CBD-infused bath bombs are an excellent way to wind down and relax at the end of a long day.
Kush Queen, a premier lifestyle cannabis brand based in Los Angeles, has formulated over 15 different bath bombs, each with various essential oils, ingredients and, most importantly, CBD. Made entirely for your bathtime pleasure, these high-grade bombs are specifically made to promote relaxation, boost immunity, and encourage healthy energy levels, as well as delivering CBD directly to the skin.
Although the price per mg of CBD is much higher than other CBD products, we believe the cost is justified. You won’t be turning to bath bombs as your main source of CBD but if you want an occasional treat for yourself then bath bombs are a fantastic choice.
The products have CBD and a wealth of essential oils that make these bath bombs a solid purchase.
The CBD Bath Bomb and The Shield For Immunity contain 25 mg and 100 mg of CBD, respectively.
Though the over 25 mg potency, which breaks down to roughly 0.12 mg of CBD per mL, seems like a very low amount, it’s worth pointing out that bath bombs aren’t supposed to be designed as the most effective, mind-blowing delivery of cannabinoids.
Because the company markets itself as a lifestyle brand closely affiliated with CBD, we wouldn’t expect these products to be made for anything but a fun and relaxing way to treat surface-level skin complaints.
Kush Queen sources its hemp from an unspecified location in the US.
The company says it strives to support sustainable, organic and pesticide-free hemp sources, which is great. The lab results passed several hazardous materials tests but didn’t include results for heavy metals or residual solvents.
These bath bombs aren’t going to blow anyone away with its innovation, but its intended purpose is completely on point – the various formulations included in each product are designed for either individual symptoms or general relaxation.
The primary focus, however, is clearly to cleanse the skin and remove impurities – the CBD is an additional bonus.
There are seven variations of Kush Queen’s staple bath bombs, each with a unique color and essential oil blend. There are also several seasonal bath bombs available like the Woof Queen bath bombs (for pets) and Citrus CBD Bath Bombs.
In the context of Bath Bombs, this is a fantastic selection.
The formula of these bath bombs is pretty impressive. By including thoughtfully crafted essential oil blends that target a certain group of symptoms, Kush Queen created a fun way to relieve everyday stresses. The coloring of the bath bombs is high quality and shouldn’t stain the bath or the user’s skin.
All the essential oils are organic. Kush Queen also includes extra virgin olive oil which acts as both a moisturizer and anti-oxidant.
The principle idea around self-care and relaxation is to provide yourself with an environment that allows you to deal with the inevitable daily stressors that life throws at you.
Bath time, whether in the early morning or at the dead of night, is one of the few ways that the whole body can completely relax after a hard day’s work or during a busy period in your life, which is why Kush Queen has formulated its range of cannabidiol (CBD) bath bombs.
CBD bath bombs are a relatively new variant to CBD’s entire arsenal of global products and are arguably more beneficial than standard bath time products easily found on the shelves of your favorite local grocery stores.
Though its health benefits are still being studied, preliminary research and cross-sectional studies have reported that CBD “has clearly shown anxiolytic, antiepileptic, and antipsychotic properties, among other effects”.
These research papers show that CBD has the ability to potentially treat inflammation, pain (neuropathic or otherwise), anxiety, depression, and stress. Furthermore, research into CBD’s effects on the skin shows promising signs of alleviating skin inflammation and acne.
If this has piqued your interest, Kush Queen’s range of bath bombs could be your next desired purchase.
However, bath bombs with added CBD are much higher in price than your standard bath bomb. Is it worth the price increase?
We will take a close look at Kush Queen’s CBD bath bombs to determine if they’re the next level of self-care and relaxation or whether they’re just over-priced novelties geared towards unsuspecting consumers.
Kush Queen’s bath bombs are actually the very first product launched by Kush Queen, which has now expanded its interest into a variety of other products including lubricants, shower gels, and pre-rolled flowers.
The company’s CBD Bath Bombs come in a variety of essential oil blends and colors designed to help the user achieve a certain mindset, which the company claims to include:
Kush Queen even sells its “reject” bath bombs at a discount so products aren’t wasted due to packaging errors or visual imperfections, which is a practice we love – waste not, want not!
Each bath bomb is 7 oz. and contains 25 mg of CBD, with the exception of the Immunity Shield which contains 100 mg.
We noticed a slight discrepancy between the amount of CBD advertised on the packaging of each bath bomb and what was found in the lab reports, but we’ll discuss these specifics later in the article.

Benefit: Unique product benefits depending on which bath bomb used.
Each product has been specially formulated to target a specific set of symptoms such as boosting your immune system, pain relief, heal skin, and reduce stress.
Benefit: No staining.
The high-quality food coloring within this product will not stain your skin or bathtub, nor will it do any harm to your skin.
Benefit: Contains effective moisturizing qualities.
Extra virgin olive oil contains natural squalene which leaves skin feeling moisturized and smooth. It also contains antioxidant properties that help with skin reparation.
The self-care oriented company Kush Queen has defined itself as a “luxury premier lifestyle cannabis brand” and was founded in 2015 by CEO Olivia Alexander, who’s been heralded as “one of the industry’s top tastemakers, pioneering new areas of the space and creating trends at every turn”.
The company’s ethos is primarily centered around transparency, service, equality, and innovation.
Kush Queen’s bath bombs are formulated with CBD and essential oils blends, each with a different intended purpose. Overall, this product is well suited for people looking to relax, enjoy themselves and soak up some of the benefits of CBD.
Of course, the benefits of just taking a plain bath are pretty great, but here are some of Kush Queen’s promises associated with its bath bombs:
These bath bombs are a bit expensive compared to non-CBD products, but we consider them a reasonable price. Taking into account the essential oils, the quality of the CBD and potency, these bath bombs are a nice treat to use on special occasions where the plain Janes just won’t do the trick.
Product | Total Price | Total CBD Content | Cost per mg CBD |
CBD Bath Bomb | $12.99 | 25 mg | $0.51 |
CBD Bath Bomb Reject | $6.00 | 25 mg | $0.24 |
Shield For Immunity CBD Bath Bomb | $19.99 | 100 mg | $0.19 |
In terms of affordable CBD, bath bombs are much more expensive per mg of CBD than, say, a tincture but with these products, the value lies in the experience.
Are these products worth the money solely based on their CBD content?
Maybe not, but CBD isn’t the only factor adding this product’s efficacy.
We found some inconsistencies in Kush Queen’s potency claims. The packaging on the bath bombs all promise 25 mg of CBD, however when we looked at the lab results for each variety, only the Relax came close with 24.46 mg, the other bath bombs ranged from 20 mg to 23 mg.
Of course, differences of 0.54 mg won’t make a huge impact on the CBD experience but when the whole product contains only 25 mg of CBD receiving 5 mg less than what was paid for is disappointing.
And then there’s the question of whether or not 25 mg of CBD will do the trick.
Just soaking in the tub without any additional products relieves stress and reduces inflammation, but adding CBD and essential oils could greatly improve those beneficial properties.
Kush Queen recommends soaking in the tub for about 30 minutes to receive the full benefits of the bath bombs, something that we would also recommend.
But how much work is the CBD in the bath bomb doing?
Product | Size | Potency | CBD per mL |
CBD Bath Bomb | 7 oz (207 mL) | 25 mg | 0.12 mg |
Shield For Immunity | 7 oz (207 mL) | 100 mg | 0.5 mg |
Let’s just say: bath bombs are not designed as a method of treatment. Their potencies are very low but there is enough CBD present to have beneficial effects, especially with the Shield For Immunity bath bomb.
Kush Queen created a product that can supplement an existing CBD regimen or be used as a one-off the product and still be effective. The effects of CBD may be more pronounced with the help of the bath itself and the essential oils included.
Kush Queen uses US sources for its hemp but does not specify which states. This could be because the company uses several farms, but it struck us as strange that the company was so vague.
Kush Queen, however, strives to use organic, sustainable and pesticide-free hemp — which are all great things.
The CBD used in Kush Queen’s bath bombs is CO2 extracted, the most expensive and effective way of extracting CBD from hemp plants — definitely a good sign.
When we requested the lab results for Kush Queen Bath bombs we were able to look at not only the CBD content but also how many safety tests were conducted on the products. They were relatively thorough but were missing a few tests like heavy metals and residual solvents.
Of course, the solvents test is not as applicable as CO2 extraction eliminates any need for solvents. The same can be said about heavy metals as the hemp is grown with organic and pesticide-free farming that would greatly reduce the risk of the CBD containing heavy metals.
Now that we’ve covered some of the potential red flags let’s talk about the additional beneficial ingredients in Kush Queen’s bath bombs.
On its product pages, Kush Queen rightly points out that human skin is the largest organ in the body and “is a powerful tool for absorbing cannabinoids and balancing your endocannabinoid system”.
Now, before you get too excited, there is limited research on whether CBD can fully absorb into the bloodstream through the skin due to its permeability; however, Kush Queen’s bath bombs are useful for penetrating far enough into the skin to positively interact with the skin’s cannabinoid receptors.
Users of Kush Queen’s bath bombs will be gifted with essential oils as listed below to aid absorption and to cleanse the skin of impurities.

All of the bath bombs contain extra virgin olive oil; olive oil contains squalene, a hydrocarbon that can be found in our own sebum (the oily stuff our skin secretes and keeps us from drying up) and applying it topically is a great way to moisturize. However, olive oil does have the potential to clog pores when applied for a long period, so using it in a bath is an ideal way to soak up some moisture.
Olive oil also contains antioxidants which make it well suited for preventing free-radicals and improving general skin health.
Kush Queen offers seasonal products like Woof Queen Bath Bombs (for pets) or Pumpkin Spice bath bombs. Unfortunately, these bath bombs don’t have any lab results available because they’re a temporary feature.
Kush Queen only ship within the United States – no international orders can be made.
All domestic orders will be shipped using either USPS, UPS, or FedEx – you will be able to select your preferred method at the checkout stage.
Shipping times vary depending on your location and the chosen shipping method. Kush Queen typically ships out orders within 3-5 business days but may take up to 7.
Only Visa and Mastercard are accepted as payment.
Kush Queen’s returns policy leaves very little room for refunds unless the delivery has wrong or missing items – damaged products will also be refunded. This has to be declared to the company within 24 hours.

Kush Queen’s message of self-care with its CBD bath bomb range is something we can get behind. Though the potency of the bath bombs is fairly low, this doesn’t limit its use as a fun way to relax.
The price per mg of CBD, even if it comes across as quite high, is still reasonable considering the other beneficial ingredients used – other bath bombs from high-end retailers such as Lush are equally as expensive, if not more so.
The potency of the bath bombs is low, but this isn’t a deal-breaker. Bath bombs are meant to be a fun way to relax, not to be an essential part of a regiment. The amount of CBD in the products would be effective especially with the help of the essential oils and the bath itself.
We recommend that the company expand its lab reports to include more results (heavy metals). If the lab results are not a deal-breaker, then feel free to check out Kush Queen’s website see the products for yourself.
