King Kanine is dedicated to pet wellness “inside and out.” The King Kalm Balm is made with natural ingredients, is THC-free, and free from nasty chemicals. We love this balm for our pets and ourselves. We recommend you keep a tin around the house for dry and cracked paws, skin irritations, and healing wounds.
We’ve come to expect price mark-ups on pet products. After all, pet owners will spend the money to ensure their pet has the best on the market. King Kanine uses high-quality ingredients for this topical CBD balm at a reasonable price point $0.04 mer pg of CBD — there are companies selling topicals with 90% less of this potency (7.7 mg of CBD/mL) for nearly double the price for humans. Kudos to King Kanine for a stellar product.
At 7.7 mg/mL of CBD, this is a potent pet topical. One 1.75 oz container has roughly 392.5 mg of CBD. This tin should last one to two months with regular use — a little goes a long way.
King Kanine sources its hemp crops from certified organic farms in Vermont. Each batch has been third-party lab tested to ensure it’s free from THC and other harmful compounds from growing and processing hemp.
King Kanine is one of the few companies with a certified organic hemp source. When more states are eligible for USDA organic certification, we’re sure this hemp source will receive one. Until then, we can’t give King Kanine’s hemp source a 5/5.
To comply with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), King Kanine refrains from making claims about using CBD to treat any conditions. This balm is recommended to protect, repair, and moisturize raw, chapped or irritated paws, skin, and snouts. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-killing) properties may help speed the recovery of inflamed and broken skin.
There is only one variation for the King Kalm Paw Balm, but given it’s a niche product made with high-quality ingredients, we didn’t expect there to be a whole lot of options.
If possible, larger container sizes or different application methods such as a stick would make excellent additions to this product.
The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of CBD is combined with skin nourishing ingredients such as coconut oil and Manuka honey. It’s excellent for healing and replenishing dry, damaged skin.
The waxy texture from the beeswax helps to create a seal around the affected area to protect the skin while still allowing it to breathe. This is a simple formula, but it’s effective. There’s no need to add any harmful chemicals to preserve the balm because coconut oil, beeswax, honey, and the added essential oils are naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial.
Our pets can stand to benefit from the therapeutic effects of CBD too. King Kanine is a leader in the CBD pet industry offering wellness products for pets made with natural ingredients.
If your dog suffers from dry, chapped paw pads, skin rashes, or is healing from a wound or injury, a moisturizing salve can provide some relief. Add CBD into the mix, and you’ve got a balm with added anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving benefits.
This review examines the King Kalm CBD Paw Balm. It’s buzzed-about on online blogs and publications including Leafly, Dope Magazine, and Kulture Hub. We have all the information you need to know about the brand and its product before you make a purchase.
The King Kalm Paw Balm was created to keep dogs’ snouts, paws, and elbows hydrated and protected from harsh environmental and weather conditions. The formula contains organic CBD, coconut oil, Manuka honey, and natural beeswax.
The CBD is CO2 extracted and sourced from American industrial hemp farms that operate under strict compliance with all local and federal laws. You can rest assured King Kanine is offering the best for our furry friends with independent third-party lab tests for all batches of products.
The product packaging is a little misleading. It says “Full-spectrum cannabidiol/ CBD isolate” on the container. However, the lab tests prove that there is only one cannabinoid present in the extract, CBD, making this a CBD isolate. We’re not sure what happened with the labeling here, but there’s no way this formula can be both.

There are very few topical CBD products on the market specially made for dog’s skin. King Kanine steps up to the table with this high-strength CBD salve with over 7 mg of CBD per mL.
This is an ideal potency to address skin problems from dryness, irritation, wound healing, and rashes. CBD offers its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties locally, and its effects are felt almost instantly when applied to the skin.
Third-party lab testing should be mandatory in the CBD industry — unfortunately, it’s not. The best CBD companies are setting the standard when it comes to quality transparency. King Kanine products are batch tested by a non-biased third-party lab to ensure customers are receiving a high-quality product, free from harmful contaminants and THC.
This formula is comprised of 100% natural ingredients: CBD, coconut oil, Manuka honey, beeswax, and essential oils. This balm is an excellent example of a product that remains highly effective without the need for harmful chemical ingredients and preservatives.
Beeswax and Manuka honey are naturally antibacterial and antifungal. They resist microbial growth while adding their own therapeutic influence on this product. Well done, King Kanine!
King Kanine is a leading CBD pet brand based out of Plantation, Florida that offers a variety of pet wellness products from CBD oils, treats, topical sprays, balms, and shampoo.
The brand’s mission is to “promote pet wellness inside and out by providing owners with the highest quality of organic CBD products for pets available on the market.” To add to this, the King Kanine website is an excellent resource for pet owners interested in using CBD for their pet’s wellness.
As a leader in the CBD pet niche, King Kanine has been featured in publications, including, Leafy, StartUp World, Pet Business Magazine, and ABC News. It’s also actively involved in the animal community. King Kanine raises funds and awareness for abused and neglected animals.
In 2017, King Kanine was presented with the Golden Paw Award from the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC Animals for the brand’s dedication to pet health and well-being.
The King Kalm Balm was formulated to moisturize and protect dogs’ paws, elbows, and snouts from harsh weather and environmental stress. Technically, it can also be used for your cats for similar conditions.
The wax-based balm is excellent for more than just paws too! You can apply this product to any scrapes, cuts, or rashes. The wax helps protect the wound and seal in moisture and the other active ingredients in the formula.
This paw balm is priced much lower than many other pet-specific products, which tend to be marked up in price for simply being marketed for pets.
The overall cost of the product is about $17.00, which may seem high for such a small container. However, this product packs in a lot of great ingredients, including a relatively high potency of CBD at 7.7 mg/mL.
We found this product to have a high value, as a little goes a long way. One tin should last months, depending on the size of your dog and the frequency of use.
In cold weather climates, you may need to use the balm more often to combat the elements. In the winter, your dog’s paws are more prone to cracking and tenderness from exposure to road salt and cold, dry weather conditions.

Most CBD topicals — even for humans — come in lower strengths and smaller containers. The King Kalm Paw Balm has a whopping 392.2 mg of CBD in a 1.75 oz container.

King Kanine places a strong emphasis on its hemp source. The extracts are manufactured from Vermont Organic Farms (VOF), and its batch tested for pesticides, mycotoxins, heavy metals, and residual — it passes with flying colors.
While it does have a VOF organic certification, it’s not USDA certified organic. The VOF was created by farmers with strict regulations for what they consider to be organic farming practices and rigorously tested for contaminants.
The USDA Certified Organic seal means the contents should be 95% certified organic (free from pesticides, chemical fertilizers, dyes, and solvents).
With the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp is now an eligible crop for the USDA organic certification. However, some states are slower to implement this certification process for its crops.
Even without the USDA seal, we’re confident in King Kanine’s hemp source.
We do, however, have one stipulation with the King Kalm Balm.
We’re not sure what’s up with its label. It reads, “Full-spectrum cannabidiol/ CBD isolate.” It’s either one or the other, but not both. The Certificate of Analysis (CoA) confirms this is a CBD isolate formula.
Although CBD has been proven both safe and effective for a number of different conditions, the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) prohibits CBD companies from making health claims.
Just because our dogs are covered in fur doesn’t mean their skin isn’t prone to dryness. In fact, dogs living in cold climates are prone to cracked paws from road salting. Moisturizing your pet’s paws in the winter will help protect them from the harsh environment.
You can also apply the salve to rashes, healing cuts, and scrapes. Beeswax is an excellent protective barrier that still allows the skin to breathe while locking in moisture. King Kanine you use its products for at least one month to witness any changes in your pet.
It’s not only great for your pet, but the simple, high-quality ingredients make this an excellent formula for humans too. We have our own cannister for our chapped lips and cuticles.
There is only one product variation of the King Kalm Balm. We’ve found that these 1.75 oz containers last a long time with regular use. The smaller container makes it easier to pack with you while on a hike or traveling.
Although not completely necessary, we’d like to see this product offered in a roll-on or deodorant stick style applicator to help apply the product to the feet of larger dogs.
The King Kalm Balm is made with CBD isolate and is guaranteed THC-free. This moisturizing formula is also free from nasty chemicals and preservatives, so it’s safe for your pet’s skin, even if they’re prone to licking.
The ingredients include:
King Kanine offers free shipping within the United States. If you’re ordering outside the US, shipping rates are dependant on the cost of destination — unfortunately, King Kanine doesn’t ship to its Northern neighbor, Canada.
There’s a 30-day money-back guarantee for all King Kanine products. You need to connect with customer service before sending anything back for a refund, and the cost of shipping a return or exchange will come out of your pocket. You can either email customer service or use the live chat feature on the website.
We love simple and effective formulas. On top of this, the King Kalm Balm is affordable — a little goes a long with for your pets.
You can rest assured your money is well spent with this product. It has an excellent CBD potency for topical application, it’s made with natural ingredients, and is free from nasty chemicals and preservatives.
The buzz around King Kanine is well deserved. By supporting King Kanine, you’re also supporting animal communities. We look forward to what else King Kanine comes out with next.
