CBD Suppositories are a hard find on the market. The Foria Suppositories contain 8 “weed-tampons” with 110 mg of CBD at a competitive price of $0.08 per mg of CBD or $72 a package. For comparison, we consider $0.10-$0.16 per mg of CBD an average price for high-quality CBD extracts for capsules, tinctures, and concentrates.
The Basics Suppositories delivers an ultra-high potency of 110 mg of CBD per use. Suppositories are highly effective for CBD absorption because the rectal and vaginal cavities are lined with veins and blood vessels. The effects can be felt typically between 10-15 minutes after insertion and can last up to 8 hours.
Foria doesn’t provide enough information on its hemp sourcing — only that it’s sun-grown sustainably in the US and is processed via supercritical CO2 extraction. We’re docking points because it doesn’t specify which state the hemp crops are from, it’s not certified organic, and it lacks complete third-party lab testing.
These suppositories are specifically formulated for insertion into the vagina or rectum — it’s molded into shape for easy insertion. The Foria website provides a wealth of information when it comes to using CBD suppositories for a variety of different ailments from menstrual, menopausal, and sexual uses.
The Foria Basics Suppositories are only available in the 8-pack in 110 mg of CBD potency. Since this is a niche product — without much competition on the market — we don’t expect to see many variations in this category. Foria does have a ‘Relief’ Suppository that contains 60 mg of THC and 10 mg of CBD — However, it’s only available in participating California and Oregon cannabis dispensaries.
The formula consists of two ingredients — organic cocoa butter and CBD extract. There’s nothing particularly innovative about this product, but it gets the job done. Where we’re docking points is its claims to be a broad-spectrum hemp extract yielding various cannabinoids for synergistic effects, but the Certificate of Analysis shows only CBD present in the formula, making it an isolate.
Foria is a cannabis brand specializing in intimacy, relief, and wellness.
According to its blog, Foria is the first company to promote vaginal use of cannabinoids for sexual pleasure and menstrual relief.
The California-based company has received media buzz over its CBD and THC-infused intimacy products from publications including, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Bloomberg, and Playboy.
In this product review, we’re examining its vaginal suppository or “weed tampons” formulated to soothe period cramps.
If you’re looking for a more natural way to address painful period cramps, these CBD suppositories might be the product you didn’t know you needed.
Yes, there are plenty of other methods of supplementing CBD that doesn’t involve sticking it up where the sun don’t shine — but when it comes to delivering fast-acting, localized relief, CBD suppositories outperform the rest.
It’s difficult to source CBD suppositories in general, which comes to no surprise as it’s not the most glamorous product. However, Foria offers two suppository formulas that cater to the different needs of its customers.
Foria’s ‘Basics’ Suppositories are made from a broad-spectrum CBD extract that can be inserted into the rectum or vagina.
Each package contains 8 “weed tampons” with 110 mg of broad-spectrum CBD extract infused in 100% organic and fair-trade cocoa butter.
The second variation is only available at Colorado and California cannabis dispensaries. ‘Relief’ contains 4 suppositories that deliver 60 mg of THC and 10 mg of CBD infused in cocoa butter. While this product does contain the psychoactive compound, THC — Foria reports little to no psychoactive effects with this product, but this experience will vary from one person to the next.
This review will focus on the ‘Basics’ Suppository high in CBD.

1. High strength CBD
If you’re opting for a suppository, you’re most likely looking to treat a more severe symptom, which warrants a higher dose of CBD.
Suppositories can come in all different potencies — most contain around 50 mg of CBD. Foria Basics has double the average amount found in suppositories at 110 mg per use.
2. Fast and long-lasting effects
As unpleasant as it sounds, the anus and vagina are highly efficient at absorbing CBD.
The moist and warm environments of the vagina and anus will quickly melt the cocoa butter. These orifices are walled with veins and blood vessels, which is ideal for fast absorption.
The effects of suppository CBD will be felt about 10 to 15 minutes after insertion and can last up to 8 hours.
Foria is a CBD lifestyle company best known for its CBD-infused lubes, which has become a hot topic in magazine publications.
As a California-based brand, Foria has been at the forefront of cannabis pleasure enhancement, pain relief, and wellness products. The company’s mission is to enhance pleasure and sexual renewal with the healing properties of cannabis.
Its CBD products are available for purchase online with international shipping options. If you’re interested in its THC products (more than 0.3%), you’ll need to pick these up at a cannabis dispensary in California or Oregon where THC products are legal.
Suppositories are an excellent option for those looking to deliver CBD closer to the source of pain near the abdomen. These suppositories can be inserted into the vagina or rectum, depending on what issue you’re addressing.
Here are a number of symptoms that CBD suppositories are popular for:
In the product review section, some people report unpleasant leakage from these suppositories, so we don’t advise you pop these suppositories on the go. They’re better suited for at-home use.
The Foria Basics Suppositories are beautifully packed in a little blue box that contains 8 suppositories for $72.00.
Each suppository is said to consists of organic, fair-trade cocoa butter and 110 mg of broad-spectrum (THC-free) hemp extract.
This is a niche product — you won’t find very many CBD brands offering a suppository option, so we can expect the price to jump per mg of CBD.
The Foria Basics Suppository Cost Breakdown:
Product Image | Product Name | Total Price | Total CBD Content | Cost per mg CBD |
Foria Intimacy Suppository | $20.00 | 200 mg | $0.10
Foria Relief Suppositories | $50.00 | 800 mg | $0.06 |
* Foria differentiates the different cannabinoid content on the website. The product description notes there is 100 mg of CBD per suppository and 10 mg of other cannabinoids (excluding THC). The price per mg is calculated on this table is based on 110 mg of all present cannabinoids.
Although we expected the price to jump per mg in this category, we found the price per mg on par to other high-quality CBD pricing for capsules, tinctures, and oils.
The Foria Basics Suppositories are a high-potency product at 110 mg of CBD extract per use.
This high potency is appropriate for the symptoms this product aims to address including, period cramping, relaxing the muscles during sex, and digestive issues. At this dose, CBD can deliver effective anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.
Product Image | Product Name | Total CBD Content | CBD Concentration (mg/suppository) | Potency Level |
Foria Intimacy Suppository | 200 mg | 50 mg/suppository | High
Foria Relief Suppositories | 800 mg | 1000 mg/suppository | High |
Foria’s hemp is from the US and is said to be sun-grown on a sustainable farm that employs “permaculture techniques to enhance soil, water, and biodiversity.”
It doesn’t say anything about which state the hemp comes from nor is it certified organic.
For harvesting, Foria uses supercritical CO2 extraction — the gold standard extraction method because it doesn’t leave behind any harmful solvents in the finished product.
Foria provides a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for all its products on its website. However, we don’t find them to be complete.
The Basics Suppositories, are tested for cannabinoid profile and potency which shows 0% THC and 111.6 mg of CBD per suppository.
If this is a broad-spectrum extract, as labeled, we would expect to see traces of other cannabinoids in this test.
The other lab tests ordered check for yeast and mold and other microbial contamination. However, we consider full testing to also include solvent, heavy metals, and pesticide contamination as well.
The Basics Suppositories are made up of a pretty simple formula — organic cocoa butter and high concentrate CBD extract. For it’s intended purpose, this formula does the trick.
Our only stipulation with this formula is that it advertises broad-spectrum hemp extract — however, the CoA provided only shows 111 mg of CBD extract. This misrepresents its product, as there are more benefits with a product that contains a range of beneficial cannabinoids that work in synergy to yield stronger effects.
Suppositories are a niche product, so you’re not likely to find companies that offer many variations in this category.
The Basics Suppositories are only available in the 8 pack and in the 110 mg CBD potency.
However, Foria does offer a 60 mg THC and 10 mg CBD suppository called ‘Relief’ only available at participating California and Oregon cannabis dispensaries.
It’s not easy finding a reliable CBD suppository, as they’re not the most glamorous form of CBD supplementation.
Overall, Foria does an excellent job at creating a high-potency CBD suppository in a pretty little package.
We just wish Foria shared a little bit more information when it comes to its hemp source and ordered complete third-party lab testing.
Moreover, with the CoA provided, we’re not convinced these suppositories are broad-spectrum, as advertised. However, it does contain a high CBD concentration.
If you’re looking for CBD suppositories, we still think the Foria basics are worth a try to help alleviate abdominal, vaginal, and digestive pains.
