension, relieve stress and mild anxiety, and support dry or irritated skin. For these applications, the dose and ingredients use in these bombs are very reasonable. Only the most severe of symptoms will likely require something stronger.
cbdMD offers a good variety of scents and colors for this product. Additional essential oils have been incorporated to provide further benefit. There isn’t much we can complain about here, there’s plenty of different options here for people to find something that stands out to them.
These bath bombs come with some top-notch formulas — containing relatively high amounts of CBD, along with other beneficial essential oils depending on the intended use. You can determine what the company intends each bath bomb to be used for by their names.
For example, the Relax bath bomb contains calming lavender for helping you relax before bed.
Whether you work at a desk or spend the day on your feet, most people come home feeling at least a little tense after a long day.
I know that for me, there was nothing better than soaking in a hot bath after a long day at work — especially in winter. I would add Epsom salts and bath melts to unwind. I found this practice really helped me relax enough in the evenings to fall asleep.
Others report using bath bombs like these to help their muscles recover after a strenuous workout.
The real question is whether adding CBD to a bath bomb is necessary — or even useful.
cbdMD certainly thinks so! It’s released an entire lineup of CBD-based bath bombs, so let’s check them out and see if they’re all they’re cracked up to be.
cbdMD offers a variety of vibrant bath bombs infused with CBD as well as therapeutic-grade essential oils from plants like frankincense, lavender, and eucalyptus.
While it isn’t the most effective way to feel the effects of CBD, a CBD bath bomb is an excellent way to treat yourself and relax. The reason I say it’s not the most effective is that you’re essentially taking a dose of 100 mg (which is high by all standards), and dissolving it into around 300 liters (80 gallons) of water — effectively diluting the CBD to very small concentrations.
Of course, the longer you soak in this dilute CBD water, the more it absorbs into the skin and muscles. For this reason, we highly recommend being patient with CBD bath bombs if you want to get the most out of them. You really can’t be in a rush.

cbdMD is one of the larger CBD companies we’ve reviewed. They’re one of the official sponsors of Bellator — the MMA fighting organization.
This company uses CBD isolates in most of its products and claims to add a variety of terpenes and amino acids to their formulas as well to enhance the entourage effect of their final products. However, the third-party lab tests don’t always reflect those claims. Some results show plenty of CBD content but lack the terpene and other cannabinoid levels.
This company makes a ton of great products — tinctures, topicals, vape oils, and these bath bombs. We recommend and use most of them ourselves and are interested to see what the company comes up with next.
Their recent dive into the world of professional fighting with Bellator is likely to bring some interesting athletics-inspired products to their lineup in the near future.
Taking time out to relax should be an essential part of anyone’s self-care regime, and having a relaxing bath is one of the best ways to spend that time. These cbdMD bath bombs are a great tool to help you achieve that.
But why choose a CBD bath bomb for your tub time?
Well, there are many benefits of using a topical CBD product in your bath — they may help with things like:
If you enjoy laying back in the tub with a good book, music, or Netflix (with your device a safe distance away, of course!), then these CBD bath bombs would be a great tool to integrate into your lifestyle.
Are cbdMD Bath Bombs Expensive?
With 100 mg of CBD in each $9.99 bath bomb, this product is about average in cost compared to similar CBD bath bombs.
The price for these products seems high for a single-use product at around $10 per bath. What you need to keep in mind is that you’re using 100 mg of CBD — which is a lot more than you would use in a single dose of CBD oil or capsules. This, of course, brings the price up.
You have to use this much CBD though in order for the product to work after it’s been diluted in the water.
Additionally, this product is designed to create a relaxing experience more than it is a way to dose CBD on a daily basis. So to us, $10 for a nice relaxing bath every now and then is more than justified.
If you subscribe for auto shipping every 2 weeks, 1 month, or 2 months, you can obtain a 30% discount on your bath bombs.
Product Image | Order Size | Price | Price per mg CBD |
Single Bath Bomb — 100 mg CBD | $9.99 | $0.09
4-pack — 400 mg CBD | $35.99 | $0.08
Multipack — 600 mg CBD | $44.99 | $0.07 |
Overall, these bath bombs are mid to high-level potency at 100 mg per bath bomb — there are bath bombs with more CBD (200 mg) and others with less (25 or 50 mg).
When you add the bath bomb to the tub (which contains around 300 liters or 80 gallons on average) you’re effectively diluting the CBD into the water. This dilute CBD water will need time to come into contact with the skin and eventually be absorbed into the lower levels of the skin and muscle tissue.
However, not all of the CBD will be absorbed through the skin — a lot of it ends up going down the drain. This is expected, which is why we prefer 100 mg bath bombs as a minimum. Anything less is unlikely to provide enough of a dose to the skin and muscles to be of any real support.
A 200 mg bath bomb would be even better, but of course, these cost roughly twice the price since you’re using twice as much CBD.
We’ve found 100 mg to be just about right. The cost is still quite low, and we’ve found the dose to be effective for minor tension or muscle aches. If you need a little more of a kick, you can always take a CBD oil at the same time, or follow up your bath with a CBD topical on, especially problematic areas.
cbdMD sources some of its hemp from Colorado and Kentucky, which are both regions known for producing premium-quality hemp. Although the company doesn’t yet have organic certifications for the hemp it uses, they aren’t far off.
We expect to see organic hemp being used in cbdMD product (including these bath bombs) within the next couple of years.
The cbdMD CBD Bath Bombs come in a variety of scents and colors.
The company uses therapeutic-grade essential oils for the aroma, and a special dye designed for baths that won’t irritate or add any color to the skin.
Product Image | Product Name | Color | Primary Aroma |
Romance | Red/White | Frankincense
Resist | Pink | Lavender | |
Relax | Purple | Lavender | |
Rise | Orange | Eucalyptus
Rejuvenate | Blue | Eucalyptus
Restore | Green | Therapeutic (a blend) |
These essential oils offer more than just aroma — many of them have their own therapeutic benefits.
Bath bombs have a relatively simple formula in general — cbdMD has only slightly tweaked the basic bath bomb formula by adding their own selection of coloring and flavors, along with a CBD extract.
The essential oils content of these bath bombs offers their own health benefits. In fact, most bath bombs rely solely on these ingredients for their soothing and relaxing effects. In these bombs, the essential oils are secondary to the CBD but have a lot to offer in their own right.
Essential Oil | Benefits |
Frankincense | Anxiety and stress relief Reduces inflammation Reduces pain Boosts immune system |
Lavender | Anti-septic Anti-inflammatory Insomnia relief Anxiety relief |
Eucalyptus | Anti-septic Anti-microbial Anti-viral Anti-bacterial Anti-fungal Can help with sinus and respiratory infections |
Tip: If you can’t choose between them, the bath bomb named “Restore” uses a blend of all three essential oils.
CBD bath bombs are not the most effective way to take CBD and can be expensive if this is the primary source of your CBD use. However, these bath bombs are a great way to relax and unwind at the end of the day. They’re also useful for athletes to help their muscles recover after an especially strenuous workout.
Overall, we would recommend a cbdMD bath bomb as a special purchase – either as a gift or a treat for yourself.
The cost of these bath bombs is about what you can expect to pay for products like this, and the quality is very good. If you need something much stronger we recommend going with something a little stronger that contains 200 mg or more of CBD per bomb — but for the average user, these 100 mg bombs should be more than sufficient.
If you’re looking for a tailor-made CBD bath bomb experience, then we recommend making your own! Check out a recipe here. You can use CBD crystals as the source of CBD for your DIY experiments.
