Veritas Farms is one of the few companies that owns all stages of the supply chain — giving them ultimate control over the quality of the hemp as it moves through the entire manufacturing process.
The company spends a lot of effort producing high-quality hemp plants with complete terpene and cannabinoid profiles. Naturally, the company leverages its superior hemp by offering the majority of its products as a full-spectrum product. The only products made from a CBD distillate is the gummies, for reasons we’ll explain later.

The company uses sustainable and organic farming practices (not certified organic) and offers discounts to military veterans and people who stand to benefit the most from CBD supplements but can’t afford it.
Veritas Farms is also one of the few companies that publicly lists its executive staff — providing a much higher level of corporate transparency than you’ll find from most CBD companies.

They even carry a few specialty cosmetic products and some of the most unique pet products we’ve ever seen.

Veritas Farms innovates on two fronts — the cultivation side and the product development side.
On the cultivation side, Veritas Farms uses an environmentally friendly proprietary fertilizer blend is to maintain the ideal terpene ratios (which suggests this fertilizer is organic-based).
On the product development side, the company has a few innovative products we have yet to see elsewhere, especially within the pet space. Some of the more innovative designs are the hot spot treatment and canine ear cleaning kit.

The company ticks all the boxes for us on safety. Everything is tested and retested by the company itself and via third-party labs with no affiliation to the company. All these tests are provided publicly on the company website. The only tests you’ll need to dig a little deeper for by reaching out to customer service agents are the heavy metal, residual solvents, and microbial contamination tests.

About the Company: Veritas Farms
Veritas Farms is based out of Pueblo, Colorado. It was founded by Colorado locals Alexander Salgado and Erduis Sanabria.
The company owns its the hemp farm and extraction facility, which makes them one of the few CBD companies in the United States to use vertical integration as a business model — this means the company owns all aspects of the supply chain. Veritas Farms grows, harvests, processes, and bottles all of its own products. At no stage in the process is another lab or farm used aside from the third-party lab assessment which is an industry-standard to improve transparency.
Veritas Farms reports it has the capacity to grow 200,000 plants in the outdoor section of their farm and many thousands more in the climate-controlled greenhouses the company has on-site as well.
In line with the company’s effort to be as transparent as possible, anybody can book a tour to view the company’s farm and lab to see how they operate.
What Is Veritas Farms Mission?
Veritas Farms strives for perfection in its products. The company lists its mission statement on the website, which reads:
“At Veritas | Farms, our entire process is driven by perfectionism, fueled by relentless care, and aimed at improving the lives of our customers, and it all starts in the dirt.”
We’ve seen other companies list similar mission statements — but few that actually back these claims up. It doesn’t take much investigation to see how seriously Veritas Farms takes this mission of achieving perfection.
Here are some of the details of steps Veritas Farms takes to achieve its mission:
- Plants are all made from clones to preserve genetic makeup
- Plants are watered via drip irrigation to preserve water consumption
- Climate controlled greenhouses maintain ideal light, temperature, and humidity
- Plants are harvested according to the ripeness of the bud, rather than on a set schedule
- The plants are meticulously hung and dried in complete darkness after harvest
- Extraction is done with high-tech (and expensive) supercritical CO2
- Third-party testing is performed on the raw hemp and final extract
Where Does Veritas Farms Source Its Hemp?
By growing its own hemp, Veritas Farms is able to maintain full control over the entire process.
This step demands a lot more effort on behalf of the company, but it means they can maintain a lot more consistency in its products compared to companies that purchase dried hemp from external farms.
Master growers working on the farm use metrics like trichome color to determine the best time to harvest the crops to maintain the ideal cannabinoid profile during extraction. Just like other crops, such as apples or blueberries, the the hemp plant flower buds will become ripe for a period of time before they start to degenerate.
Having control over the harvest process means the company can harvest the crop at the height of the hemp flowers ripeness.
Veritas Farms uses clones of a mother plant stock — which is a technique some growers use to make sure every plant they harvest contains identical cannabinoid and terpene profiles. When growing hemp from seed, genetic mutations that occur naturally can change the chemical profile of the plant and make it hard to maintain consistency with the crop.

This is one of our favorite basic hemp oil options. It’s made with some seriously top-notch hemp, from a company with some of the best transparency policies in the industry.
The peppermint and citrus bottles are made with real essential oils — rather than synthetic flavoring agents. If you like to avoid synthetic additives whenever possible (like us) we suggest you go for the unflavored, peppermint, or citrus oils.
You can also get this oil in a large bottle with 100 mL oil and 1000 mg CBD — however, these larger bottles don’t offer the best value. The title for best values CBD oil goes to the 1500 mg and 2000 mg bottles (30 mL each) at just $0.10 per mg of CBD.

These gummies are made with a simple gummy base, CBD isolate, and a delicious wild berry flavor.
This is one of the only products in Veritas Farms’ lineup that uses CBD isolate instead of a full-spectrum extract. There’s a good reason for this — using CBD isolate in gummies tends to cause the resinous hemp extracts to clump. This can affect the balance of the dose in each gummy (making it difficult to split the dose in half equally).
By using CBD isolate, Veritas Farms can avoid these issues. If you want a half dose, just split the gummy in half.
These gummies are big — they’re a proper gummy candy, which contrasts the tiny little capsule-sized gummies most companies are selling. Just be careful not to get too carried away eating these delicious CBD treats.
These gummies are not vegan-friendly as they contain bovine gelatin. There are also some less than ideal ingredients including, titanium dioxide, food dyes, and artificial flavorings.

This eye cream is designed to reduce puffiness in the face, moisturize dry spots, and fortify delicate areas of skin.
The formula of this eye cream is impressive with ingredients such as jojoba oil, candelilla oil, caffeine, Albizia julibrissin bark extract, tocopherol, and cucumber fruit extract. It’s fairly potent as well with 6.6 milligrams of CBD for every milliliter of cream — this is much higher than most under-eye creams we’ve tried, which usually have around 0.5 mg/mL.
This cream feels light on the skin and absorbs very quickly. We found it to work especially well for dry skin, but it seems to work for puffiness and swelling as well.

This is Veritas Farms’ all-purpose CBD topical made with the same premium full-spectrum hemp extract used to make their CBD oils and capsules.
This salve is great for applying to the joints, dry patches of skin, scratches or abrasions to help with inflammation and pain. We recommend this stuff as an all-purpose salve to keep around in your medicine cabinet or your desk at work.
You can buy this salve in two potencies — however, we highly recommend you go for the higher potency. The 2.2 mg/mL salve (400 mg) is simply too weak to offer the full range of benefits from a CBD salve. Additionally, it comes at a much lower value than the high potency option ($0.22 per mg compared to $0.09 for the 500 mg bottle).

Veritas Farms has two roll-on options — each with a very potent dose of full-spectrum hemp extract and a convenient roll-on applicator. You can apply this stuff around the joints or other painful areas on the body. This applicator is also great for rubbing on the back of the neck to help ease headaches and muscle tension.
Both roll-on options are excellent and can be used for similar applications. However, we prefer the Mood Roll On (lavender and bergamot) for helping with sleep and muscle tension due to the relaxing effects of these essential oils. The Mind Roll On (rosemary and peppermint) is better for use during the day or at work for its uplifting effects.

Veritas Farms’ full-spectrum lotions are very similar to the salves but have a much creamier consistency. The salve is more of a wax, designed to remain on the skin and joints for longer periods of time to allow the CBD to absorb gradually over time.
The lotion is made with a different philosophy.
This product easily spreads a thin layer over large areas of the skin, offering better relief for large areas of dry or irritated skin but won’t last as long as the salve.
Unfortunately, there are some potential irritants in this formula — so if you have sensitive skin, we recommend taking a closer look at the ingredients list before you make your purchase.

We love this simple CBD massage oil. It’s made with just two ingredients but looks and feels exactly how you’d want from a massage oil.
The formula combines jojoba oil and full-spectrum hemp extract at a potency of 5 mg/mL (high for a massage oil).
We’re surprised this stuff is as affordable as it is. Jojoba oil is a notoriously expensive base oil and this massage oil is more potent in terms of CBD than other products in the massage oil category.
Jojoba oil is a perfect massage oil (despite the high cost). It’s technically a wax but behaves more like an oil. The chemical structure of jojoba oil closely matches the natural sebum of the skin, allowing the oil to quickly absorb into the skin — carrying the CBD along with it.
For long massages, something with longer fatty-acid chains and a lower absorption rate (like coconut, olive, or sesame oil) might be a better option — but for short messages into inflamed and painful muscles, this stuff works like a charm.

CBD lip balms are quickly becoming a class of their own. This lip balm from Veritas Farms is made with about half a dozen high-end base waxes and oils (beeswax, castor oil, olive oil, and carnauba wax) for a smooth, non-greasy formula.
The texture of this lip balm is waxy enough to protect the skin from the elements, but not so waxy you can’t use it in cold weather.

This sports cream is very straightforward — there are no fancy scents or extra herbal extracts — just a full-spectrum hemp extract and a fast-absorbing cream base.
However, we actually prefer the standard full-spectrum salve Veritas Farms makes to this Sports Cream. The potency is much lower than we’d like to see from a specialty product like this, and the absorption rate of this cream wasn’t any faster than the company’s other topicals.

We’ve had a look through these tests and couldn’t find anything that stuck out. Everything they have available passed with flying colors.
