Charlotte’s Web Hemp Infused Balm

Charlotte’s Web undercuts the topical CBD market with these well-formulated balms.

Made with the same high-quality full-spectrum CBD extracts Charlotte’s Web is famous for, these products are excellent options for anybody looking to use CBD to rejuvenate and moisturize their skin.

This topical is one of the best CBD topicals available for the price. It contains a host of other supportive ingredients, a relatively high concentration of CBD (10 mg/g), and uses a premium hemp extract to form the basis of the product.

Price/Value 5/5

The Hemp Infused Balms are some of the least expensive options currently available. Many competing products are sold for $0.25 or more per mg of CBD while Charlotte’s Web’s balms are priced are $0.10 or less. Additionally, these topicals are loaded with other natural ingredients to boost their therapeutic potential.

CBD Potency 5/5

The potency of this balm isn’t entirely clear — but from what we’ve been able to determine from talking to Charlotte’s Web team, mixed with our own calculations, we estimate this balm contains about 10 mg per g. This is a good dose of CBD for a balm — especially when using a premium full-spectrum hemp extract complete with additional terpenes, cannabinoids, and other phytochemicals.

Hemp Source 4/5

All of Charlotte’s Web’s hemp is grown in Colorado, Kentucky, and Oregon. The company guarantees that the final products are free from synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides — claims that are supported by the company’s test results. Once Charlotte’s Web achieves certified organic status, it’ll receive 5 stars in this category.

Purpose/Uses 5/5

These balms are designed mostly to reduce surface-level skin conditions including acne, rashes, dry or flaky skin, and itchiness.

The formulation of other ingredients, and smooth hydrating consistency of this balm support that application.

Product Variations 4/5

The Hemp Infused Balms are available in two container sizes: 0.5 and 1.5 oz with 150 and 450 mg of CBD, respectively. Charlotte’s Web also offers a Hemp Infused Cream with its own unique formula. Overall, this is a solid selection but we’d like to see a more pain-specific topical as well.

Formulation/Ingredients 5/5

These balms contain a wealth of beneficial ingredients to better target dry, itchy skin. There are also a few ingredients with anti-inflammatory and pain-reducing properties. Some of these beneficial ingredients include camphor, shea butter sunflower seed oil, and vitamin E.

Charlotte’s Web Hemp Infused Balm Review

About the Company: Charlotte’s Web

Charlotte’s Web was one of the first American companies to enter the CBD industry. The company had been growing cannabis for many years before developing a high-CBD, low-THC strain to help a young girl named Charlotte manage seizures associated with Dravet’s Syndrome — this strain would become known as Charlotte’s Web.

From this moment, Charlotte’s Web began to focus more on CBD extracts. The company has expanded its product line to include tinctures, topicals, capsules, pet oils, and isolates.

Charlotte’s Web is also one of the very few companies that grow its hemp on proprietary farms — which allows it to have greater control over the quality and consistency of the final product.

Who Should Consider Using Charlotte’s Web Hemp Infused Balms?

These balms are meant to be used to promote healthy, moisturized skin. They may reduce the occurrence of dry, itchy, or flaky skin.

Some common causes of these symptoms include acne, eczema, rashes, or psoriasis.

Charlotte’s Web topicals may be able to provide a much-needed relief from your symptoms by combining CBD with other natural herbs and extracts.

Cost & Potency

Charlotte’s Web Hemp Infused Balm is on the less expensive side of the spectrum. The balms cost $0.10 or less per mg of CBD — it’s not uncommon to see topicals that cost upwards of $0.25 per mg of CBD. The value of the balm is significantly boosted by its innovative, symptom-specific formulas.

Hemp Source

Charlotte’s Web uses industrial hemp grown in Colorado, Kentucky, and Oregon.

All of its products are free from synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. Charlotte’s Web is vertically integrated and oversees the development process from the soil to the container. The company also provides test results for all of its products to back up its claims — however, they’re conducted in-house.

Charlotte’s Web is one of the few companies certified by the United States Hemp Authority.

Purpose & Uses

Charlotte’s Web suggests using its CBD topicals if you’re struggling with persistent skin conditions and are looking for a natural way to manage your symptoms. These topicals may be able to effectively reduce dry, itchy skin, or the appearance of acne, scars, and stretch marks.

Product Variations & Flavors

The Hemp Infused Balm is available in two container sizes: 0.5 oz and 1.5 oz. Unfortunately, there are no options regarding scent or potency.

However, Charlotte’s Web has a Hemp Infused Cream with a different formula — it’s also available in scented and unscented options.

Overall, this is a good selection of CBD topicals but we’d like to see a formula more focused on relieving pain and inflammation.

Formulation & Ingredients

In addition to CBD, the Hemp Infused Balm contains a few other ingredients that may help to target your symptoms more effectively.

Key Ingredients of the Hemp Infused Balm:

  1. Apricot Kernel Oil — When used topically, apricot kernel oil can reduce the appearance of acne, blemishes, fine lines, wrinkles, and moisturize your skin.
  2. Camphor — Camphor is an effective anti-inflammatory that can reduce the pain and stiffness of conditions like arthritis and can help heal burns faster.
  3. Shea Butter — Shea butter moisturizes your skin and fights dry, itchy spots.
  4. Sunflower Seed Oil — Sunflower seed oil is an anti-inflammatory that can reduce redness and encourage the production of new skin cells. It’s also high in vitamin E — which can shield your skin from the harmful effects of free radicals. Sunflower seed oil can fight acne and reduce signs of aging.
  5. Vitamin E — Vitamin E is an antioxidant that can protect your skin from free radicals. Free radicals are associated with cancers, heart disease, and other diseases. It’s useful for moisturizing the skin and reducing the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

Charlotte’s Web Shipping & Return Policy

Charlotte’s Web has a 30-day return policy for all of its products. If you’re unsatisfied for any reason, you can send back the unused portion of your product for a full refund.

The company only ships to the United States and select Canadian customers at this time.

American customers receive free shipping on all orders over $74.99. If you’re Canadian, you’ll need to receive an exemption from Health Canada to order Charlotte’s Web products.

Final Verdict: A Solid CBD Topical to Target Dry, Itchy Skin

Charlotte’s Web CBD balms are some of the least expensive options on the market. We’re used to paying closer to $0.25 per mg of CBD when it comes to topicals, and Charlotte’s Web severely undercuts the competition.

At $0.17 or less per mg of CBD, the Hemp Infused Balm is a great deal. When combined with the other natural ingredients, you’re in for a powerful product that’s easy on your wallet.

Ingredients in the formula like camphor, shea butter, and vitamin E make these balms well rounded to fight against dry, itchy skin.

We’d like Charlotte’s Web to be more transparent about the actual CBD content in its balms but otherwise, this appears to be an excellent product.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive CBD topical to treat surface skin conditions such as acne, dryness or itchiness, or mild pain, Charlotte’s Web CBD topicals may be the solution you’ve been looking for. Stick to the large container size for the most bang for your buck.
