Ranking The Top 12 THC Gummies By Category (Δ8, Δ9, Δ10, HHC, & More)

Looking for psychoactive gummies?

We rank 12 gummies across four different categories of THC.

THC gummies hit much harder and last much longer than vapes.

Several years ago, there was only one type of THC gummy — delta 9 THC.

Today, there are several options — delta 8 or delta 10 THC, to THCV, THCP, HHC, and THC-O — each one with distinct effects.

We’ve rounded up the best THC gummies across all categories. Find out everything you need to know about purchasing these gummies online, their effects, and their legal status.

The Shortlist: Best THC Gummies

1. The Best Hemp-Derived Delta 9 THC Gummies

A few companies are starting to offer “legal delta 9 THC gummies,” edibles containing slightly less delta 9 than federal levels allow by reaching the 0.3% by weight threshold in larger gummy servings or higher CBD concentrations.

The following brands offer hemp-derived delta 9 THC gummies which are (technically) legal in all 50 states.

1.1. Area 52 Full-Spectrum UFO Gummies (Δ9)

These new gummies from Area 52 are slightly larger than average and contain a total of 5 mg of delta 9 THC — while remaining below the legal threshold.

Because they contain no more than 0.3% delta 9 THC by weight, they’re entirely legal as per the 2018 Farm Bill.

However, the 5 mg dose means just one gummy is enough to provide clear psychoactive effects.

The added CBD, CBG, CBN, and other minor cannabinoids in these gummies make the effects feel very well-rounded overall. They’re less likely to make you feel anxious or overstimulated.

1.2. Delta Extrax (Urb) Delta 9 Gummies

$25.99

Delta Extrax (Urb) Delta 9 Gummies 10 pack

5 / 5

Total D9: 100 mg
D9 Potency: 10 mg/gummy
Cost per mg D9: $0.25

Delta Extrax offers two delta 9 products made from hemp — THC shots and gummies.

This company doesn’t consider these D9 THC gummies illegal because they don’t come from marijuana and contain less than 0.3% Δ9 by weight, as each gummy weighs 6 grams and contains 10 mg of THC.

These are large gummies, which make for a creative way around the 2018 Farm Bill. Depending on which state you live in, these could still be illegal.

Delta Extrax says the recommended dose for these gummies is half or a quarter. The formula is vegan-friendly, and they come in 3 flavors: Blueberry Citrus, Kiwi Mixer, Guavaberry Fruit.

1.3. Trojan Horse Δ9 Gummies (10:1 Ratio)

$45.00

Trojan Horse Cannabis 10:1 Gummies 10 gummies

5 / 5

Total CBD: 1000 mg
Total THC: 100 mg
Potency: 100:10 mg (CBD:THC)/gummy
Cost per mg cannabinoids: $0.04
Extract type: Full-spectrum

Trojan Horse calls these the real-deal D9 gummies — they’re made from hemp and not synthetically produced. However, it doesn’t make them fully legal in all 50 states.

Like Delta Extrax, Trojan Horse Cannabis formulated the gummies to contain less than 0.3% THC by weight but added enough volume for there to be a psychoactive dose of THC.

These gummies come in 3 flavors:

  1. Blackberry — 7 mg Δ9 per gummy (10 count)
  2. Pineapple — 7 mg Δ9 per gummy (10 count)
  3. Orange — 10 mg Δ9 per gummy (10 count)

1.4. Mr. Hemp Flower Δ9 Gummies

$29.99
Mr. Hemp Flower

Mr. Hemp Flower D9 Gummies 5 pack

5 / 5

Total D9: 50 mg
D9 Potency: 10 mg/gummy
Cost per mg D9: $0.59
Extract type: Full-spectrum

Mr. Hemp Flower carries a variety of cannabinoid products, including their newly-released delta 9 gummies (federally compliant, of course).

These gummies contain 10 mg delta 9 THC per piece, along with a variety of other cannabinoids including CBD, CBC, and CBN.

The total THC content per piece remains below 0.3% of the total volume.

2. The Best Delta 9 THC Gummies (Marijuana-Derived)

If you live in a state where marijuana and its derivatives are legal, you’re in for a treat. There are plenty of cannabis brands that offer high-quality THC gummies that taste great and pack a punch in terms of THC effects.

There’s virtually no difference in terms of effect profiles when comparing hemp-derived and marijuana-derived THC. However, there’s a big difference when it comes to availability and legality.

The legal THC industry is heavily regulated and you won’t be able to buy any of the following brands online. Your only option is to visit your local dispensary to pick it up yourself.

Here’s our list of the top 3 THC gummies from marijuana plants:

2.1. Wana THC Gummies

Wana THC Gummies 10 gummies

4 / 5

Total CBD: 100 mg
Total THC: 10 mg
Potency: 10:1 mg (CBD:THC)/gummy
Extract type: Full-spectrum

Wana is a top seller for gummies and chocolates in many legal head shops across the US and Canada.

The brand offers unique flavors such as Blueberry Acai, Pineapple Coconut, Strawberry Lemonade, and Pomegranate Blueberry with various CBD to THC ratios. All gummies are gelatin-free, gluten-free, and vegan-friendly, making them more accessible to those with dietary restrictions.

Wana is a constant innovator in the marijuana edibles space. The brand takes a lot of pride in its high standards and third-party lab testing for safety and quality control.

For people who don’t enjoy edibles, Wana wants to convince you otherwise.

Wana has “Quick Gummies,” made for those who feel like THC edibles are too overwhelming. The overall experience with the Quick Gummies is that they produce a “body high” rather than a head high, similar to the effect of light vaping with a shorter duration time for its effects.

We find that the Wana gummies do have a slightly “weed” taste, but it’s not bad. The flavors themselves do a great job at complimenting the natural terpenes of its extracts.

2.2. Spinach Cannabis THC Gummies

Spinach Cannabis is our go-to for the best sour THC gummies that taste like your favorite 5-cent childhood gummies. These come in Blue Raspberry Watermelon, Strawberry Mango, and Peach Orange.

These don’t have any “weed” aftertaste — they just taste like candy.

The Peach Orange has a 1:1 ratio of CBD to THC with 2 mg of each cannabinoid per gummy for a light, clear-headed buzz with a pleasant body high. Take two or three until you reach your desired level of effects.

Blue Raspberry contains just 2 mg of THC from an indica strain of marijuana per gummy, which feels much more like you’ve got your head in the clouds.

Strawberry Mango contains 2 mg of THC per gummy from a sativa strain of marijuana. This is a much more hyperactive and stimulating gummy but still quite mild, given the low potency of gummies. We find that the low potency makes it easy to accurately dose the candy to reach your desired high level without going overboard.

2.3. Papas Select THC Gummies

Papas Select specializes in strain-specific, farm-specific marijuana gummies that appeal to cannabis connoisseurs.

According to Papas Select, the company fresh freezes the marijuana flowers to maintain the cannabinoids and terpenes for their unique flavor profile for an extremely fresh-tasting product.

If you’re looking for gummies that taste like weed — these are it. Papa Select Gummies are a unique gummy offering on the market, and they deliver on quality.

There are four flavors of gummies to choose from in its catalog:

  1. Gargoyle Melon Berry
  2. Gargoyle Melon Berry With A Hint Of Guava
  3. Garlic Cookies
  4. Garlic Cookies With a Hint of Pineapple

The THC per serving is around 10 mg — so these are fairly potent delta 9 gummies compared to the other two on our list. You can always half or quarter the gummies to suit your desired dose.

3. The Best Delta 8 THC Gummies

If the effects of marijuana seem intimidating to you, or you tend to experience bouts of anxiousness with regular THC gummies, then delta 8 THC gummies might be a better alternative.

The gummies on this delta 8 list are hemp-derived and third-party lab tested. However, they may not be legal in every state or territory, so check your local laws before you shop.

3.1. Area 52 Δ8 THC Gummies

$69.99
Area 52

Area 52 Delta 8 THC Gummies

5 / 5

Total Delta 8 THC: 750 mg
Delta 8 THC Potency: 25 mg per Gummy
Cost per mg Delta 8 THC: $0.09
Delta 8 Source: Hemp (<0.3% D9 THC)

We like the way this brand puts the emphasis on creating clean products. This is something that’s not as widespread in the delta 8 space as you might expect.

We’re also giving bonus points for branding and packaging and overall vibe. This company’s branding is top-notch. There’s something to be said about the look and feel of a product.

These delta 8 Gummies come in green apple, strawberry, and pineapple flavors. They’re vegan-friendly, gluten-free, and low in sugar.

The cost per mg of the delta 8 extract rings in at roughly $0.09.

Each gummy contains 25 mg of delta 8 THC.

If you’re new to THC, you may want to cut these gummies in half and slowly build up to a full gummy over time.

Remember that you’ll need roughly double the dose of delta 8 THC compared to delta 9, so don’t be too alarmed at the high mg content if you’re used to consuming weed gummies.

3.2. Neurogan Δ8 THC Calm Gummies

Neurogan is a California-based company with Scandinavian roots. The business prides itself on the simplicity and effectiveness of its hemp products for supporting active and healthy lifestyles.

These Calm Delta 8 THC gummies are hand-poured in small batches using their team’s best-selling gummy candy formula at a cGMP facility in San Diego.

Each gummy square contains 25 mg of full-spectrum, hemp-derived delta 8 THC. These do have a hempy-taste because of the terpene profile, but it’s not an unpleasant one.

One of the notable characteristics of this brand is that it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, which is rare to come by in the industry. If you’re not happy with the product, you can email the team and arrange a full refund.

3.3. Finest Labs Δ8 Gummies

$55
Finest Labs

Finest Labs Delta 8 THC Gummies 30 Gummies

Total Delta 8 THC: 750 mg
Delta 8 THC Potency: 25 mg Per Gummy
Cost per mg Delta 8 THC: $0.07
Delta 8 Source: Hemp (<0.3% D9 THC)

Finest Labs is a brand that specializes in rare cannabinoids and terpene extracts. These gummy squares contain 25 mg of delta 8 THC isolate and a variety of terpenes formulated to match popular cannabis strains.

You can’t detect the taste of any hemp in these gummies, which is ideal for those who don’t enjoy the natural bitter flavor.

Finest Labs’ recommended serving is 1/2 a gummy at 12.5 mg, but it’s easy to build a tolerance to delta 8, so you may find yourself reaching for a full gummy in no time.

3.4. 3Chi Δ8 THC Gummies

$19.99 – $29.99
3Chi

3Chi Delta 8 THC Gummies 8 – 16 pieces

5 / 5

Total Delta 8 THC: 200 – 400 mg
Potency: 25 mg/gummy
Cost per mg Δ8: $0.07 – $0.09
Extract type: Full-spectrum

3Chi is one of the first brands to offer delta 8 products on the market. These vegan-friendly, gluten-free gummies come in packs of 8 or 16 with 25 mg of delta 8 isolate per gummy. The starting serving size is 1/2 -1 full gummy, depending on your tolerance.

The brand describes its gummies as delivering an “uplifted mood and a body high without a hempy taste.”

It’s best to store delta 8 THC gummies in the fridge after opening.

3.5. Binoid Δ8 THC Gummies

$44.99
Binoid

Binoid Delta 8 THC Gummies

4 / 5

Total Δ8: 500 mg
Potency: 25 mg per Gummy
Cost per mg Δ8: $0.06
Extract Type: Δ8 Isolate
THC Content: 0%

Binoid is known for its rare cannabinoid extracts like THCV, delta 10, and HHC, and it has an extensive catalog of delta 8 products worth looking into.

The Binoid gummies are vegan and gluten-free and come in Green Apple, Peach Rings, and Strawberry with 25 mg of delta 8 extract per gummy, a total of 20 gummies per pack.

Binoid frequently offers sales and bundles for its gummies, so if you’re looking for a cost-effective option, this may be the best way to go.

4. Best Alternative THC Gummies

We’re currently in the THC glory days — there are more types of THC on the market today than you can shake a stick at.

We’ve covered the “conventional” forms of THC, including delta 9 from hemp, delta 9 from marijuana, and newer isomers like delta 8 and delta 10 THC — but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

New forms of THC include HHC, THCP, THC-O, and THCV — each of which have become increasingly popular over the past couple of months.

Some of these compounds are already being sold in gummy form, here’s a roundup of the best options currently available.

4.1. Area 52 Hyperdrive HHC Gummies

HHC (hexahydrocannabinol) is not a new cannabinoid, but it’s only been publically available for about a year. It’s virtually identical to delta 9 THC in its effects, but slightly milder and more relaxing (generally). The effects of this cannabinoid still rely on how you’re feeling before taking it.

There’s a big problem with the current HHC market. Testing for this cannabinoid is more expensive because standard tests won’t be able to differentiate between other forms of THC. Of the few companies that do test, Area 52 scores the highest in all metrics. These gummies are extremely potent (99% purity and 25 mg per gummy), and taste delicious. What more could you ask for?

4.2. Binoid THC-O Gummies

Binoid is one of the few companies to carry THC-O gummies. Most companies carry this cannabinoid in vape form — but this isn’t recommended.

There’s a chance this cannabinoid can cause damage to the lungs and throat with repeated use. It’s better to stick to edible form with this one or wait until there’s more information available on the safety of this cannabinoid.

With that said, if you want to try THC-O, Binoid offers a great starting point and are formidable gummies. Be cautious with the dose of these when using them for the first time. They take a while to kick in but once they start to take effect it can come on very strong!

4.3. 3Chi D8 + THCV Gummies

THCV is only about 25% as strong as delta 9 THC, and about half as strong as delta 8 — but it offers a few unique benefits of its own. For example, THCV is known to have a much more “energizing” action, and anecdotal reports suggest it’s useful for killing hunger cravings.

On its own, you’d need a pretty high dose to feel any psychoactivity from THCV, and its relatively high cost makes it a poor option for most people.

However, this cannabinoid works great in combination with other cannabinoids, such as HHC or delta 8 THC because it works to curb the “couch-lock” and “munchies” many people don’t like about using these products.

Our favorite THCV gummy at the moment is the 3Chi Delta 8 + THCV gummies. These gummies have virtually no munchies and are much better for use during the day or while at work/school. You don’t feel tired, lazy, or hungry with these, yet the buzz is as strong as ever.

The situation for THCV is similar to THCP — there aren’t any vendors selling this product yet that we consider “reputable” or reliable. In order for us to list a company, they need to be able to prove the contents of their gummies through testing.

4.3. THCP Gummies (Unavailable)

You can find THCP gummies for sale on the internet — but we highly advise you give them a pass, for now. We’re constantly watching the market for new products to try, and there has yet to be any solid THCP vendors that can prove the purity of their products. This is because the THCP testing parameters are still under development. Our tools aren’t precise enough to differentiate THCP from other forms of THC without expertly crafted settings and very expensive equipment.

As soon as a decent THCP gummy appears on our radar, we’ll be updating this section.

What Kind of THC Should I Buy?

The best THC gummies depend on what you hope to experience.

If you’re looking for something energizing to use while you work, draw, or jog — consider delta 9, delta 10, HHC, or THCV products.

If you’re looking for something mellow to use in the evenings as you wind down for bed, or want to use THC to help dull physical pain — consider delta 8, or a full-spectrum hemp gummy (often sold as hemp-derived delta 9 gummies).

If you want to feel strong psychoactive effects — check out THCP, THC-O, or delta 9 THC.

Overall, what’s most important is that you’re shopping for gummies that are legal and made with high-quality cannabis extracts and ingredients.

Delta 9 THC

Delta 9 THC is the OG in the THC space. It’s the primary active ingredient in the cannabis plant, and the number one contributing factor to its psychoactive effects.

This is also one of the first cannabinoids ever discovered (holds second place behind CBN).

Unfortunately, delta 9 THC is also listed as a Schedule I drug by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in the United States.

Gummies containing this type of THC tend to be quite strong, with a threshold dose of around 5 mg.

Delta 9 gummies are considered the best “all-purpose” gummies. They’re calming in lower doses and more stimulating in higher doses.

Delta 8 THC

Delta 8 THC is also found naturally in the cannabis plant, but in much lower concentrations than delta 9 (not even 0.1%).

This cannabinoid shares very similar psychoactive properties, but with more of a “relaxing lens” than delta 9 THC. Delta 8 is calming and somewhat sedative in higher doses. It has a heavier body load and users often feel more “clear-headed” while under the effects of delta 8.

With that said, if you take enough delta 8 gummies you’ll feel the same “spacey” effects that are characteristic to delta 9 THC products.

These gummies are generally better to use if your goal is to relax, unwind, or fall asleep.

Delta 10 THC

Delta 10 THC is similar to delta 8 — with milder and more clear-headed effects, but less potency than delta 9 THC. This cannabinoid has more of a “stimulating lens” compared to delta 8 THC. It’s most popular among students or those who like using THC products while they work.

Delta 10 THC is definitely psychoactive but seems to have less of a negative impact on productivity and focus than the other forms.

THCV

THCV (tetrahydrocannabivarin) is another naturally occurring cannabinoid but is exceedingly rare in nature. It’s only prevalent in certain African landrace strains of marijuana at concentrations rarely above 1%.

However, cannabis breeders have been working hard to develop new strains offering higher concentrations of THCV than ever before. The current record is 6% by a strain called Doug’s Varin.

This cannabinoid comes in both delta 8 THCV and delta 9 THCV forms — but only the delta 9 version is available. There still isn’t a reliable way of producing the delta 8 isomer, and the concentration in hemp or marijuana is too low to extract it naturally.

THCV gummies are a good option for people who like the energizing effects of THC. They’re a great tool to use while trying to unlock new creative ideas, tackle problem-solving from a new angle, or dial in at work.

THCV gummies are a bad option if you’re hoping to go to sleep within the next 5 hours.

THC-O

THC-O is a synthetic form of THC. It basically consists of a delta 9 THC molecule, with an acetate group attached.

This molecule isn’t active as it comes. It must first be metabolized by the liver to become active. THC-O is converted to delta 9 THC in the liver, which then goes on to exert the effects.

So the effects of this molecule would be identical to delta 9 THC if not for one thing: the alteration to it’s chemical structure makes it substantially more bioavailable.

THC-O absorbs roughly three times faster into the body — thus exerting noticeably stranger effects than an equivalent dose of simple delta 9 THC gummies.

THC-O gummies are not for the faint of heart. Only experienced cannabis users should shoot for this powerful cannabinoid.

It’s also important to note that while THC-O is widely available, it’s very likely to be illegal.

THCP

THCP is the most powerful psychoactive component of the cannabis plant. Early studies have found this cannabinoid binds to the ECS receptors roughly 33 more times than delta 9 THC.

This makes THCP substantially more potent than any other THC product on the market, with the exception of synthetic THC molecules (many of which are highly dangerous).

Some experts suggest differences in THCP concentrations could explain why some marijuana strains are so much stronger than others despite having virtually identical delta 9 THC concentrations.

THCP gummies are hard to find, and extremely potent. At the moment, we don’t recommend you use these products until the method for isolating and testing THCP becomes more developed. Right now there’s a high risk of error when testing and extracting, which leaves room for the introduction of unknown, potentially dangerous byproducts.

Additionally, because of how strong this cannabinoid is, the chances of experiencing side effects such as anxiety, insomnia, dizziness, or headaches is substantially higher.

HHC

HHC (AKA delta 0) is the hydrogenated version of THC. It has the same structure as delta 8 and delta 9, but doesn’t contain any double bonds on its central ring structure. This lack of bond changes the shape of the molecule slightly and alters the way it interacts with the endocannabinoid receptors.

HHC is slightly less potent than delta 9 THC, but more potent than delta 8.

HHC gummies are a good option for anybody who like THC and wants something a little different. The effects are more or less the same, but some people suggest subtle differences. The extent of these differences appears to depend entirely on the individual user. You’ll have to try it yourself to see how it affects you personally.

None of the laws regulating THC make much sense. Depending on where you live, delta 9 THC could sit within the same regulations as a bottle of wine, or heroin.

The federal government lists it as a Schedule I substance, which is reserved for only the most dangerous and addictive molecules.

However, many state laws consider it to have about the same potential for harm as wine or beer.

The other forms of THC have been excluded from the system entirely.

Some experts suggest they’re all legal because of this lack of mention. Others point at the federal analog act which passes the regulations of the known delta 9 THC to all the other noids that look like it.

Delta 8 THC products made from hemp plants live in a legal grey area, depending on how the US Farm Bill is interpreted.

Related: Deciphering the legal status of delta 8 THC.

There are certain states where delta 8, even hemp-derived, has already been banned, including:

Delta 9 THC is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis plants.

Delta 9 THC gummies made from marijuana plants remain federally illegal. As long as the starting material is hemp, rather than marijuana (the difference is semantic), and contains no more than 0.3% delta 9 THC, it’s technically legal.

Related: Hemp vs. Marijuana: What’s the Difference?

This is achieved by isomerizing CBD into delta 8 THC and discarding any delta 9 THC that forms as a byproduct of this reaction.

If the starting plant was marijuana, or the final product has more than 0.3% delta 9 THC, it’s illegal according to the federal gov. These products can only be purchased legally in states with recreational programs, or registered patients in medical states.

The Takeaway: Best THC Gummies

If you live in a state where marijuana is legal, you have your pick of the crop regarding THC gummies.

For states where marijuana remains frowned upon, delta 8, delta 10, or THCV gummies may be your only legal option.

Some places allow the sale of other versions too, such as HHC, THCP, or THC-O — but these are the least likely to be available.

If you’re looking to try some THC gummies yourself, check out Area 52, Delta Extrax, or Binoid to get started.

Since the laws surrounding THC and all its isomers are in constant flux, be sure to research your local laws before checking out your cart, always read the company’s third-party lab tests, and shop with brands you trust.
