CBD’s anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and other beneficial properties make it an excellent ingredient in topical products of all kinds. One such product is the CBD & hyaluronic acid cream from Nordic Oil.
This cream is designed specifically for supporting the delicate under-eye area. Unfortunately, as is the case with other products from the Nordic Cosmetics range, it contains too little CBD to offer any notable benefits. It also has a hefty price tag.
We recommend buying a product with at least 5 mg of CBD per mL instead or purchasing a standalone CBD balm or tincture to use under the eyes.

This eye cream has a hefty price tag: £1.22 per mg of CBD. It’s mainly because the container is small, so you’re paying a bigger portion for the packaging and other ingredients.
This under-eye cream is somewhat saved by the addition of other rich ingredients that offer a substantial benefit to reducing puffiness, redness, and dullness under the eyes.

The potency of this cream is 2 mg per mL. This amount is too small to reap CBD’s benefits, especially for a product like an eye cream that doesn’t require large doses. Ideally, CBD topicals should contain at least 4 mg/mL.

The CBD isolate in this cream comes from non-GMO, organic hemp plants cultivated in Europe. The continent is known for its established hemp industry, so this source is quite good.
However, Nordic Oil can improve by ordering third-party tests for pesticides and other contaminants and obtaining organic hemp certification.

Founded in 2018, Nordic Oil is a European CBD company. Its product lineup includes CBD oils, capsules, topicals and cosmetics, concentrates, e-liquids, isolate powders, pet products, and CBD-infused multivitamins.
Whereas most brands have a single website, Nordic Oil is unique for hosting multiple websites for individual European countries. It even has a dedicated site for its American customers, which offers products sold exclusively in the United States.
This also explains why Nordic Oil sources hemp from two locations: one in Europe, another one in California. Nordic’s hemp extracts are made using CO2 extraction and undergo third-party testing to verify their potency.
In sum, Nordic Oil has all the signs of a solid company.
Cost & Potency
At £1.22 per mg of CBD, this eye cream is one of the most expensive CBD products we’ve come across. Much of this hefty price is due to the small size of this cream, so a big portion of what you’re paying for is the packaging and other ingredients aside from CBD.
This product has the same low CBD potency as other Nordic Cosmetics products: 2 mg/mL. Unfortunately, this amount is not really enough to provide any significant skin benefits.
This is especially the case for eye creams since the area under the eyes requires only a small amount of product.
Generally speaking, we recommend that you look for topical products that contain at least 5 mg per mL for a noticeable difference.

Hyaluronic acid is a great all-around ingredient to address these issues, and CBD can be helpful as well due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. However, the CBD potency is too low.

The base ingredients in this eye cream are fairly standard, including common compounds such as xanthan gum and vitamin E. Meanwhile, the two most important ingredients are hyaluronic acid and CBD isolate (18 mg).
Hyaluronic acid is a natural compound found in the skin that’s been shown to have multiple benefits when applied topically, such as improving elasticity and wrinkles.
As for CBD, this formula has two weak points. Most importantly, it contains only 2 mg per mL, which is too low to offer any real benefits. Furthermore, this product contains CBD isolate, which is slightly less effective than full-spectrum CBD.

Final Verdict: Overpriced Eye Cream
Due to the small amount of CBD present, this product is nothing more than an expensive eye cream.
You’re not likely to get much benefit from CBD with a potency of only 2 mg/mL. This is even more true for an eye cream because the under-eye area is delicate and doesn’t require much product.
We certainly like the other ingredients. However, they can be found for a cheaper price in a regular eye cream. It makes more sense to buy a separate CBD balm with higher potency and apply it under the eyes than to buy this cream.
