CBD capsules are an industry staple. Green Garden Gold claims to have reformulated the best full-spectrum CBD capsules on the market, but GGG Softgels don’t make the cut in our books. The brand’s lack of transparency when it comes to third-party testing and customer service just doesn’t measure up to its competitors.
GGG tends to have budget products with high markups. The average full-spectrum CBD capsule on the market rings in at $0.12 per mg of CBD. These capsules cost half of that. This is actually one of GGG’s only products on par with the content’s quality. You’ll find out why in later detail — these capsules embellish on the truth of its contents. This price point is fair game — you get what you pay for.
These capsules have a potency of 30 mg each, making it an effective medium-strength capsule. Depending on your CBD requirements, it’s easy to administer more when needed.
Green Garden Gold doesn’t provide any dosing or recommendations on how to get the most out of these CBD Oil Capsules. For a CBD supplier, it’s irresponsible not to include dosing information or recommended use. It can result in an unpleasant experience from adverse side effects.
On top of this, these don’t contain full-spectrum extract. You won’t be receiving the full benefits of the entourage effect with these capsules if that is something you’re looking for in your CBD supplementation.
We like to see companies offer a bit of variety when it comes to CBD products. This allows customers to tailor their CBD use as their needs may change over time. This is a medium-strength product at 900 mg of CBD per bottle or 30 mg of CBD per capsule.
This is a relatively basic formula of MCT coconut oil and “full-spectrum” CBD extract in quick-dissolving capsules. Judging from the CoA, GGG most-likely uses a broad-spectrum formula. This is a mixture of isolated cannabinoids blended together. While it does have a cannabinoid profile, it doesn’t deliver nearly the same benefits of a real full-spectrum extract.
This is most likely to cut manufacturing costs, and it’s not uncommon in the industry. Broad-spectrum oils aren’t necessarily a bad thing since it does offer more diversity than a CBD isolate extract. However, it would be nice if GGG were more upfront about its products.
Green Garden Gold put out the new and improved CBD Oil Capsules and claims, “it’s the best on the market.”
There are hundreds of brands in this space, producing CBD capsules. Where do GGG’s CBD capsules stand in our rating system?
By the end of this article, you’ll be able to read between the lines of marketing jargon and determine for yourself whether the GGG Softgels are worth the purchase. You’ll know what makes a top-notch CBD product and where some companies are cutting corners.
Green Garden Gold’s Softgels will set you back $62.99 for a one month supply (30-capsules) with 30 mg of CBD per capsule.
Its formula is simple — MCT coconut oil and full-spectrum extract. We recommend full-spectrum CBD extracts for those looking to use CBD to treat symptoms because of its diverse range of cannabinoids and terpenes can produce stronger therapeutic benefits than CBD can do on its own.
This is one of the very few products in GGG’s offering that are priced reasonably at $0.07 per mg of CBD. We’ve mentioned in the GGG review that the brand offers budget products at above-average price points. This one seems to hit the right price tag for what’s in the packaging.

Capsules are one of the most reliable ways of ensuring you’re getting a consistent dose. Each capsule delivers 30 mg of CBD. There’s no guess-work to be done here when it comes to dosing. Softgels are made from gelatin, which dissolves much faster and is easier to swallow than traditional waxy-based casings.
An excellent hemp source is a critical factor in the quality of the final product. Because hemp is a bioaccumulator, it absorbs the nutrients and pollutants from its surroundings much faster than it breaks them down. If the hemp crops in your capsules were grown in contaminated soil, contaminants could end up in the final product.
GGG sources its hemp from USDA certified organic farms in Colorado. This is a good indication that the hemp quality is one of the best in the country. The farms must be free from harmful pesticides and abide by strict farming practices.
Everyone loves a redemption story…
In 2016, Green Garden Gold (GGG) ran into some controversy with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) because of claims the brand made on its website. GGG claimed its CBD was able to cure and treat diseases. These extravagant claims were in the form of blog posts, product descriptions, and fake testimonials.
Since then, the company has made changes to the products offered and its marketing strategy, but has its integrity improved?
GGG still has a lot to work on to redeem itself from its dodgy past. This includes complete and regular third-party lab tests and a responsive customer service representative.
GGG’s Softgels are a convenient and consistent way to get your daily CBD intake, making them excellent for beginners and experienced CBD users alike.
These capsules are pre-measured with 30 mg of CBD per cap and will deliver long-lasting effects over inhalation methods. However, when CBD is ingested, it can take up to an hour before you feel its effects, so it’s not ideal for immediate pain relief.
By the time the CBD makes it past the digestive enzymes, only 2-20% of the compound will make it into the bloodstream. The benefit of edible CBD products is that the effects can last up to 7 hours.
MCT oil is often included with CBD extracts because it improves the bioavailability of the active compounds, but we’ll touch on that later in the article…
First, let’s talk about the benefits of CBD supplementation. It’s been shown to offer relief for the following conditions:
The average price for a 900 mg bottle of CBD capsules costs around $0.12 per mg of CBD. GGG’s CBD Oil Capsules cost almost half of that.

GGG’s Softgels only come in one strength at 30 mg of CBD per capsule. This is a fair medium-strength capsule — If you need a stronger dose, you can double-up later in the day or supplement your dose with CBD tincture, vaping, or gummies.

CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). It’s responsible for maintaining homeostasis (balance) in the body through its interactions with other systems.
Determining what product will work best for you will depend on several factors, including your history with CBD, age, sex, weight, and symptom you’re treating.
As a general rule of thumb for dosing CBD, start low and slow.
How much you should take will look different for everyone, but starting off with smaller doses and gradually building up will help you better understand how your body responds to CBD.
We’ve provided a guide on dosing CBD based on body weight and the strength of dose desired.
Weight (lbs) | Low Strength | Medium Strength | High Strength |
100 lbs | 10 mg | 30 mg | 60 mg |
125 lbs | 13 mg | 38 mg | 75 mg |
150 lbs | 15 mg | 45 mg | 90 mg |
175 lbs | 17 mg | 52 mg | 105 mg |
200 lbs | 20 mg | 60 mg | 120 mg |
225 lbs | 22 mg | 67 mg | 135 mg |
250 lbs | 25 mg | 75 mg | 150 mg |
Note: Safety comes first, so always be sure to consult a doctor before using CBD to relieve very serious conditions.
GGG sources its hemp and is processed in Colorado, known for its high-quality industrial hemp. GGG is also USDA certified organic.
The extraction method used is supercritical CO2 extraction, which has become a standard in the industry. CO2 eliminates the use of harmful solvents yet still maintains valuable cannabinoids.
Green Garden Gold has incomplete third-party lab testing.
Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) conducted by non-biased third-party labs prove the safety and profile of a given CBD product. We like to see when brands value this transparency with its customers. GGG, however, is not one of those companies.
If you’re not sure what you’re looking at, the CoA for this product seems fine at first glance. Here’s the last report showing the cannabinoid profile and potency of the CBD Oil Capsules.
Green Garden Gold recommends you incorporate these full-spectrum capsules into your daily routine for best results.
CBD has become a popular supplement to aid with mood regulation, regulate the sleep-wake cycle, and manage stress. However, to comply with FDA standards, GGG doesn’t make health claims about these products.
Green Garden Gold uses an MCT coconut oil as the base for the extract.
CBD is fat-soluble. This allows for larger amounts of CBD to mix with MCT oil, and therefore higher strengths available without clumping or separation in the mixture.
MCT is also a great source of Omegas 3, 6, and 9, as mentioned in the product description. However, in small amounts, even popping 2 or 3 capsules per day, you won’t receive enough of these essential fatty acids to take advantage of MCT oil as a supplement.
Why choose full-spectrum?
CBD is not the only therapeutic compound found in hemp. The hemp has hundreds of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other phytonutrients that all work synergistically to produce greater health benefits than CBD or any compound can do on its own. This is known as the entourage effect.
This sounds great, right?
We would be more convinced if GGG also provided the terpene results of the extract used. Terpenes are the chemical compounds that give plants its distinct smell and flavor.
A full-spectrum extract maintains the majority of the compounds, including terpenes, which are shown to have therapeutic effects.
We’re not entirely convinced this is a true full-spectrum extract with the only 7 cannabinoids present and no terpenes tested in the CoA — we’re thinking this is a broad-spectrum extract instead.
There are a couple of ways to make a broad-spectrum extract. One of them involves isolating cannabinoids and re-combing them into desired quantities.
Natural full-spectrum extracts are more expensive. To cut costs, manufacturers will take isolated compounds (CBD, CBC, CBG, and CBN) and mix them to produce a more “natural” looking profile.
It won’t provide the same level of synergy as a proper full-spectrum extract, but it will offer more chemical diversity over CBD isolates.
Again, a complete CoA would clear this up.
Another crucial component missing is the report on harmful substances. GGG’s hemp is certified organic. This means the changes the hemp has come into contact with hazardous pesticides and other toxins are low, but it should still be reported on.
Hemp is a bioaccumulator. This means the plants absorb harmful substances in their environment faster than it can break it down. If these toxins are present in the hemp, it will end up in the final product.
US orders over $100 are eligible for free shipping, and international shipping is a flat rate of $12 — not too shabby.
Returns can be made within 30 days of the initial purchase, and full refunds are offered for products with proof of purchase. Refunds are issued after the products are inspected and approved. Items that have not been opened can be shipped back at no cost to the customer.
There are hundreds of other CBD capsules on the market with more brands emerging every day.
We want to make sure the products we recommend are what we would use ourselves. The poor marketing, lack of company integrity, and ambiguity of the third-party lab results are not worth spending our hard-earned cash on.
Luckily for you, we’ve made your CBD product research a whole lot easier with an article of our favorite CBD capsules.
