CBD For Life Pure CBD Foot Cream

Pure CBD Foot Cream is part of CBD For Life’s self-care line of products. It caters to those who spend long hours on their feet and could use a little bit of TLC with CBD and essential oils.

While this sounds like the perfect treat to rub on your sore feet at the end of a long day, we’re not impressed with its low CBD content at such a high price point.

Price/Value 1/5

The cost breaks down to $0.23 per mg of CBD based on the actual CBD content of 87 mg of CBD — 12% less CBD than advertised.

While $0.23/mg is a reasonable price point for topical formulas, the deceptive CBD content is a red flag. Moreover, 87 mg of CBD in a 150 g product dilutes into a measly potency. The value is lost in the low potency and mislabeling.

CBD Potency 1/5

CBD For Life’s Pure CBD Foot Cream has a very low potency of 0.59 mg/g. For reference, products under 5 mg/mL receive our lowest rating in this category. We don’t see any benefit to having CBD in such a low potency, as you generally need higher doses of CBD to feel its effects on the muscles through the skin.

Hemp Source  2/5

CBD For Life uses a CBD isolate made from industrial hemp grown at a Colorado farm with organic soil and sustainable farming practices. However, there were no organic certifications to prove it.

The third-party lab tests are gated behind an email request. When provided, the Certificates of Analysis was incomplete, most notably lacking contaminant testing, so we cannot comment on the hemp source quality.

Purpose/Uses 3/5

The feet have tough skin, and it’s often neglected in self-care routines. This foot cream has a thick, buttery texture to bring moisture back to dry feet and ankles. Massaging any cream or lotion into your feet can promote relaxation. If you were hoping for anti-inflammatory or pain-relieving effects, you should look elsewhere — there’s not enough of a CBD or any other herbal ingredients to deliver pain relief.

Product Variations 4/5

This CBD foot cream only comes in one option. With that said, this is a specialized product with a very specific use-case. Therefore, it’s not always necessary to have a wide range of different scents or consistencies.

Additionally, CBD For Life offers a number of other creams and topicals for other applications, so you’re more than likely to find something that will suit what you’re looking for in its product lineup.

Formulation/Ingredients 3/5

There’s nothing special in this ingredient list to write home about. It does have a nice, velvety consistency, but you can find that in most foot creams at a fraction of the cost. The biggest selling feature in this product is its CBD content, but the frugal CBD potency doesn’t add any benefit to this product.

CBD For Life Pure CBD Foot Cream Review

Muscle fatigue in the lower extremities can lead to more than just sore feet. It affects your mental alertness and can cause long-term occupational injury.

For many, standing jobs are part of regular life — but there are ways to protect yourself from serious injuries. Taking breaks, stretching, and regular exercise and massage to increase blood flow and strength to the lower extremities can all help support your feet and posture.

CBD For Life is a CBD brand that caters to active lifestyles with self-care products. It offers a foot cream infused with CBD and other skin-nourishing ingredients to moisturize the skin and “help soothe discomfort from spending too much time on your toes.”

While CBD For Life may have had good intentions, this review will break down why we’re not convinced of Pure CBD Foot Cream’s low-CBD concentration to provide much support for inflammation.

Overview: Pure CBD Foot Cream

Pure CBD Foot Cream is only available in one size (5 fl. oz/147 mL) with 100 mg of CBD isolate. The product description says to “Treat feet to the cooling comfort of our refreshing foot cream.”

Although it contains peppermint essential oil, it doesn’t produce a cooling sensation. The cream has skin moisturizing ingredients such as coconut oil, apricot kernel oil, and jojoba oil. However, there’s nothing on the list that can provide support for muscle fatigue that a regular lotion couldn’t deliver with a good massage.

At $20 a tube, this product is way overpriced for its measly CBD content and sub-par ingredient list.

Pros & Cons

Pros Cons

  • Excellent moisturizer
  • Free of parabens, phthalates, and formaldehyde
  • Not tested on animals

  • Incomplete third-party lab results only available on request
  • Low potency (100 mg)
  • Less CBD than advertised
  • Expensive

Key Features & Benefits

1. Moisturizing ingredients

The thick consistency of the cream, packed with nutrient-rich oils for the skin, helps to lock in moisture and soften the feel of dry, rough skin.

2. Free of Parabens, Phthalates, and Formaldehyde

These compounds are fragrance and preservative agents commonly found in beauty products. Though generally safe in low quantities, some studies have found phthalates and parabens to be endocrine (hormone) disrupters. If you have sensitive skin, it’s best to avoid these ingredients altogether.

3. Not Tested On Animals

CBD For Life is a cruelty-free brand, and although its products aren’t considered vegan, it’s products don’t involve animal testing. While animals have similarities in skin tissues when compared to humans, these tests aren’t the most reliable and will most often than not cause irreversible damage.

About the Company: CBD For Life

It appears that CBD For Life has undergone a few evolutions since its establishment in 2015. Based in New Jersey, the brand exists in the niche of health and beauty within the CBD industry.

In the company’s early days, CBD For Life sourced hemp from Europe. We came across this information on its Facebook page, which isn’t updated to match what its current website says — sourcing hemp from Colorado.

When we first came across CBD For Life’s website, it included more information about the brand, its hemp source, and how its products are effective.

The revamped website no longer has an About page, but it once said it was proudly owned and operated by women. Since its founding, the brand has always catered to active lifestyles and sells CBD products for self-care.

The new website is much more compliant with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) standards when it comes to labeling and advertising CBD.

This statement, taken directly off CBD For Life’s Facebook page: “CBD For Life’s revolutionary formulas help reduce pain, inflammation, and stress while promoting anti-aging, rejuvenation, and vibrancy” is a violation of the policies that the FDA and FTC are now cracking down on.

CBD For Life’s new website omits these claims to avoid repercussions, including fines and website shutdowns. However, CBD For Life missed this spot on its Facebook page.

Who Should Consider Using This Product?

Pure CBD Foot Cream is part of CBD For Life’s self-care collection. It’s geared to those looking to reward themselves after a long day on their feet.

Although it contains CBD, we’re skeptical of CBD’s effectiveness in such a low concentration. We don’t recommend replacing your CBD capsules or oils for this because it simply won’t deliver the same effects.

If you don’t mind spending $20 on a tube of foot cream, you might enjoy this product. It has a thick, buttery consistency and delivers excellent moisturization.

Price/Value

Pure CBD Foot Cream retails for $20 for a 147 mL (5 fl. oz) tube with 100 mg of CBD.

To compare CBD products across brands, we take the total CBD content of the product and divide it by the retail price to calculate the average cost per mg of CBD.

One thing we have to note here is that while CBD For Life claims to have 100 mg of CBD in the foot cream, the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) found only 87.8 mg of CBD.

When we calculate the price based on the actual CBD potency, it breaks down to $0.23/mg of CBD. The average price of CBD topicals ranges between $0.26 – $0.36/mg of CBD, and although this falls on the cheap side, we don’t consider the value to match the product because of this blatant mislabelling.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only product we’ve come across in CBD For Life’s catalog that contains less CBD than advertised.

At only 87 mg of CBD, we’re not convinced CBD adds any benefit to this foot cream formula. Therefore, we’re not willing to justify spending $20 here.

 CBD Potency

Third-party lab tests are critical when it comes to determining the quality of CBD products. Unbiased, independent labs will test a company’s CBD extract to determine the actual potency and presence of potential contaminants.

Pure CBD Foot Cream was said to contain 100 mg, but the CoA shows it only to have 87.8 mg of CBD isolate. This gives the cream a potency of roughly 0.59 mg/g of product, which is dismally low.

To make the most use of topical CBD for pain relief or anti-inflammatory benefit, experts recommend a concentration of CBD of at least 8 mg/g.

We sometimes recommend products with less CBD, but the formula will have other complementary ingredients to address pain, inflammation, and wound healing.

With only 0.60 mg of CBD, we’re not sure its inclusion adds any benefit to the cream.

Hemp Source

When CBD For Life launched in 2015, the brand used European hemp, as were many companies at the time because of the limited hemp supply in the United States. Since the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD For Life began supporting American hemp farmers for its production.

CBD For Life has a page on its new website dedicated to its hemp source. It claims to use industrial hemp crops from Colorado — at a farm that uses sustainable and organic farming practices. However, there are no organic certificates available to substantiate this.

On its older site, CBD For Life said it sourced its CBD extract from the “stems and stalks” of industrial hemp crops in Colorado. While the stems and stalks do contain traces of CBD, the concentration of cannabinoids is found in the buds (flowers). Because of this language, we were led to believe CBD For Life used the dregs of crops for its CBD isolate.

With the website update, CBD For Life still opted to gate its third-party lab testing results.

Most CBD brands will have a page dedicated to the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for every product batch — this has become a best practice in the industry.

The CBD For Life customer service team sent us some CoAs for its products after we requested them, but the majority of the results were incomplete.

The CoA for the Pure CBD Foot Cream only tested for the cannabinoid profile and potency. The most critical information noted was that it contained 12% less CBD than advertised.

There was no report for any contamination of pesticides, heavy metals, mycotoxins, or solvents, so we’re not able to verify the quality of the hemp source.

Purpose/Use

Foot creams are excellent at rejuvenating dry, tired feet, especially when massaged into the skin, adding the benefit of relieving tension. Regularly moisturizing your feet can even extend the life of your pedicure, which may come in handy during sandal season.

The old website product copy promised to reduce pain, inflammation, and “erase away the day’s stresses.”

Overall, we’re quite skeptical about the therapeutic effectiveness of CBD For Life’s products because of its low CBD content.

To comply with government regulation for CBD advertising, CBD For Life no longer has any promises about CBD’s anti-inflammatory or pain-relieving effects.

If you’re looking for a cream to massage your feet with, this will provide moisture in a thick, creamy formula — as long as you don’t mind the steep price point of $20 for a foot cream.

Formulation/Ingredients

According to CBD For Life, its products are free of THC and made using a 99% pure CBD isolate.

CBD For Life’s old branding regularly advertised that its ingredients are “naturally-derived.” We couldn’t find this on the new website, possibly because it was misleading.

Dimethiconesodium hydroxide, and phenoxyethanol are synthetic ingredients and can irritate sensitive skin.

In terms of the “cooling comfort” promised in the product description, we didn’t find it to have much of a cooling sensation. It does have a pleasant peppermint fragrance from the peppermint essential oil, but it’s not enough to cool the skin or claim any anti-inflammatory support.

CBD For Life Shipping & Return Policy

CBD For Life will ship anywhere CBD is legal, but the cost is dependant on the destination.

CBD For Life has a 30-day 100% satisfaction guarantee.

You must contact customer care [email protected] with “Refund” in the subject line. You must send the unused products back, and you can expect your refund (minus the cost of shipping and handling) within a few business days.

Final Verdict: Low CBD and Weak Effectiveness

We don’t recommend the CBD For Life’s Pure CBD Foot Cream if you’re looking for a topical CBD formula to manage pain or inflammation.

Aside from CBD, the formula consists of a basic cream recipe — for the amount of product you get (5 fl oz/147 mL), it comes at a steep price tag.

With only 0.60 mg/g of CBD, we don’t see its worth as a CBD topical.

While we’re sure the cream is an excellent moisturizer, there are plenty of other creams on the market that may provide a stronger cooling action at a fraction of the cost.

Alternatively, we suggest reading our review on Hemplucid’s Whole-Plant Body Creams for a CBD-infused topical with similar properties to tend to your needs.
