Hempworx is a multilevel marketing company. This means they rely on brand ambassadors enticed into starting an “online business” to sell their products. Most of the profit from these schemes comes from the ambassadors themselves having to buy stock, take courses, or pay startup fees when they sign on with the company — rather than trying to sell CBD oils to actual paying customers.
While all MLM companies are sketchy to begin with, not all are malicious. Where does Hempworx sit in the spectrum of MLM CBD brands?
Mission/Charity2/5
Hempworx has a generic mission of bettering the health and wellbeing of its customers and affiliates through offering high-quality products – it mostly focusses on its Compensation Plan and Affiliate Program, which we’ll cover later on.
Hemp Source2/5
Hempworx doesn’t provide an exact hemp source location aside from stating that it sources it from American farms – there are other reviews on the internet saying the company gets its hemp from Kentucky, but we have no evidence to support these claims.
Product Range4/5
Hempworx offers a fairly considerable range of CBD products, spanning across CBD oil tinctures, topical products, CBD for pets, and CBD-infused coffee. Within these categories, there are 16 separate products encompassing different strengths – though most of them fall into the mild-to-medium strength range.
Innovation1/5
Hempworx uses the industry-standard CO2 extraction method for producing CBD-rich hemp extracts, which is favored by many large CBD brands. In addition, the company offers hemp-infused coffee products, which is a new and interesting use of CBD — however, the coffee product is one of the lowest-rated on our list. Overall the company isn’t contributing anything innovative to push the industry forward.
Safety3/5
It’s clear that Hempworx takes its safety and quality practices seriously considering it was just awarded the U.S. Hemp Authority stamp of approval; however, we’re concerned with the lack of third-party test results not being publicly displayed for every product on sale.
We’ll cover this further down in the review.
Customer Service2/5
Hempworx has a 60-day refund policy, whereby it will refund the full cost of its products after receiving the return if you are not satisfied 60 days after making a purchase.
However, the sole design of the company is to convince members of your social network to do the advertising for them. We view this as a strong negative point in the customer service department.
Hempworx is a CBD brand based in Las Vegas and was founded by entrepreneur couple, Josh and Jenna Zwagil in 2017 after merging with My Daily Choice, the parent company founded in 2014.
In an interview conducted by Online MLM Community in 2018 with one of Hempworx’s top recruiters, Erik Christian Johnson, he describes the company as “the cool kid on the block” that everyone wants in on – he then continues to outline the company’s growth of 200-300% per month, which is astronomical.
This is down to the company’s Compensation Plan, which allows people to participate in the company by referring others to its products and business opportunity. This business opportunity includes becoming an affiliate of the company and promoting its products, whilst getting a cut of the profits the more referrals you make – it’s as if you’re running your own business.
This structure makes Hempworx a multi-level marketing company.
A more in-depth overview of the Compensation Plan can be found in pdf form on the company’s website.
Hempworx’s flagship product is a full-spectrum CBD oil that comes in the standard 30 mL tincture containing 500, 750, and 1500 mg of full-spectrum hemp extract. This tincture comes in three different flavors: Natural (unflavored), Cinnamon, and Peppermint.
The individual strengths are perfect for any CBD user – we recommend the 500 mg option to beginner CBD users.

Hempworx describes this product as “a robust topical facial cream which utilizes Hydrolyzed Collagen and Retinol to boost skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines”.
Available as a 30 mg option in a 15 mL bottle for the price of $69.00, this is a pretty reasonable strength to price ratio for a CBD skincare product – however, be aware that this product is not all-natural due to it containing Laureth-7 and C13-14 isoparaffin, both of which are synthetic.

Hempworx markets its Hemp-Infused Coffee product as a keto-friendly, hemp-infused coffee designed to help “with the ever-growing demand for weight management products”.
The coffee contains organic Arabica beans and organic chaga mushroom, containing only 5 mg of CBD in every cup of coffee you brew.
The CBD Keto Coffee Creamers come in three separate flavors: Hazelnut, Vanilla, and Mocha.
These creamers are designed to “give coffee drinkers a healthier alternative to the regular sugary creamers in the marketplace” and contain MCT oil, hemp-derived CBD, and Garcinia Cambogia – the latter being a tropical fruit native to Indonesia.
Both product options are vegan, gluten-free, and non-dairy.

4. CBD For Pets
A) Hempworx CBD Pet Oil
Made specifically for your “furry friends”, Hempworx emphasizes that this product was designed with your pet’s wellbeing in mind.
The company has only one 250 mg CBD pet oil variant available in a 30 mL bottle – thankfully, the product is also flavored for picky eaters, but it’s still wise to mix it in with food regardless.
The company provides a dosing guide on the bottle’s label: Half a dropper twice daily for animals weighing 1-25 lbs and a full dropper twice daily for animals weighing 26-50 lbs.

What Does Hempworx Do Well?
1. Very Well Laid Out Website
We’ve said this before and we’ll most certainly say it again: A fantastically designed website that’s easy to navigate with clear links, perfectly placed images, and enough literature for its customers to stay informed on company happenings and its CBD products.
This is where Hempworx shines.
2. Reasonable Prices
As stated in the introduction to this review, the CBD craze has hit a fever pitch, which, of course, brings along with it unscrupulous companies looking to throw over-priced products into the void and hope it gives them a quick buck.
Hempworx, however, has put its prices at a reasonable and affordable level despite the strength and size being offered. The 1500 mg CBD oil, for example, isn’t nearly as expensive as other products on the market.
3. Generous Returns Policy
Most CBD companies offer a 30-day money-back guarantee; however, Hempworx offers double that, which isn’t common in the CBD industry at all.
We go into this in more detail below.
Where Could Hempworx Improve?
1. Publish Third-Party Test Results for all Products
This is something we’ll cover in more detail below, but it’s worth mentioning it briefly here as a major point of improvement.
Hempworx fails to provide publicly-accessible third-party test results for every product it sells, which is a bit of a red flag – third party Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are very important to the transparency and credibility of a CBD company and failure to provide this doesn’t look great on our side.
2. Not Very Customer-Focussed
Hempworx seemingly puts more focus on its Compensation Plan and, by extension, Affiliate Program than it does on what it can do for its everyday customers.
Without trying to sound like the gatekeepers of everything ethical and morally right in the CBD industry, the company delivers very little in the way of a mission statement, unless you count its mission to make the affiliates money as one.
3. MLM Corporate Structure
There’s no beating around the bush with this one — Hempworx is an MLM company. As such, they primarily focus on selling their products to their affiliates, use complex payout structures, and require a “welcome kit fee”. Affiliates are also required to buy their own stock and instructed on how to leverage their own social network to move products.
While Hempworx appears to be one of the more modest MLM companies to work for, we very much dislike this business model. We’ve already covered the issues with multi-level marketing in the CBD world here.
Safety & Third-Party Testing
When we talk about safety and third-party testing, we usually see them both as synonymous. Third-party testing not only shows transparency in a company, but it also shows dedication to producing and selling clean, legal, and pure products fit for human use.
Hempworx slightly falls short here.
Whilst the company does make an effort to update and publicly post some of its third-party test results, many others are either outdated or don’t exist. Now, before we jump the gun, it’s worth noting the already existing third-party test results were updated very recently, so it could be that Hempworx is in the process of updating all of them periodically.
However, it’s worth noting Hempworx was awarded a U.S. Hemp Authority certification March 1st, 2019 for meeting “the stringent standards the industry laid out for product quality and safety” – the certification can be found here.
Hempworx Shipping & Returns Policy
According to Hempworx’s Shipping Policy, the company “offers shipping throughout the United States and 150+ countries internationally”.
However, a disclaimer is placed stating ” If you happen to live outside of the United States, please note that we cannot guarantee that the package will make it. All international orders are done at the risk of the customer.
All domestic orders are sent using US Postal Service, USPS, and UPS – international orders are sent using DHL.
Hempworx also offers a very generous 60-day money-back guarantee if you’re dissatisfied with your product(s). If your package is delivered damaged, you have 10 business days to declare this to the company by emailing the support team using support@mydailychoice.com.
Final Verdict: Hempworx is a Decent Brand, But Not Outstanding
Hempworx is a decent CBD brand with a reasonable pricing structure, but the quality of the oil is underwhelming, to say the least. Additionally, the sales model the company uses is through complex multilevel marketing schemes.
The Compensation Plan and Affiliate Program is great for those looking to network and make money from the company’s products — however, judging by the website and most of the literature, CBD is simply a secondary thought.
Though the company has recently been awarded the U.S. Hemp Authority certification for outstanding quality and safety practices, we’re still concerned with the missing COAs – this needs to be sorted out as soon as possible.
