Cannaflower Review

Cannaflower (formerly Berkshire CBD) specializes in making premium-quality hemp flower. The company’s farm is located in New England, where a team of professional growers work to deliver some of the best hemp flower we’ve tried yet.

This company grows all of its hemp using organic farming practices and produces some very interesting strains we haven’t seen elsewhere. This brand ticks all the boxes — excellent selection of hemp strains, a strong focus on the quality of its products, third-party testing, competitive pricing, and all-American-grown hemp.

If you’re looking for top-notch hemp flower, Cannaflower is a brand worth checking out.

Mission/Charity 5/5

The Cannaflower mission is simply to make the best premium hemp flower possible.

While this mission is quite simple and doesn’t offer any specific motivation for being in the industry — we feel they follow through with this goal very well. Everything you buy from this company is prepared with exceptional care and consideration, and the quality of each bud is well above the average.

Hemp Source 5/5

Cannaflower grows all its hemp with organic farming methods using certified-organic fertilizer. All the hemp offered on the website is sold on the company’s own farm where they have ultimate control over the entire process — from seed to harvest.

We especially like that this company specifies exactly what it does to prepare the hemp after harvest. This is a particularly important factor in determining the final quality of the hemp. If the hemp isn’t dried and cured properly, and over long-periods of time, the final quality will be low regardless of how healthy the plant was during cultivation.

Overall, the source of hemp Cannaflower is using is top-notch in our books.

Product Range 5/5

This company offers a wide range of CBD flower options to choose from. Some of these strains, such as Elektra are more mild in nature, with pleasant uplifting effects for daytime use. Other strains are much more potent as a sedative, such as the Silver Haze or Bubba Kush strains.

Virtually all strains listed on the company’s website contain at least 15% CBD by dried weight — which is potent enough for even the most seasoned CBD flower users to benefit from.

Innovation 5/5

One aspect where the company may be ahead of the curve is with their CBG flower option. CBG is a cannabinoid related to CBD, but with a different set of effects. Cannaflower offers their own strain of hemp selectively bred to produce high concentrations of this cannabinoid specifically.

Safety 5/5

Samples from every batch of CBD flower grown or sourced by Cannaflower is sent to a third-party lab to be tested. The lab will check the cannabinoid profiles, terpene ratios, and look for any traces of contamination — including heavy metal, mycotoxins, or pesticides.

The company then publishes these tests live on the website for all to see.

This is the highest level of safety a company can hit when it comes to CBD flower.

Customer Service 5/5

The customer service team is very helpful and was able to answer all of our questions (including a trick question) within 24 hours.

All orders are backed by a 14-day satisfaction guarantee. If you’re not happy with your order for any reason, send the customer service team a note and they’ll get it sorted out for you as fast as possible.

Cannaflower Company Review

Article By

About the Company: Cannaflower (Formerly Berkshire CBD)

Cannaflower recently changed their name from Berkshire CBD.

This company is a small, family-owned farm located in New England, USA. They grow most of the hemp sold on the website, but also source some strains from affiliated farms.

Everything this company does is focused on quality. The growing process is done using organic methods — which are expensive and tedious at the best of times. After harvesting the CBD flower is put through a careful drying and extraction process lasting over 60-days. This gives the buds enough time to age and cure properly to produce the best flavor and effect profile possible.

Everything the company sells is considered legal in the United States under the 2018 Farm Bill. None of its flower contains more than the legal limit of 0.3% THC by dried weight.

Products Offered By Cannaflower

This company primarily sells hemp in the form of raw, cured flower and pre-rolls — but also offers three distinct CBD oils as well.

Let’s cover what the company has to offer and how they compare in terms of price and potency to other products on the market.

1. CBD & CBG Hemp Buds

Cannaflower specializes in raw, CBD-rich hemp flower.

There are thousands of different hemp flower strains, each with their own subtle differences in flavor, potency, terpene profiles, and appearance.

Some hemp flower is better for relaxing, others have a mild stimulating action.

All the hemp flower sold by Cannaflower is completely non-psychoactive and legal to order anywhere within the United States.

A) White Rabbit

White Rabbit is a rotating stock of limited-edition strains grown on the farm as “small-batch experimental strains”. This is a great option for those of you interested in trying out unique strains you’ve probably never heard of before.

Cannaflower is constantly testing out and developing new hemp genetics so the White Rabbit package is a way for their loyal customers to test out some of the new and innovative strains the company has in the works.

The strain listed at the moment is called — “Frosted Lime”.

B) Remedy

The Remedy strain seems to be popping up everywhere. It’s widely considered a staple in the hemp space for its pleasant juniper and pine flavor with a mild citrus undertone (rich in terpenes such as myrecene and pinene). The effects of this strain are mild, but lean towards the sedative and relaxing side of the scale.

This is a good CBD flower to keep on hand if you tend to use hemp in the evenings before bed.

C) Bubba Kush

Bubba Kush is a very popular strain in the marijuana market — now you can enjoy this iconic strain in a low-THC form as well!

This strain has flavors of chocolate and citrus fruits and offers a powerful relaxing effect. It’s high in the terpenes a-humulene and d-limonene.

This strain wasn’t grown on the Cannaflower Farm, but was sourced from an affiliated farm in Oregon.

This is one of our favorite strains of all time for its reliable relaxing effects and incredible flavor.

D) White CBG

This is considered a CBG flower rather than CBD hemp flower because the emphasis on selectively breeding this strain was on producing the highest CBG content possible.

CBG (cannabigerol) is a related cannabinoid that serves as the precursor for both CBD and THC with its own set of effects unique to CBD.

For example, CBG is a potent muscle relaxant but has little effect on perception. It helps your muscles relax and your body feel relaxed without being overly drowsy.

This strain is also one of the lowest THC options the company offers. Testing shows this flower contains almost no THC whatsoever.

E) Cherry Wine

This bud has a pleasant sweet undertone backed by citrus and pine flavors. These flowers are rich in b-Caryophyllene and Linalool, which make it a good choice for late-night users or people looking for more potent muscle-relaxant effects.

This particular strain is best used in a vape to pick out the subtle sweet flavor underlining this unique hemp strain.

The Cherry Wine strain and its associated packaging makes for an excellent gift.

F) Lifter

The Lifter strain is recommended on the Cannaflower website for promoting creativity — and we tend to agree.

This strain was bred with more emphasis on the uplifting effects of hemp flower rather than the sedative or analgesic qualities. This strain is highest in linalool, limonene, and humulene.

G) Elektra

Elektra is another popular hemp strain grown by a number of hemp farms around the country. Cannaflower is one of our favorite suppliers of this industry standard.

This is a particularly good daytime hemp flower. It’s mildly uplifting, offers reliable pain-reduction and anti-inflammatory effects, but isn’t overly sedative compared to other strains with similar qualities.

Elektra has the flavor of fresh clove with floral and sweet top-notes. Testing shows this strain is highest in a-pinene, b-caryophyllene, and myrcene.

H) Suver Haze

This hemp flower was grown on an affiliated farm in Vermont. It has an excellent smooth smoke but also makes a great addition to your dry herb vaporizer.

The flavor of this CBD flower has notes of cardamom, lemon balm, and pine.

We like this flower for use in the evenings. It starts out uplifting and mildly euphoric, but gradually fades into a more sedative effect after about 2 hours or so.

I) Special Sauce

Canna Flower describes this strain as “flexing with flavor”. This sums it up quite well. The flavor profile of this strain is very unique — it tastes somewhat like cotton candy, lemon, and pine trees.

If you like the sweeter flavors in your hemp — especially if using dry herb vapes, this is a strain you can’t miss out on.

The effects of this strain are well-balanced — it’s both relaxing and uplifting at the same time.

J) Hawaiian Haze

We’re starting to see a lot more haze strains making their way into the CBD space, such as this top-notch fruit-flavored haze descendant.

Haze genetics are particularly uplifting in their effects and offer characteristic fruity, tropical flavors.

This strain is recommended for both day and night, but we found it was much more stimulating than we’d like in a nightime hemp strain. We recommend keeping this stuff around for daytime use, or at least 4 hours before your bedtime to avoid feeling too energized when it comes time to doze off to sleep.

H) Sour Space Candy

This is an epic name for a hemp strain. It makes for a good gift for your hemp connoisseur friends.

The flavor of this CBD flower is described as lemon, cheese, and tropical fruit — an interesting blend of flavors, no-doubt. Tests show this strain is highest in b-caryophyllene and a-pinene in terms of terpenes.

Cost & Potency Breakdown of CBD Hemp Buds
Order Size Imperial Equivalent Total Cost Cost per Gram
1 gram $9.95 $9.95
3.5 grams ⅛ ounce $24.95 $7.15
7 grams ¼ ounce $39.95 $5.70
14 grams ¼ ounce $64.95 $4.64
28 grams 1 ounce $109.95 $3.92

2. CBD Flower (By Effect)

A) Lift

This strain is specifically chosen to provide uplifting effects. It’s a great strain for people using hemp during the day or at work. It’s non-sedating and has a positive effect on the creative thought process and mood.

This strain is high in terpenes such as limonene, linalool, and humulene.

B) Rest

Rest is best used at the end of the day as you wind down and prepare for bed. It’s chock-full of terpenes including borneol and myrcene — both of which offer powerful sedative and relaxing effects. They also give this flower more of an earthy flavor with cinnamon undertones.

C) Joy

This strain is a good option for socializing with friends, or while out on a hike. It’s non-sedating and even has some mild euphoric effects. This particular strain is rich in terpenes such as b-caryophyllene and a-pinene.

D) Calm

Calm can be placed somewhere in between Rest and Lift in terms of its effects. It’s relaxing on both the mind and the body but isn’t as sedating as Rest.

Tests show this strain is high in the terpenes myrcene and b-caryophyllene.

While this isn’t our favorite in terms of flavor, the calming effects are hard to deny.

3. CBD Flower Pre-Rolls

You can also find specialized single-strain pre-rolls from Cannaflower. Fitting in with the company’s other product lineup, the packaging for these pre-rolls are stunning. They make for an excellent gift to your CBD loving friends.

Each pack is available in the same four strains listed under the “CBD by Effect” lineup:

  • Calm — for promoting relaxation
  • Lift — for use during the day or at work (non-sedating)
  • Joy — great for socializing or nights out (mild euphoric feeling)
  • Rest — for use before bed to help you sleep

4. CBD Oil

All Cannaflower CBD oils are made from single-strain full-spectrum extracts.

We love how these oils are made from single strains — which allows the company to offer different products aimed at supporting specific complaints or conditions while maintaining the raw, natural profile of the original hemp plants.

Each option comes in 15 mL bottles with either 375 or 750 mg of CBD:

  1. Calm — A relaxing strain for anxiety or daily stress
  2. Rest — A sedative option for helping you get to sleep
  3. Relief — A good strain for chronic pain and inflammation

Safety & Third-Party Testing

All the hemp flower listed on the Cannaflower website has been thoroughly tested both internally, and in an independent lab.

All these tests are published live on the companies website for all to see and are updated every time a new batch is ready for sale.

We had a look through some of the recent posts, and the only thing we found was that one of the batches tested slightly over the 0.3% THC limit with 0.37% showing up on the test. None of the hemp flower on the website showed any indication of low-quality or contamination and the cannabinoid and terpene profiles were all on point with what the company claims for each strain.

Cannaflower Shipping & Return Policy

Cannaflower will only ship within the United States — but will ship to every state.

The company claims all its hemp contains less than 0.3% THC (the federal limit) — however, some of their strains are walking a close line. If you live in a particularly strict state, we recommend you double-check the THC content on the posted third-party results and choose a product confirmed to contain less than 0.3%.

Final Verdict: An Excellent Source For Organic Hemp CBD Flower

Cannaflower is one of our go-to sources for hemp flower. They sell exceptional quality flower in over a dozen unique strain choices. There’s something for everybody from this company. Whether you want something to help you sleep, help you study, relieve pain, or simply for an interesting set of flavors — there’s a CBD flower that will fit the bill.

Our favorite strain at the moment is the Bubba Kush, but just about anything you choose isn’t likely to disappoint.

In the rare event that it does disappoint, the company offers a satisfaction guarantee if claimed within two weeks of making your purchase.

If you want to get the best value for your money, make sure to pick up the combo packs. They have a higher initial cost, but the total cost per gram is much lower than if you were to buy individual flowers on their own — plus you’ll end up with a variety of different hemp flower to try out.
